My main problem with flat earthers is that I never know if someone is trolling me and trying to make me believe they are flat earther, they are joking and being sarcastic, or they are earnest.
I think that we can look at this problem from a bit different point of view. Why are you saying that we live in a dishonest society in the first place? All things are just as they suppose to be. The world is as it is because it's meant to be this way. It was "designed" to be "dishonest, cruel, full of drama"... If it were otherwise it would have been the opposite. From such perspective dishonesty of society disappears and a clear view on this topic arises. All we can do is just to try not to get involved emotionally too much in all the troubles which surround us. Let's stay a bit at a distance from everything that is going on around us: both good and bad. Such a remote observation will allow us to take everything in a more easy way.
I like your stoic approach.

I love how everyone wrote the same thing - you need to deserve merits, and to do so, you must have the knowledge about crypto and share it.

Yes, I have the same problem. It makes it difficult for a forum newbie like me to find the topics that interest me the most.
<...> It his own fault why he lose money in the cryptocurrency market. Newbies should focus on improving their knowledge first. They should not fall into the promises like the prediction of McAfee. Of course newbies can easily become a victim of this kind of shit because of their lack of knowledge. But still they can protect their fund if they know what they are doing.
Desperation leads one to stupidity, and stupidity leads to poor decisions, and poor decisions lead to losses--that includes money, information, etc. No matter how knowledgeable a person is, if they're in the brink of desperation, you can't fix that. But then again, there is room for improvement, even if you lose something today, at least you realized something--that what you did was stupid, and will make up for that next time an opportunity arrives.
I agree. It is all about picking up the lessons from the mistakes that you have made. Doing mistakes is pretty normal because that is the proof of someone that he is trying new things in his life and he is continuously improving because if you are not making mistakes then it proves that you are not making progress because you are already good at the level of what you are currently doing.
Having this in mind, I will try not to blame myself too much on my mistakes, but try to learn from them instead.

Re: Would a Crypto Based Economy Make Things Safer?
You're throwing a lot of social issues that are not related to each other, and the roots for some of them aren't event related to money at all, such as substance abuse.
Crypto exist because there's a flaw in the fiat system, which is the lack of decentralization. There might be some side-effects such as an increase of transparency, etc, but it's not a one size fit all solution. Judging from your post, it seems 'safer' means that the number of crime and etc would decrease. I'd say no for that. There's no guarantee. But it will be 'safer' in terms of transactions security & decentralization.
Exactly my thoughts! The world is not that easy to understand. Various factors influence others. While we can predict, to some extent, what can happen based on history and some theories, it is impossible to tell what the actual impact of crypto will be like in the future. However, it's doubtful that it will solve all of society's problems. If it was the case, crypto should be considered as a higher power or some deity. Let's not go this direction.
I don't find any benefit for programmers to promote their work via blog posts. There are plenty of forums and platforms dedicated to the programming community where programmers are able to post their work or improve the code of others and gain publicity...
Agreed. I can imagine a website where you post some of your code as a portfolio when you're looking for a job... wait for a second! There already are hundreds of websites like this. I don't want to be a killjoy but this blog doesn't have a huge potential.

I believe someone else mentioned it earlier but it's important to distance yourself a little and not to buy impulsively. Try to calm down, read more and then make a decision based on your logical thoughts and not the excited and emotional ones.

Re: If Bitcoin is a get rich quick scheme, then fiat is a get poor slow scheme
The tweet has nothing to do with Fiat. I think Op is misinterpreting that, it should be Bitcoin a slow scheme not to be poor.
Exactly! I remember the hype and reposts when someone wrote: "Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme but don't get poor slow one".

I felt like more and more people became aware of the existence of Bitcoin this year but sadly, most of them just treat it as a "get rich quick" scheme instead of a long-term investment. The knowledge is the key here and people need to get more educated about BTC.
We need to understand that irrespective the exploits and grounds that bitcoin have covered in its life if existence, it's still an emerging and every factors that could be responsible for not allowing it go mainstream are just part of the challenges that needs to be faced its when that level of maturity has been achieved without any significant penetration, we can then be discussing about the factors responsible for holding of it back and not now.
Thank you. Finally, someone put it out there nicely.
