Re: How do Online Wallets Survive ??
by

There are many online wallets like Xapo and Coinbase that do not charge any transaction fees or they pay that fees by themselves. I want to know that how would they profit from paying for their user's transaction fees ?
If no fees is charged then the transaction take a much long time or even might get cancelled !

Ones like blockchain.info make money from ads though it wouldn't surprise me if they start charging fees at some point in the future. They've had big investments from companies so they'll probably start wanting to see their money back at some point and its got to come from somewhere.

Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin?

People have no need to use it at the end of the day. It's mostly used by speculators and by people who like what it can do politically, but for the average joe they don't really care. They're fine with Paypal and sadly that's why I think it will always be a niche thing unless it can get adopted by the remittance market or industries where traditional payment processors wont work with them (like porn or camsites or whatever).

Re: Is Bitcoin 'real money' to you?
by

To me money is only money whether people have faith in it. Something could be money to some but not others. The only difference between fiat money and monopoly money is the faith people have in it. If people lost their faith in fiat and stopped using it then it would become worthless. Same applies to bitcoin or anything else. If you regard it as money and people accept it as payment for something then it's money.

Re: Fiveer.com - Have you had any experiences using this service? Good or Bad

As with any site I would check each users feedback carefully before you choose to use them.

Their customer support is the worst ever though sellers are honest and reliable. Fiverr customer support should update their service more higher level to resist buyers hatred

How can you say all of them are honest and reliable? That's like saying all ebay sellers are all the same. I've heard plenty of people have problems with sellers not delivering or doing shoddy work but not sure what people expect for a fiver.

Re: Why is Bitcoin better that fiat?
by

on 05/01/2016, 08:45:58 UTC
The two main reasons for me are it's decentralized nature and the fact that it can't be censored. Processors like Paypal and Visa/Mastercard etc regularly block users or businesses they don't like and with bitcoin it still gives those users an option. In fact, the more people those companies block the better for bitcoin as they often turn to accepting it as its one of the only ways they can continue their business.

Re: Would you trust your Bitcoins to a Bitcoin Bank with annual 10% interest rate?
by
Brad Pitt

I'm sure it's already been stated but isn't the whole point of bitcoin that we can be our own bank? Besides, if bitcoin is adopted worldwide and it continues to grow bitcoin will naturally gain interest and much more than 10% a year. Haven't we already grown ny much more than this this year alone and we didn't need to let filthy banks hold our coins.

Re: This is a watershed moment in bitcoin history

We watched Bitcoin grow from nothing to 4.8 billion market cap today.

Over the years there is always the fear that bitcoin will be banned and it's
value will go to zero.

Even if every gov on the earth banned it it's value wouldn't go to zero. It would possibly even rise because it will still have use on the black market and that's one thing that bitcoin will always have regardless of mainstream adoption.

If bitcoin can grow to 300 billion, like face book.
Then each coin will worth 10K?

Nobody can tell you the value of bitcoin in the future. It's all down to supply and demmand.

Re: Digital currencies to solve problems
by
Brad Pitt
on 12/10/2015, 15:20:18 UTC
Hey guys, what type of problems do you think the use of digital currencies could help to solve?

i think cryptocurrencies as a whole are too young actually solve any issue in the world yet. but they all have a lot of potential if they get mature enough.
one of the best features is what OmegaStarScream mentioned above, and that is the cheapest transactions so far. anybody can send any amount they want to any person in any place of the world and as fast as possible while this is not possible with using current (fiat) methods. so cryptocurrencies can be a good solution for that.

Bitcoin is still young in the grand scheme of things and will likely take many more years to grow into the mainstream as tech like the internet did, but bitcoin is not the only way to send money around the world. You can do that with many bank transfer services or even fiat and sometimes even for free.

Re: How to make Bitcoin transactions untraceable?
by
Brad Pitt
on 28/09/2015, 10:02:50 UTC
you should make your bitcoin anonymous from the start. which means you should buy it with cash from someone and place it in a new address.
this way it will have no links to you, because buying from any sort of exchange or using credit card would link it to you.

If you use it at some point, you've now created a link between you and the coins. So you still aren't anonymous.

I think we need to define what you regard as anonymous and the situation you use your coins in. You can still keep your identity secret but not if you post you public info along with the transaction or it is linked somehow.

Buy low and sell high!

Simplest rules here. Put in some low buy orders and hope you get lucky, then try sell them for a high price during a panic buy. Profit?

Re: How too get rich
by
Brad Pitt
on 14/09/2015, 14:20:38 UTC
I would say buy low and trade btc. Use the markets and play futures and options to increase your btc. This is my plan to get rich. Options trading. Vanilla and Binary options!

This strategy will never work with Bitcoin, because it is such a volatile currency. After Bitcoin crashed to $300 from $1,000 in just three months, a lot of people started accumulating it. But the problem is that, even after 18 months, Bitcoin hasn't recovered to the pre-crash peaks. The exchange rate is going at $220-240 right now.

It's because of this volatility why it does work and is pretty easy to make a nice profit, but not enough to get rich off for sure. That would only happen if we saw some wild swings again but bitcoin hasn't really been shooting up like it did back in 2013. I think it'll be more likely to grow steadily over time but could be waiting a while.

Re: Does the deflationary nature of BTC "encourage hoarding and delay spending"?
by

Both hoarding and spending are good for bitcoin. Hoarding takes coins out of supply but those who are hoarding will want to spend them or cash em out eventually.

Don't pay 200 dollars. You might be best just taking the iphone apart and buying a cheap caddy to put the hard drive in and plugging it straight into your PC. That usually works.
