Re: [VAL] Validity - Decentralized Identities, Custom Assets, Elections, and More!

Can't synchronize the client with the network. It shows zero available peers and no traffic. Some other wallets are working fine.
I am staking under Windows 10 Pro with the newest VAL client.
Are there any suggestions?
Thanks.

This usually happens when a wallet can't update the peers.I had the same situation. You can use https://validitytech.com/validity.conf link to download the configuration file with the latest peers. You need to paste in to your Validity wallet.

Check how your folder should look like: https://prnt.sc/295FhdTdecD6

Thank you, it helped and now I am staking again :-)

The Validity Blockchain Explorer https://chainz.cryptoid.info/val is showing incorrect VAL balance for (at least) my wallet (the wallet shows more coins). Is it possible to reach out to them and have fixed this issue?

What is the address? Feel free to send me PM

I overlooked that the wallet consists of two different adresses, my bad.
The block explorer shows correct amount of coins.

Big news:  I just successfully downloaded and synced CLAM on my Windows computer in less than 24 hours with no bootstrap.

Windows release coming soon.  Beta, but it works.  Took a few years longer than expected, but far better late than never.  I'll have more news as Xploited lets me know!

Yeah, I've never understood how this website gets run so poorly. Hopefully CMC lists you, I think your website is pretty cool honestly.

Thank you very much.

The best thing we can do is just let the listing websites know that this market is the most relevant and let them go from there.

Downloaded the new client today, it synced VERY fast w/o bootstrap. On my desktop PC with Ryzen 7 3700X and a state of the art Samsung SSD it took approx. 3 hrs.
Great job.

Poloniex: "CLAM is currently under maintenance or experiencing wallet issues. Deposits and withdrawals will remain disabled as we work to find, test, and audit a solution. Thank you for your patience in the meantime."

Are they maybe finally working on a fix?

Wishful thinking.

However, Poloniex did cancel our failed withdraw... so we got the coins back in our balance to trade with and have access to.

Right now, the only place to buy and sell CLAMS is my Swap website.  We are still operational even with Poloniex down.  Just-dice also offers a free /escrow service for people trading OTC.

FreeBitcoins.com is VERY close to having our exchange for BTC/CLAM complete as well. *knocks on wood*

https://freebitcoins.com/swap/affiliates/img/Try-Free-Bitcoins-2_728x90.jpg

Is there any possibility to help them out? They are playing the waiting game, not caring much about deposit/withdrawal functionality. A delisting will be the logical outcome to this sooner or later :-(...

We need some publicity. Maybe we should say we will build a wall or buy some islands. Who is going to make the call... Grin

Lmao oh if only man! We just need one crazy guy with a following!

I remember DJ Thistle and others shilling RADS to 100 dollars on Twitter in summer of 2017... yeah.

Those were the days.

GOLDMAN SACHES FUCKZ CLAMS SIDEWAYS!!!  Tongue 1800 BTC ? MEH = DUST

They still have 1400 of my CLAMS from two Sundays ago!

Got all my stuck CLAMS back today.

Can you tell me if this software requires my PC to be strong?

No, any low power PC with at least 4 GB RAM will do. I am using an Intel ITX-solution to stake CLAMS alongside other POS coins. Power consumption 10W at idle.

Guys,

Kudos to the whale... Dump 500 BTC worth to where it is now... Buying 200BTC now will hike the price to 0.006. That's a damn good deal.

It may be also back to 0.0002 where we started last year.

Got some CLAMS stuck after withdrawal, contacted Poloniex support. How long does it take to solve this? I know that this is common issue, I wonder how much time do they need to "recover" my coins. Thanks.

I've got coins stuck with a fake txid on Poloniex as well since Sunday now.

This is why we created Swap.  We have LOTS of CLAMS for sale right now and our shit counts confirmations right/fucking works.

Did you receive your coins already? There is no action from them by now and I am missing my staking rewards :-(

With the big volume (for such a tiny market like CLAM) in the last months, are there chances to list CLAMS on other exchanges? Or even to relist it on Bittrex?
I still do not get the meaning of delisting it there last year. Do we have some examples of relisting coins on B-trex? Thanks.

