Re: Cryptoart.com news - a little update from the Proprieter

Hi Folks.  So it's been a long long time - I've had to move and then had a pretty major surgical procedure leaving me without my dominant (right) arm/hand since early January, so apologies for the absence.    Good new and bad.  The good news is that I sent Troy a note through his site and to his private email.  He did reply.  I said I was just checking in because it's been so long that I was wondering if he had given up hope with the NFT FOMO well behind us. I made a plea to him to sign in here, just to give us an update.  I'm disappointed because it doesn't appear as though it happened.  Please let me know if he has been active.  There is little point in me badgering because my suggestions carry little weight.  So I don't know if anything is or ever really did happen with the NFTs.  Frankly, I think it may be a case of so much the better.  There are less physical pieces in existence not because he stopped selling.  He said he was still working to move the project ahead, but I'll only believe it if I see it.  In crypto we all know that things like NFTs fade out and or die.  So I'll consider the cryptoart.com a dead lend for new work UFN.  If he writes me with news to the contrary, I'll share and let him know what I said.  I'll relay a message but neither myself or most of us should anticipate anything.  But like I said, that means that the physical art that exists is more rare.  I didn't intend to convert or burn.  Has anyone here done so?

Hi Folks,
I have been away for a while and a little distracted but I wanted to post the only info I have had relayed to me in the last few months.  I may have missed a message in my inbox as well but I did get an update WRT Cryptoart.com - I'll post in the next message below .................

message from the Proprietor follows exactly as written (I removed unrelated/irrelevant/personal/DOX content.:

"...... just getting my head above water.

I've partnered with a stellar developer to launch the NFTs, but things are obviously moving much slower than I anticipated.  The issue is that they are building a platform to accommodate other NFT clients, mostly in the gaming space.  I knew that going into it.  The plus side is that I've had a lot of leeway in terms of evolving the specs as we've built things out.  The negative is that it has delayed my timeline.  I anticipated hiring a community manager and someone to help with curation, but I've held off until I can see that the project is ready to launch.  I need to keep the monthly burn rate down while I'm not selling anything.

Here is where we are:  We have a working contract on the rinkeby testnet.  I've been able to make random NFTs and have them be picked up by opensea.  We're working on the front-end for people to claim their NFTs.  I was hoping to see that this week.    Cryptoart is a little different than most projects as existing collectors need to be able to claim a specific title/edition number by signing a contract from a pre-approved address.  Also, we are working on a solution that will allow collectors to convert NFTs into physical art pieces and physical art pieces into NFTs.  This involves locking up the NFT while it is in physical form.   The solution they have come up with involves merkel roots.

Here is my timeline - and some of this is unrelated to Cryptoart ...<<personal unrelated content>>>.... The functionally to claim the NFTs should be done by the time I get back.  However, I'm putting another set of eyes on this, because of the complexity and the importance of getting it done correctly.

Anyway, feel free to relay any of this to others.   I know this is taking forever and people are concerned, but no one has more to gain from getting the NFTs launched than me.  I'm in a similar situation as the collectors right now, as I'm waiting on the solutions provider.

Hope everything else is going well.
............."

I felt that putting the message on the forum board as quoted was OK given the statements therein.  I can say this -

I feel strongly and have a great deal of trust in him, he is a very honest and good man to work with and I am confident in his drive.  Like any project, or at least the majority that I have seen, things take longer and are more arduous than anticipated!

I look forward to the future and hopefully having time to get on the forum more, and spend money I don't have on collectables lol

BTW, I replied to your PM, did you not see it?  If you could, let me know you received my reply.

I've been away and very distracted so if I'm confused please excuse me!  I do appreciate the PM offer however, I've just been a little "distracted" this summer lol ;-)

Hi Folks!

I'm just posting a little note here because I'm sure that I'm not the only one curious how Cryptoart.com is planning to navigate the "cryto-winter" and the seeming shift in (at least those amongst this sub) perceived value of NFTs in general.

I know that there are several community members who plan to continue with their collecting of Cryptoart.com prints in the physical form.  A few have no desire to mint any NFTs at all, especially using ETH.  I'd love to hear what you all think!

Cheers,

Re: Selling Diamond Engagement ring I paid $1700 taking offers!!

Seriously first reasonable offer and its yours.

If you could include all the data about the diamonds and the ring itself that would be much better help to you as seller and potential buyers.  I saw your ad and I looked because I'm post relationship lol...And I have a ring that will be going - So I'm gathering all the data on the diamond(s) and the setting.  The primary diamond or diamonds should, if possible - list the 5 C's - (from memory so I will forget a few lol) - color (clear or colorless or nearly), clarity, cut (often the most important so I heard, that's why I went with better cut over carat size), carat (size), and OFC I forgot the 5th.....

