Re: [ANN] Bleutrade. The most powerful cryptocurrency exchange platform

I have lost $30 USD to these guys they take deposits claim you can withdraw under 0.1 btc then they have a hidden fee page saying you cant withdraw anything without full KYC, and their KYC doesnt work, they are from Brazil so that should give you a clue as to the professional criminals who run this place. DONT SEND IDENTITY DOCUMENTS TO THEM THEY WILL SCAM YOU.

$25 in BCH from me has disappeared into their wallets for over 24hrs.

Re: GPU Replacement fans

The bonus for buying direct replacement fans is that if you decide you're gonna sell the card, it comes with the original fan and can be sold for gaming. I know its kinda doin someone dirty but if it still works fine, and is just not profitable to mine on anymore, you can still sell it at a huge discount to someone who normally couldn't afford to have such a nice GPU for gaming. Even if the lifespan is not going to match up to their expectations, they will figure out thats why it was cheaper than the rest of the same cards in the area.

I second the recommendation of Aliexpress, if you look at the Ad closely and make sure its the same model # as you need, it will most likely come from the same manufacturer as OEM.

Depending on your efficiency, and electricity rates, mining was profitable all the way down to $3500, when it was $3100 it was scary and I did turn my rigs off during that period, but ever since it was above $3500 I've been mining altcoins in profit on my small hodge podge of GPU's

I mine and trade my mining rewards, I hodl BTC, BCHABC, ETH, LTC, and DASH.

I use a spreadsheet and set percentage targets to match the BTC dominance, which I adjust daily.

60%    BTC
14.5% BCHABC
11.5% ETH
7%     LTC
5%     DASH
2%     OTHER (mining rewards+DOGE for inter-exchange transfers)

Cryptonight. I wont reveal which one Im mining but lets just say Im merge mining 2 coins at once. 1 HD 7850 1GB, 1 R9 270X 2GB, 1 RX 580 8GB. ~$0.50/day.

Ether-1 is a good ethash coin for 2GB cards, I just didnt get as good as profits as having both cards doing the same algo (7850 cant run ethash, only 1GB)

by

As of now the only rigs that are profitable are the Vega and 1080ti rigs that are giving a better hash per watt efficiency. All of us with older rigs are finally out of the picture completely. The good news is that the cards that are now obsolete for mining are still perfectly capable of playing all but the latest games at high/ultra settings, and can still make the latest games playable on lower settings. Now is the window to sell the GPU's while they can still play games.

Those dang Vishera CPU's have that unmanageable cache there are so many different configurations to try to extract the power from those CPU's and Ive always said there has to be a way to make a thread use a group of selected cores instead of just "false" and letting the OS manage the affinity.

I configure 4 standard threads to cores 7-5-3-1, then 2 "double cache" mode threads with affinity set to false. If only those 2 threads could be assigned to split their loads among cores 0-2-4-6 only I suspect theres an additional 60 or so more H/sec for a full CPU.

Code:
"cpu_threads_conf" :
[
     { "cpu_architecture" : "vishera", "affine_to_cpu" : 1, "use_cache" : true },
     { "cpu_architecture" : "vishera", "affine_to_cpu" : 3, "use_cache" : true },

Re: Today I turned off all the miners I manage
by
Bulitt
on 20/10/2018, 04:34:33 UTC
Still mining as well but seriously contemplating turning most of it off.  I have a variety but I only have 7 GPUs and they have been mining at a loss for a few months now.  I want to have something to sit on in case there is a turn around in the markets but I'm very close to calling it on the GPUs.  My S9's are also really marginal these days.  They still make a decent amount per day but they have to be really close to dropping below the breakeven point right now in terms of cost to run.  So I am contemplating turning those off as well.  Have a few other asic miners that are still worth running for the time being but none of those have broken even for the purchase price yet either.

But on the other hand I have been mining for a number of years and my obsolete pile of gear has BFL, asicminer, gridseed, innosilicon, and bitmain stuff in it.  So turning stuff off and piling it in the corner isn't an entirely new concept to me.  Not replacing it with the latest and greatest kind of is new though, and right now I have zero plans to buy anything out there.

Yeah new m10 gear is about 2k once you add the trump tax to it.

So it does not pay to buy them.

I am still not sure if I will get a back bill for 500 usd on the one m10 I got either I beat the deadline by a day or I lost by a day.  So far no bill for it.

Right now my 1920x threadripper is doing well on xmr v8. See how long that lasts.

Wait, isn't XMR v8 the one that started yesterday?

EDIT: Ha!  Nevermind.  I was thinking that threadripper was an asic for a second there.  I had forgotten about the CPU.

Cryptonight V8 is a finicky beast if you can handle the extra power requirements for a GPU it can give you similar hashrates to the older V7 but you have to configure your intensity right or the card might crash the driver without additional power limit (on Polaris cards.)

Edit: What I meant to add was that a threadripper CPU has so much L3 cache that it can actually provide hashrates similar to a Vega64 card. Im not sure what the TDP on those CPU's are but its looking like CPU's might be the new power efficient way to mine crypto.
