can I ask if you are ok with forum escrow? unless your ok sending to me (I am in uk also). I appreciate the pics, but we need to be careful, also what is price for ddr4 2x8gb pack thanks.

Thanks for the enquiry,

Escrow is fine, buyer to cover fees (original post updated, thanks). DDR4 Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400 2x8GB - £100.

If your also in the UK you could always collect. I also have the cooling & filtration system for sale if you are a miner.

I was going to send you a PM to go back and forth a bit, but since you are a newbie and without copper membership it seems more efficient to have that discussion within your thread. Being limited to a couple of PMs a day is not conducive for business negotiations. Wink

I'm interested in a single Vega 64, but I'm located in USA and would certainly require that we use an escrow (or you send product first). Would you be willing to include shipping costs within your price and shave 20£ off the price? Let me know if that works for you.

Hi,

Thanks for getting in touch. I understand your offer, initially I'm not going to pursue it - Here's why: Postage would certainly be more than £10 to the USA, at sub £300 for a Vega 64 it makes much more sense for me to sell these locally and not have to worry about international shipping and a forum escrow that I've never used before. That's not to say we can't continue communications and see where it leads - was it definitely just the one you wanted?

Im having the work performed be licensed electrician

So why aren't you asking your licensed electrician about your electrical questions (surge protectors) instead of asking random people on a forum?

Most of us are really helpful on here but the point I'm making above should be very obvious

Thanks for the reply, great info there. Looks like an awesome gun you have - they are illegal in the UK (or more so, you can't shoot someone on your property) but it makes perfect sense in the US. Its a shame I'm not in the US as I'm currently looking for someone over there to potentially start up a mining data center with. I don't think I'm quite big enough to do it on my own at the moment (currently running 100 Vegas) but if two of us pooled together it would be much more achievable.

Well, [Depending on the State you live in] you have to be very careful about shooting someone on your property compared to inside your home.  They have to actually manifest threatening actions to your life in order for you to legally shoot them in your yard.  That's why I said they are "subject" to get shot.  Not that they will get shot.  If they advance towards me as if to attack me, they WILL get shot.

I'm not currently as big as I want to be in mining yet either.  I'm hoping to get a loan in the near future [Between May and July] to double my farm size at a minimum.  I'm wanting to stay alone rather than team up with someone else.  At least that's my plan currently.  If I had over $1,000,000 worth of hardware, my thoughts my change.  Otherwise, I'm staying alone for now.

100 Vegas is a nice little farm.  I know they bring in a decent amount of revenue with ETH and/or XMR.

That's cool that you're doubling your farm size. Have you actually got room to do it?

Is that your real name? You're giving details that aren't really needed based on the questions you're asking.

If you hold Crypto or Crypto mining equipment you are a target for theft, kidnap and extortion; it has already happened in the UK several times.

You need to protect your anonymity, if that's your real name start by deleting this thread/account.

That's interesting, can you provide links reporting on the kidnap / extortion going on in the UK?

Hi Cryptos. My old account got frozen due to inactivity but I’ve been a Crypto boffin since 2013. I’ve now changed career to focus solely on blockchain technology, more specifically to build some blockchain models that’s ive been working on. I’m looking for some pointers on key team members I’ll need to build a blockchain system and get off the ground with the inevitable ICO. My core skills are in I.T. Project management, production and marketing having run a marketing agency with my ex-partner for the last 12 years. I would welcome your expertise and knowledge for pointers and tips to get started and where to find quality resources to team up with. I’m also looking for good mentors to help guide me on this endeavour.

Thank you all in advance.

John

Did no-one get back to you about this John? I'm an infrastructure engineer by trade and also looking to grow something in the crypto space. I have some ideas, and currently have significant investment in crypto. Drop me a PM if interested, all we can do is see where the conversation goes.

All,

Sorry I didn't reply to this sooner, the notifications don't seem to work too well on here. It does seem like some sort of power distribution issue despite using powered risers. In the end I returned the board and used the Asus B250 Mining Expert instead.

Works fine, 8 Vegas on Blockchain drivers.

Hello Everyone, first time I’m posting on here, and hopefully I can get some good help and the answer I’m looking for!

I’ve been reading forums /watching videos about mining farms and cooling them and just have not been able to find the answer I’m looking for.

