I kid you not, I did the exact same thing except i payed the €90 when they emailed me back. I've still not heard from them.

I have 2 tickets open on their site asking for shipping info and they wont respond at all.

Feeling scammed for sure.

i'd like to take the time to share my experience with you all about my dealings with this site.  i bought an avalon 921. as you may know,  the shit is loud. so i upgraded the fan. it was better, but still a bit loud, so i searched on how to build a box at first, but then i came across the miner master pro-c case. it seemed good. watched some videos about it on youtube, some reviews, and wanted to really know how it work more than anything, maybe i could back engineer it and see the components. after trying to find a website who had then, i came across www.cryptobitspot.com  (now known as cryptobit-scam) the site looks good, feedback on there site seemed legit at first. price was not bad (245 euros plus 30 in shipping) and after some thinking, i figured i go with them for the case.

i ordered the miner.they sent the invoice containing the address to send the funds to. and away it went. very slow response from them. no real correspondence. a few days after the order, i emailed them asking for the shipping info and they emailed me back a few days later and asked for txid. i sent it. i emailed them for an update a few days after that, they emailed me saying i needed to send 90 euros more for taxes was not included in the invoice. i did not believe it. i confronted them about it and no response. asked for a refund if it cannot be resolved.

after doing some more research on them, i started to get that "i got scammed" feeling and i found a bitcointalk forum someone posted in july, who was wondering about cryptobit-scam. if anyone dealt with them. in a way he got belittled for asking the question. but some people seemed to agree with his inquiry. some people in the forum were there saying things like, "if you don't know them, then your living under a rock." and "my colleagues have been buying from them for a long time they are trustworthy." someone else had the very same thing happen to them a few days ago and posted about it. i respond to his post with what happened to me.
a few hours later (yes, hours not days..) they emailed me demanding, if i took the post down, they will refund me. that was another lie. that is not a response from professionals in crypto miners since 2014..hmm.. but to my amazement, the person i quoted in the post had deleted their post, maybe he got his btc back? but good thing it was saved. i'd bet he got the same email i did. but i did find it odd.

my response to their email was "no.. first send me back the btc and i will take it down no if's and's or but's. id even delete my account off the forum. you never hear from me. they replied with as long as the post are up, i wont get refunded. and my reply was to send the btc and i'll take it down. no response as of yet, no explanation to anything, no trying to clear anything up., very rude all they had to do was refund me and i might not even be here, and there scam would live on. sad to say. i have posted all the proof of emails, transactions in the bitcointalk  forum i found asking about them for all to see. some people on there saying they get stuff from them a few months ago and but no one is defending them now... they probably have been profesional SCAMers since 2014. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!.

i know they are seeing my post, i want them to.  i sent them the link. i would like for them to come forward on this forum and explain to me...to everyone they scammed their side of the story and let's hear from them, come defend yourself and your companies reputation. instead you email me and say it's my fault i did not get a refund..? i guess because i exposed your scam site? that's classic man. so i was supposed to "bitch up" and say i'm sorry?? for what... you scamming me? you got the wrong guy pal. maybe you expect that giving the nature of crypto, and many people bent a knee to you before. but 0.035 is not that much man, i already bought it back in.  so the amount i paid to you was not really for the case, it was to expose your fake site. money well spent  if you ask me. also i would love to hear more about why this tax is never included at check out, whats up with your fake twitter account that never has any post from people who bought from you, no pics of your inventory, nothing on instagram but stock pics of things.. no nothing... your a scam, just change your temples and your site name your better off. start a new scam, but be careful... there may be a guy like me out there waiting to expose you. i know i'm not the only one this happened to. i welcome all to this post. email me, message me whatever you want.  share your story about being scammed by cryptobit-scam and for people who defend them saying they are a legit website. come tell your story about all the wonderful miners you got ,   i really doubt they or any of their chords will respond to this. but i hope so.  Grin

Thanks everyone for the wisdom. I appreciate it very much so. It looks like everyone's got a closet full of paper weights given the current mining situation unless you have something like, 5 cent kw/h. (Even we both know you're barely scraping by.)

Especially given that most of the time the mining calculators are a very liberal estimate it looks we're all out of luck unless you're an early herd ASIC miner.

I wanted to ask one other question regarding the MAJOR profit gaps between say, "WhatToMine" and "Crypt0 Zone". Can someone speak to why they numbers are almost nearly a double estimate. I just used a single 1070ti @ 0.12 kW/h as a base line. WhatToMine isn't even taking into account Pool Fee's and is still basically HALF the estimates on Crypt0 Zone.

The take away from this is, if you want to feel good about those GPU's you just bought. I guess go look at the false cryt0 Zoone estimates?

^ (This is just me poking fun at the differences, please educate me if i'm missing something obvious.).

Thanks for reading.

Questioning Proof - of - Growth (Merit)

Heads up, my first post on this got HIDDEN/REMOVED so I want to first apologize if I said anything against the rules or against someones "Special Interest" but here we go again.

Last thing before I get started, I am by no means an expert in cryptocurrency especially MERIT. If I am wrong please, by all means open up the discussion that will help to educate me.

So I am new to this forum and I cant help but notice the abundance of people with "Merit" promotions in their signatures. If you want to read up on the topic help your self. I've suck about an hour into reading up on their Consensus methodology called "Proof - of - Growth".

From what I have read thus far it sounds exactly like the time my girlfriend started selling Mary Kay.

(For those who don't know what Mary Kay is, its a pyramid scheme online makeup company where they get you to start selling their makeup to your friends and your friends sell the makeup to their friends etc. etc. Eventually my girlfriend was supposed to start managing her friends sales and start making "the big bucks" but that of course never happened. It's a broken system that only allows for those on top to make any money. I know this because my girlfriend lost tons of much money trying to sell their products.)

Ranting over with, I'd like to hear from some Merit backers on the topic. Please, I'm a ball clay ready to be molded.

Thanks for reading.

Personally I think you (not the last poster... ANYONE.) are ignorant if you think that these ASIC companies are not in bed with large mining operations. (In regards to early access, etc...)

You have to keep reminding yourself that this is an industry with little to no regulation at all.

Food for thought.

Mining Calculators!!!

Mining profitability calculators are about a dime a dozen at this point.

I wanted to consult the good folks here to get an non bias opinion on what the most accurate and intuitive is?

It would be preferred that the calculator had an API that I could utilize.

Most have this but, I'm really here because it seems like every calculator is trying to sell you an ASIC. (Could be my ignorance).

Thanks for reading. Smiley

I planned to use the raspberry pi 3 to VNC into the local network that it and the miner would living on. That way I have remote access to the miners on the network from anywhere.

The ASIC wave!!!

Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to read my post Smiley

Anyways, now to brass tax. I know that a lot of us are watching the looming cloud that is coming late September. I am talking about the latest batch of ASICs coming to the market for equihash.

I wanted to judge the communities thoughts on this. This will help give me an idea of what to expect.

Im by no means a crypto mining veteran. That being said, i jumped on board for the equihash ASIC wave.

As the days go along and I read more on the topic I want to refund my purchase. Am I right in this worry? I've got about a 75% certainty that equihash ASICs will become the next DASH(sorry i forget the algo.).

I guess what im seaking from this thread is, am i correct in my suspicion and should turn back now before its too late? Most of the parts showed up Monday (PSU, RasberryPi 3 etc. For miner configuration).

I could always just pickup some 1080ti's or 1070ti's and just go for speculative mining and give up on ASIC ROI grinding....

Let me know.

Thanks for your thought and for reading this far. Smiley
