Re: Why Bitcoin is better than banknotes
by

In many ways, yes, it is a lot better: reliability, cost of transaction, etc., etc., but it becomes totally useless when you have to make an off-line payment in a country or a place with no or limited internet access. You can't even buy a bottle of water or a hamburger. Think about it. You can have a lot of BTC in your digital and hard wallets striding along the street in a foreign town and if they don't have internet, you're broke for them! Wink
There must be some way out of it...

Yes, lack of offline payments is a drawback, of course, but the number of advantages is more impressive than that. I believe people will most certainly come up with something. Sooner or later Wink

Re: More Regulations For Cryptocurrency?

Hello, would love to get your opinion on this topic. Do you think there would be more regulations regarding cryptocurrency by the Government? Both now and the future? Let’s say bitcoin price rises to $100,000 per bitcoin, Do you think the government would actually let it be and function on its own without constant regulations? Well, personally I think we would see more regulations from the government down the line to a 1 Trillion Dollars total market cap and above. But I’m positive such regulations won’t hamper on the further growth and advancement of cryptocurrency. So tell me, what do you think?

I'm sure there'll be more regulations for blockchain and crypto and I've come across this article that states that
"Governments may be big backers of the blockchain":

Re: How safe is Bitcoin? ✅

I believe in the security of bitcoin itself, and the rest depends only on the bitcoin holder. If you choose a secure wallet, everything will be fine.

Ledger Nano S Wink
I hope it's secure enough.

Yes, it is. It establishes the policies and rules for its people and if those policies and rules prevent you from being employed, then it is the government's fault.

I agree, but I believe we need to find a new way to introduce it to our society because the society has changed and might not be ready to learn in an old-fashioned manner.

Yeah, you're right. The old way may not work with the kids who were born in the new Millennium...

Sure. We must find new ways to do it.

Moreover, we must FIND people CAPABLE of DOING it in a new way, which might not be that easy....

Re: Increasing crime rate ?? What caused it?
by

I don't think it is the crime rate that changes; it's our attitude. There are certain things people used to believe were okay, but then people changed their minds.
In addition, the number of social media and people on them are constantly increasing, which increases the publicity thus making us feel the crime rate increases, but it doesn't. In fact, I believe that in reality the crime rate decreases.
As simple as that.

I guess, it is the media that is responsible for this feeling of ours that crime rate is increasing. I believe, it's just the opposite. It is beneficial for the media to keep people scared and tense at all times. The reality is different.

Re: Can the media protect our democracy and freedom?

Nope. The media is here to serve the government, but to be able to do what they gotta do, they must maintain an image of a trusted source at all times: "independent press," "freedom of speech," "protecting democracy/freedom," etc. Thus, ever since we come into this world, we are taught to believe those slogans so we could trust the media by default. Considering all those half-truths and other stuff, I believe we can try to get some information from the media, but we must use critical thinking to process everything we hear or read in the media.

If we can introduce a common governing  system for the world without politicians I think it will be more friendly to the people.

Nice, but pretty idealistic POV. I wish you were right, but I think it's a dream...

BITCOIN = FUTURE - I concur with the equation, but I don't really approve of anyone being reckless like that about the technology that hasn't even fully established yet. Let's hope you're doing fine until things straighten out and you can enjoy the results for what you did.

Some regulation should prove good for the crypto in the long run because all the stakeholders, i.e. ordinary people, government, traders want to be sure everything is safe with crypto. It might take time, but safety should not be underestimated.

While trading we have to follow few rules and without following those rules there is no way to be a successful one except a successful by chance. There are lots of rules of them greedy plays a vital role. While trading never be greedy. If you become greedy while trading then you can be assured that there is 90% possibility to be a lessor.

Yes, this is one of the basic rules that must be repeated over and over again to save people from big losses.
Thanks for reminding!

Re: Hodlers will not change the world
by
Buster2001
on 30/06/2018, 22:00:47 UTC
I guess it is only natural that hodlers will not change the world because hodling in hard times very often means extraordinary patience. Very few people are patient enough to keep hodling since crypto isn't a physical asset like gold or something and as such it might potentially become nothing unlike the good old paper currency. That's why it takes a special kind of guy to keep holding in uncertain times.

However, in the unlikely event that the percentage of hodlers (the ones capable of hodling against all odds) exceeds the traditional level for humans, they might change the world, but the result of it could be unpredictable imho.
