You can purchase bitcoin pins and keychains here:
http://muslimagorist.com/products/shiny-badges

The pin says "Free the Market Free the World". I bought the pin and I love it.

Bitcoin - Qt should prompt for fee when sending BTC
by
Braincoin

I just used Bitcoin-Qt client on OS X to send bitcoins for the first time. It did not prompt me to add a fee. I looked into it and found out that the preferences are set to not send a fee. The client should always prompt or have a place to enter a fee, but it is hidden away in preferences. I wanted to include a fee, but it sent before I was given a chance. Now my BTC transaction is in limbo. Why does the client not prompt for a fee?

ronenfe, you are free to create your own currency however you want. Obviously bitcoin is a good enough idea for all these people to be interested. If it had been created differently it may not have been as popular. Or perhaps your equal currency will be more popular. The beauty of bitcoin is that we are not forced to use it like the fiat currency the government forces me to use. You are free not to use bitcoin, and you are free to create your own equalcoin. Let us know how your new currency goes. Smiley

Re: coinbase.com won't allow any purchases after verification

Cilphex was correct. Coinbase has a daily limit that is site wide. So if other's make too many transactions they can essentially block you from making a transaction. I didn't realize that. It would be best if Coinbase gave the message before trying to make a purchase rather than after. Just posting to let others know. Here is the email response I received back from Coinbase:

Hi,

Sorry for the confusion on that! The limit you're seeing is Coinbase's daily limit being reached, not your personal limit. This is something we'll be raising in the very near future!

OK, it finally worked. It does seem sketchy that this wasn't working for 3 days. Would have liked to have heard back from coinbase as well. I was also surprised to see that I don't get the bitcoins for almost a week! I guess this has something to do with the bank transfer. Thanks for the tip.

coinbase.com won't allow any purchases after verification

I signed up for an account at coinbase.com and verified my account. The site clearly states:
Quote
You have 10.0 BTC remaining of your 10.0 BTC daily limit.
When I try to enter any amount (10 BTC or 5 BTC) I receive a message that states:
Quote
Sorry, the maximum number of purchases on Coinbase has been reached for today. Please try again in 24 hours. We'll continue raising this limit over time.
This makes no sense since I have not made any transactions through coinbase.com.

I have been unable to make a bitcoin purchase since signing up 3 days ago. I've emailed support at coinbase and have received no response.  Any tips or suggestions? Thanks Smiley

which version of the client are you using?
it takes only like 4-5 hours to download the whole chain, with a new version of bitcoin.

I'm using version 0.5.0.1-beta on a Mac. I just saw 0.7.0 is available. I hadn't even thought about that. Thanks. Does this mean I will have to download the entire block chain again? I hope not. Smiley

congratulations! to download the complete blockchain or blocks that was mined over night?

Thanks! I believe it was most or all of the blockchain. I haven't synced fully in about a year. Originally it only took about 5 hours (last year).

One thing you can do is copy the contents if the appdata folder and put them into your new appdata folder *if* you will be doing it again anytime soon on another machine.  (Or if you decide to format yours...)

Hmmm, not sure what that means or what that would do, but thanks for the tip. I'm on a Mac.