Yes, I know and I might use it in the future.
But.. are they able to recover the coins and how long does it take? Some people here do have experience with this. Thanks.

Last time I tried with clams on polo it took me about 6 hours to receive the coins.

Obviously, that was a regular withdrawal which worked as intented.
As for my transaction, the Tx-id from Poloniex can not be found on Clam block explorer, so I would like to know how long does it usually take under these circumstances to credit the coins back.

Hello,

I love to stake RADS and I would like to set a maximum amount of connections to the network.
How can i do that?

1 outgoing connection is already OK for staking. Look what the main RADS dev Justin (JJ12880) answered about this previously:

Quote
In order for the wallet to work correctly, it needs to have a MINIMUM of one connection. A wallet can work perfectly fine, using only one high quality connection to the network. It is desired that a wallet have more than one connection in case your one connection is of low quality. A total of three to five connections is more than enough for the wallet to work correctly.

But arnt more connections better?
Well, it CAN be, in terms of the health of the entire network, however after 3-5 connections there really is little improvement in wallet function. Each connection requires resources to maintain, and the more connections you have the harder your computer will need to work in order to communicate with all the other nodes. Once your wallet has a stable connection to the network, more connections will not increase the speed or improve staking.

I have 16, BUT I WANT MORRRR!
Well, then, be patient. First, connections require more CPU power for the connected wallets. There are two types of connections used by the wallet, outgoing and incoming. An outgoing is established when your wallet reaches out and initiates a connection to another node. An incoming connection occurs when someone else connects to you. There is a hard coded limit of 16 outgoing connections, so that your wallet does not create more work for more nodes than necessary. To help new wallets gain connections even if your already have 16, the incoming connection default limit is set at 125. This means your wallet can not ask for more than 16 connections, but it can accept more connections from other nodes with low connection counts. In summary, only way to get more than 16 connections is to have your wallet open for a long period of time and allow other new nodes to connect to you.

More info about staking you can find on our website - https://radiumcore.org/staking/

Thank you, I already found out that adding a file named radium.conf with the parameter "maxconnections" into the Radium directory can limit the number of connections.
Previously, I got more than 60 connections consuming up to 3 GB of data per day (not an issue at all) but after a period wihout any single stake I tried reducing the amount of connections.
I should get a stake every few hours, but the last one is more than 5 days old.
Am I doing something wrong? How can I check, that everything is allright? The wallet is synced, staking is active and there are 14-18 active connections.

Thank you!

How many orphans do you get lately? (lost blocks)

Are you running the latest version of the Core client? version 1.5.1.0

I like to have as many connections as possible on my node, at least the maximum of 16 outgoing connections if possible because I want to propagate to as many other nodes as possible when I found a block.

For further support you can also check our Telegram group where some of our mods/devs will be happy to assist you.
https://t.me/RadiumOfficial

I got some orphans once in two weeks or so, not really worth mentioning. The client I am running is the latest version 1.5.1.
This week has been much better. The only thing I have done is that I shut down my staking PC for a few hours. After turning it back on, the staking is running very well in the last 8 days.

I have some difficulties staking recently. I should obtain one coin every ~30 hours, but my last stake dates back to 2 of January 2019.
I am wondering, if something is wrong with my configuration. The wallet seems to be fine.
Just a few minutes ago I got an orphaned block... :-(

Is it normal, to wait such a long time?

Looks like you got forked from the network. To be sure, please verify the output of the command
Code:
clamd getblockcount
and take a look at https://csexplorer.criptocambio.com.br/ or http://khashier.com/ to see if the number of the last block indexed is similar. A difference of 1 is acceptable, as the network can take a time to propagate blocks. But if the difference is bigger, then you got forked and need to resync

Thank you. Today, I checked the output of the command and it matches the actual number of blocks on the website. However, I restarted the client yesterday and I also synced my PC clock with internet time (the deviation was less than 2s, so I don't think this is an issue).
I can't tell now if I was on the wrong chain prior to restarting.
The good news is that I staked 1 CLAM today in the morning, transaction is already validated.