Basically, I’m am in the process of opening a farm in the UK which will have around 100 GPU to begin with which i am looking to increase. And around 20 Antminer (Mix of s9 and L3).

The only thing that I am finding hard to work out which is probably also one of the most important things is the ventilation/ cooling. I understand that simple air intake and extract using commercial fans will be sufficient during the winter. But I am worried this will not help in the summer and my miner will begin to overheat.

I am going to be operating in a industrial unit, which is around 1500 sq ft and I just don’t know how I should go about placing the miners. I have thought of putting the in rows on a raised floor to bring in cool air from outside and then extract it from above. But hitting temps of 30-35 Celsius in summer, this can become a problem.

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Also. If someone can get me the answer I need am definaltly looking to tip as this will help me so much!

Hi,

I'm also from the UK and have 100 GPUs running. Don't you find the electric costs sky high over here? Looking around on the internet, even in some parts of the US I'm sure I read somewhere people are only paying $0.06 per KW/H. Changing the air in the room is the best bet for cooling, but also filtering the incoming air to stop dust particles is really important. I actually have a load of huge fans / filters spare at the moment as I was due to move into a building but the deal with the owner went sour.

Can't PM you as I don't think i have enough posts.

Great topic and photos. With all these fans exhausting air, do you not worry about security? I.e not only someone trying to break in to steal your GPUs, but people breaking in thinking its something else (Cannabis farm etc.) ?

I have 100 GPUs currently operating in the UK and I'm looking to relocate. The criteria is:

Lowest cost per KW (currently running circa 22KW @240v)
No setup fee (would rather install myself for various reasons)
Remote access via VPN

I would like to visit the facility first to understand what is available and plan the install. I had originally looked at Iceland but the cost per KW appears to be lower in the US. I also have some other business to discuss which may be of interest to the facility.

Any (legit) suggestions welcome.

Hi,

We might have an offer for you and you are of course welcome to visit the data-center anytime.

However, we do not allow customers to setup their own equipment, despite the fact of how knowledgeable they may be. This is to ensure the standardization of installation and the safety of our customers equipment and integrity.

Regards,

Thank you for the reply. Please PM me the offer.

Hi all,

I'm having issues with my H110 Pro BTC+. It refuses to boot (don't even get BIOS) with more than 9 GPUs installed, on the 10th i get the issue, 9 works fine. I've followed the miners guide and ensured both molex plugs and the Sata connector (so 3 in total) are connected on the motherboard and are also using 3 separate cables back to the master PSU. Can anyone help? OS doesnt matter since it doesnt get that far.

Setup:
H110 pro BTC+
Intel G3930 CPU
4GB Ram
500GB Sata HDD
ATI Rx Vega 64 GPUs
3 x Corsair HX 1200 PSUs (1200 Watts each).

Is there perhaps some sort of undocumented issue with the board not supporting these cards? They require two 8pin PCI-E power connectors each, my power draw should be fine though, I have one PSU dedicated to the mother board and the other two PSUs for the GFX cards. Apart from that anyone got any bright ideas? Sad

Install windows 10 fall creators update build1709. with latest amd drivers(for amd GPUs) will work.

Thanks for the reply but the OS doesnt matter since the rig doesnt even get to the BIOS stage? Running windows 10 anyway. I'm thinking it might be the cards PCI lane power draw thats too much for the board @ 10 cards. Each card requires two 8pin PCI-E connectors so they are pretty hungry things! No spec from ASRock on what the board is capable of though.

You need a processor that can support more PCI Express Lanes.
The following is an excerpt from Intel website for Intel g3930 cpu:

Expansion Options
Scalability  1S Only
PCI Express Revision  3.0
PCI Express Configurations ‡  Up to 1x16, 2x8, 1x8+2x4
Max # of PCI Express Lanes  16

NB. Some of these lanes will be used up by other devices e.g. SATA

Also, as in the previous comment, this is a Bitcoin forum not Altcoin!

Thanks for answering my question, rather than the previous poster who wasnt much help - noted about the wrong forum. I'll have a check in the bios see if theres anything i can disable to free up some lanes! Cheesy

Hi,

I checked into the PCI lanes point and its not an issue, plenty of other people are running this board with 13 GPUs on the Intel G3930 Sad
