Still working on Cachecoin, that what you mean? It is new to crypto from what I have seen, no one has Rewritten the code from scratch yet. And yes still working.

Aleksoo7 actually initially invited me to take up the project again, but for some reason he went dark recently, not sure where he went but I hope he is ok because it was abrupt.

We will migrate everything off this thread and get on to our own domain if he doesn't reappear by when we get to the gui. The wallet is moving along nicely, lots of unit tests are needed at each step. Transactions, signatures, and several other key components are now done. No screenshots to take yet, sorry. Remember this was all planned to be done by Q4, we are months ahead of schedule, so we are doing everything properly and meticulously.

As for slack, no time to be managing multiple communities, if aleks returns he can do it but its not looking to bright on that front.

Once we finished the backend and begin gui I will post pics and a detailed update.

The code isnt being written because CACH is some huge money maker. We were asked to complete this project and the time was right. The rewrite needed to be done by someone eventually, so  it still needs to get done to help everyone.

The devs actually have only a few CACH, but we will not be asking for donations for our work until we show what has been achieved.

That would be highly irresponsible of us to disclose publicly. I will say that everyone on this forum knows btc was a skeleton of a prototype that was built upon that which the creator never finished. So no one is really to blame but us, the users of btc, for not bothering to fix the issues. And lots of things that do not work have a monetary value, like a Kardashian or a government.

Cryptopia was given the same instructions as coinexchange, all we see is that they are too busy.

We like it so far, aleks handles the site for now, but you Never know, maybe its time to update the page. Will discuss it and let you know.

This week was highly productive. We have rewritten over half of the original code into clean oop pure java and included openings for all future changes and items satoshi mentioned in the white paper that btc never implemented. (And a Bunch noone considered adding before.)

At the current rate we will be done much further ahead of schedule than planned. Once we get closer to launch of the new wallet we will start a new thread and focus on this new type of crypto. A modular design is always better and we are adding some security features on the backend to close some attack vectors we found in the original btc code and potential attacks. We are also adding gui mining for the layman, block explorer and statistics and universal trollbox and private encrypted messaging. Crypto has come a long way, we really should have done this years ago to the original btc code.

Update for current work progress. Complete items are written to java already, to be implemented have their entire development planned out and are to be written into java next once prerequisite items are completed.

We considered using the java btc wallet as a template for those who asked via pm, but after reviewing the code just like the c++ wallet it is intertwined with btc with duplicate code and a mess that we will just write it properly.

Disk persistence completed(saving the block chain and wallet to disk)
New anon tx to be implemented (Never before used method, integrated directly into wallet)

Once GUI work begins we will post screenshots.

It will all be done at the same time but keep in mind that is months from now, and while I am out of the country for 2 months it will be a long term project this is not an overnight feet we are working on here. I will be in Germany while awaiting my new visa so if i can work on it there I will.

Just a quick update, work is going well on the code, but I have to leave Russia for Germany for a couple months to update my visa. As you may have noticed the roadmap states Q4 for most of the updates, this is why so everyone knows. So when you are asking about commits and updates, this is why things have slowed for now.

There is only one chain, they need to resync. There would only be a fork if the chain was changed (which there were no changes to), please read up on how blockchains function. The issue with the update just underscores what we are trying to fix, slapping good working code on the testnet and working properly for a week then launching live on the network with an unidentifiable issue is exactly the type of problem we are fixing. We will just push all these updates into the java wallet and stop trying to put makeup on the pig. The btc pig is very cute but its fat, slow, unstable and dirty. And until someone cleans it up its just going to be bad code.

24th has arrived, new protocol is in process. 62.88 (and will adjust often) is the current block reward, 309k h/s is the current network speed. Difficulty is slowly increasing, it appears to be working as intended.

Currently, to receive transactions, you have to configure the wallet to do some mumbo jumbo to process an incoming tx. With the way we are structuring it you can just query the db.

On the 24th CachePOW goes into effect.

While there may be a general consensus that we are supposed to do daily updates with new information. That simply is not how development works. We work on a piece, release it.
