Just to be perfectly clear on this, communication indeed has been lackluster, as the devs have been busy behind the scenes working on the code and not necessarily doing PR stunts. They want a polished strategy and WP before the PR kicks in, and that's understandable.

Nevertheless, we are slowly rebuilding our communications. We have adopted a Communications Strategy that includes regular updates on our Twitter, Reddit and Medium accounts. You will see a lot more information from our side on these channels starting next week.

I can also proudly announce that the White Paper and new website will be released on March 31. A wallet redesign is also in the works. A more detailed Road Map will be published along with the White Paper.

They said they cannot re-broadcast it with a higher fee and that there is nothing else they can do.

I've seen those, but I'd like someone with a tech-savvy eye to take a look at the transaction and tell me why there are so many unconfirmed inputs for my transaction? It's up to 5500+ bytes.

Plus, most of those services look very fake. They have just a homepage and demand payment up front, with no online review to attest that they are actually real and not scams.

I am in a bit of a pickle alright:

I bought around 1000USD in Bitcoins during the bull run in December 6-7 on an extremely low-maintenance site that has virtually no competent tech support.

Needless to say, they screwed up and attached a small fee (about 6.54 dollars) to the transaction. It has been up in the air since then and shows no signs of showing up in my designated wallet (shows up as pending with 0/2 confirmations).

I am also new to this myself, so I'm unsure if they actually had made the correct transaction on their end. Does all the data on the aforementioned look standard to you? It is the case of an unconfirmed transaction stuck due to a low fee?
