Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem

I got kicked from the telegram for complaining about the tripled time limit, without using any strong language. So I got cut off from the news at the most important time.
And I invested a lot of BTC. Really classy Bancor. You guys with your "yadda yadda we are all about the community and building a better future".
What a mess.

No, sorry guys, they announced in the telegram (I think it is pinned) that Bitcoin-Suisse is taking no more applications. Probably their contingent is almost used up and they just need to work thorugh their backlog of applications.

Anyone can guess a % chance whether I can still expect some decent ROI if I invest now? Better than 50/50?
I reckon this is a solid project and here to stay, so I could hold the wagers for 1 year + and not dump asap.

don't know what you guys want here.  If you can devise an ICO method that keeps the marketcap reasonable, while at the same time preventing a small group from cornering the market on day one, let's hear it.  All I see is bitching and moaning.

Use the pre-ICO with BTC-suisse to let the small fish and everyone else who doesn't want to gamble get in. There, you can mostly cap the investment per customer (ID verification).
The ones who want to invest whale-amounts or think they can make it and want to avoid the fee/identification can try their luck in the "open" ICO with a reasonable cap.

If they do it this way, it doesn't evenm atter if they raise 100 or 200 or 500 million.
The name Bancor will be tarnished before it even starts.
With such a high profile project, you have to know beforehand what you need to realize your product. Don't collect as much cash as possible, from with 20% or whatever goes to the devs and founders etc. And then the "hidden" cap...
They take a large part of the reward away from the investors, heavily increase their risk, and give themselves heaps of spare cash for lamborghinis.
Sometimes you have to be "hard" and set a cap, or find some other way. But the team saying "we take as much money as possible" instead of "we need 30 mil for x, 50 mil for x+y" is simply unprofessional.

If they don't provide a different solution, capped in one way or the other, I will sadly have to ask nicolai to return my funds.
Oh right, I was told there'd be a cap and paid a fee to secure a spot ...  Roll Eyes

There IS a cap.  The cap is secret though, because if it were known whales would know exactly how much ETH to send to ensure they scoop up all the coins in the first hour.

Anyone arguing against this decision is either stupid or a sock puppet of the same whales that bought up BAT, and now they are salty they will have to pay dearly to corner the market on day one.

This coin is sexy as hell, and I got 20 ETH ready for the ICO.  Thanks for making sure the little guy can get piece of the action too!

Your answer implies that one of us understood the terms wrong. So I just read them again and came to the same conclusion:
During the first hour, their (hidden) cap does not matter whatsoever.
If they set the "cap" to say 50 million, but at the 5 minute mark this sum is acquired, the ICO will continue (since they guarantee one hour and there is no other mechanism in place). So at 60 minutes they could have raised 600+ and then that's it.
The way I see it, the guaranteed 1 houre overrides the cap, whatever it might be.
But please, correct me if I'm wrong.

Not a fan of this uncapped ICO either...
...then again, maybe many people will stay passive and not send their ETH until just before the 1 hour limit to see if/when the cap gets revealed?

I am definitely mad that I paid the Bitcoin Suisse Fees for nothing Angry

Verge is what he is currently interested in, and given that it is becoming a major threat to Monero, which he (I assume) also hold a lot of, it comes as no surprise to me that this is currently on his mind.
Also, you don't ask the 100 other newbie accounts that shill some coin (like me) if they are "officially associated" with it, right?  Wink

Still holding strong. Feels good having predicted this at the first little bump to 60 sat a few days ago. Obviously I regret not being the "15 million guy", but I simply didn't want to risk that much. I plan on adding some ASAP.
My advice to all of you is getting at least 500k XVG. This project is gaining DGB-levels of traction.

Over the last 2-3 hours it surged from 70 to 125 sat and simply could not dump, as hard as it tried. Currently seeming to stabilize around ~115 sat levels. In my rookie eyes, this seems like a good sign that peoples' trust in XVG is increasing and turning it from a "good-pump" to a dark horse. Looking much better than yesterday!
If the dev, whom you really have to admire for the show he delivers basically on his own, gets that smart contracts by RSK stuff in, this could be a mini Monero+Ether combined into one.

ok if TrueCryptonaire is interested in Verge you're fucking crazy if you don't buy at least a few.
(I've seen his posts here and he seems to make pretty rational decisions)

IDK if it will ever hit $1 (13.4 Billion circulating supply) but the developer is very active and even at 70 satoshi I think its worth investing a few dollars.

I literally signed up to post exactly the same thing!
Been a passive reader here for 2-3 years and never really got into altcoin trading.
Monero did grab my Attention because I believe that the demand for a "simple" and anonymous coin is huge. And TrueCryptionaire did indeed make many correct calls regarding that matter.
Now it's not like I don't like XMR anymore, I still hold the few I bought in January. But I don't see it moving anywhere sometime soon. And Verge is much much more solid that many people think. They just do a quick glance that judge it as another shitcoin that wants to rid eon privacy. But it has the potential for huge gains.
Therefore I went in hard yesterday. ~0.75 BTC was a lot for my small portfolio, given the reasonable risk, but I have high hopes for XVG (long term).
