Recently bought Dead Island.

Had a few issues trying to activate it on steam but their online support was fast and quick in helping me resolve my problem.

I would not hesitate to buy from again and will do so in the future.

Thanks

I hope your campaign works, Angelus, I'd like to see the difficulty go down, too.

This.

Angelus -- stop sharing your daily life with us.  No one is interested.

Agreed. Just sounds like someone's mad no one takes him up on his lowball offers.

Everyone wants top dollar for what they're selling, is it really that surprising. Fact of the matter is a 6970 is still the top of the line AMD single gpu card and the only time it'll ever go down in price in any significant way is when their next gen of cards come out later in the year. No amount of bitching and whining is gonna change that.

I don't think you really understand how it works. The workers under the 'owner' aren't giving up any of their earned share to said owner.
They just take in their hash work for that block and apply it to that 1% fee that they took and redistribute that 1% back to minipool owner's.

Re: WTB Rig > 1.0 Gh/s

Considering that 1gh/s equates to bout .75 coins a day and will only get worse as difficulty ramps up you're probably better off just using that money towards investing into bitcoins themselves. Considering that you're willing to spend at most 850 for a 1gh/s rig you could spend that towards about 55 bitcoins at its current rate. That would take a 1gh/s rig over two months at its current difficulty. That's assuming you don't think the difficulty won't go up...which it will.

Yea, I can't access my account either. I'd say it's a little too early to say it was hacked. It could just be their standard maintenance and forgot to post that they are under maintenance.

I have my 5830 clocked at 980mhz
With the new guiminer and polcbm with the flags -v -w256 I'm able to get 315Mh/s. I vaguely remember reading that -w256 produces better results if your memory clock is low if not then -w128 flag was better.

Re: Is Bitcoin mining a waste of time?
by

on 03/07/2011, 14:28:16 UTC
Mining as I see it is sort of a hobby, there's just something fun about tweaking/overclocking your gpu's to find a good balance between power consumption and hash output.

If you start looking at it from a green point of view then yea I guess you could say its wasteful. But seriously, most other hobby's are just as 'wasteful'. People playing games or people who are into racing etc are burning resources as well.

Hi, been mining for a couple weeks figured I'd finally make an acct and post. Anyone else's gaming time lowered because you find yourself wanting to mine than to play that new game you just got.