Also list what the size if you didn't and very importantly - the metal of the band - silver or platinum etc.  If it's silver and you know, mention if it's plated too.  I'm definitely no jeweler but I can tell you that I personally paid way too much for a ring when I was young and under the influence of oxytocin and/or other hormones.  This was before BTC existed; a very very bad investment looking back at it.  Hell I even thought it was a bad idea when I walked into the jeweler!  I went back to them around 10 years later to have that thing cleaned and ask what I could get for it. They had always cleaned it and so on so I figured they would be a good place to start.  They offered me about 20% of my purchase price.  Nice!  So I approached a few more shops and they were all in thesame sort of range, I think the high was around 30-35%.  I should have taken the money then and there and bought BTC!

Good luck.  Put in as much detail as you can and you will have better luck!

PS:  Just remembered the 5th C - it is "certification" - so you might not have that.  I think I do, there are a few agencies that certify diamonds AFIK and it lends credence to the rock.

I've not seen a "SWTB" cert brings here, in fact I not sure I've seen any come across my radar on this forum.

I do wish you had the "Satoshi Roundtable IV" that I lack but it seems the less than 50 folks that have them are never here!

I'll be following this and your other post ("Nun" me thinks).   Good luck

PS: I'll ref these auctions if you don't object - for posterity - like so:
BTC block is 740361 apx 11am EST June 11th 2022 and BTC is trading locally at $28,600/BTC.

I'm watching with baited breath!  How will the cryptoart perform over the seemingly impending crypto-winter?  One thing for sure, it seems like a good time to but with BTC down under 30K!  I'm tempted to put one of the more rare unique ones up but I've never done an auction and I really like to hodl my 'duff!

Good Luck all!

For those who haven’t held one, there’s nothing quite like it Grin (what has the collectibles sub done to me?).

What is the base metal?  I see that it's gold plated and that it feels great to hold.

I've been doing work with metals heretofore unheld by me.  I remember the little craze lately about - was it tungsten?  The tungsten cube craze?  I've never held a tungsten cube....

At any rate I think your piece is very pretty indeed...

Now thats a piece I want lol -  the protectionism!

I pledge you this Mopar - If you ever set up a Museum, or showplace in an old fiat bank or whatnot, I'll lend my framed Protectionism to you for display therein.  It could be displayed with a little story of an alt that made all the wrong moves lol...there once was a time long ago when dash was dark before I became the relative maxi that I am today.  But I still think the piece is outstanding and amongst the coolest things I have framed up in the shadows of a unique abode. This big old house with a storied past - at once a camp and a mansion, the Camption.  A camp/mansion.  But it's evolving...into a camp/mansion/citadel -- a Campshitadel.

Relics within.  I say Relic On!

PS: It is Saturday and I've had a few.  I'm turning off the computer and putting away the credit card and hot wallet lol

this reminds me - I sent another message to the guy that had one about a year ago - I asked him again today.

Fingers crossed!  Hibernation may be at play - let's hope it's just a chill and not a long cold crypto winter lol.  Thanks MM!

they got back to me, the piece has been sold and they no longer have it - sorry. I now wish I had bought it back when it was offered initially.

Well, life seems to always show us when we were right with respect to things like that. If it was a fair deal, and it sounded if I recall, that the price was fairly reasonable when the offer was tendered some time ago, that it wouldn't last!  So someone should be the happy hodler of that piece. ;-)

IF that hodlr reads this, please reach out to me!  I have an "Protectionism" Cryptoart print that I'm keeping mainly to trade for Satoshi Roundtable IV!

A half pound bar of copper as a collectible?  WTF?  Has inflation really gotten this bad?  I guess maybe someone might want one of these for a collector's item, but I can't figure out why.  The last thing I'd want is to have to lug this thing around with my possessions or store it for all eternity.  I guess maybe this is the sort of post that won't age well when hyperinflation hits, but I think at some point people need to have the value talk with themselves.  Will this really have value in the future because it has a logo stamped onto it?  I'm guessing most of these things will end up as paperweights or as a reminder to not shop online when you've been taking medication.

Without knowing the price of that item in particular, I would say that I buy things like that - for young relatives - nieces, nephews, ect. - to have for examples of say elemental Cu.  The markings are of value - to them - because it may align with something they know.  If I had that piece, I would gift it to him as an example of Cu, to get a feel for the density, to serve as a basis for inquiry and so on.
