You have to be able to tell if the trend is down or up. If it's up the only thing that would be worth jumping on would be a large sell out for buyers, but catching the sell in time is near impossible, and the price usually rebounds. I've learned my lesson that not every large sell is going to be a crash.

The bears have a right to post here. There are definitely some open ends in bitcoin, i personaly tend to be bullish because I feel the necessity for an alternative currency is imminent. Even if bitcoin stays in the shadows and is used as a currency exchange platform it still will grow marginally for a long period of time.

But you nik... You are completely wrong and the other bears aren't coming to save you because they are ashamed of having you under their title. Eat it son.

I am fairly curious myself as to what the volume actually stands for. Does volume have any directccorrelation to liquidity or volatility in the market?

haha, i was gonna make a couple extra bucks on the quick drop knowing that it would soon raise up, but my work computers were a total lag fest and I ended up losing 50 bucks selling too low....i suppose thats how it goes.

But you see that shit spike back up? RALLY. so sad for those of you who really thought this was the crash ahaha. even the DDOS attacks aren't slowing anything down anymore.

Well i have to oppose. The fluctuation was due to a lack of liquidity in the market. It's currently leveling out. No more big buys, this will soon be a non issue.  Ever tried to buy stocks? The trading system for stock holds is a bit smoother but purchasing in is still about the same amount of effort if not more. You just got lucky and got in early when purchasing is a bit more tedious, but the gains are higher

I think if anything fundamentally needs to change or currently is changing, it's liquidity. The wealth is getting spread much farther between people as more people are entering the market, which controls the volatility of the market. As this aspect continues to grow and we can see more buy and sell walls and no 50% drops or gains in a matter of hours, confidence to not bail so quickly will be in place and then we can start really worrying about the technical application prospect of bitcoin.

Obviously I'm not going to jump on whatever nikola says is going to happen, but consistent accuracy isn't something that I've been able to achieve. I'd be willing to admit my loss in buying over 200 when seeing the market skyrocket trying to hop on that bull train, and then not being able to sell out fast enough on the crash due to lag and cellphone trading -.-... regardless with micro i've been able to compensate for some of my losses and I'm hopeful for the future, but no more blind leaps Smiley

And as I speak we're in an incline with no real buy walls in place.  I Expect a bit more growth out of this before any 20-30 dollar declines actually occur.

I know I'm new to posting but I've been reading speculation board for quite some time and Nikola is the only person that has been nearly dead accurate the entire time, he's only 16 dollars off for today's prediction, and the day hasn't even hit it's rally times yet. I'm in the understanding that being perma bull or perma bear is detrimental to growth in either direction, but being totally bearish after seeing market growth through crashes (as they do tend to naturally occur) seems a bit like masochism.

When the new asic machines ship out, mining will change. The level of difficulty is continually rising and the price of asics are fairly affordable. Home rigs aren't going to perform.

Re: Bitcoin vs Litecoin, where it's all headed...
by

I think litecoin's only real value is what people will lean it against bitcoin. The prices correlate with growth and loss, although exponentially litecoin has been doing well more recently. In the long run there will always be imitators, which you might be able to make money trading or investing, but ultimately they will probably be leaned on bitcoin, so why not just invest in the big guy if you think the future looks well.
