Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning

This is a crazy year for Ethereum, Last year January Ethereum was $10 and with the look of things it seems Ethereum is heading for less than $100. I just pity this ICO projects that solely and blindly hold Ethereum in this bear market , especially those that raise fund when it was @ ATH.

Pity? Are you sure? Most of those ICOs have failed to deliver anything at all; IMO, they deserve to get their total balance slashed by a big percentage.

Agreed. Most ICO are just scam. Do not invest before through research.

All focus is on price and price are not paying attention to basic fundamentals at all. I do agree it is hard to guess the exact bottom and bouncing back area but current price have been very attractive. Ethereum will continue as no.2 most valuable market I have no doubt. Panicked has been spread too deep that main focus has been shifted on changes in prices alone. That is one angle of the picture but need to watch both sides.

If most of the ICO have sold their ETH, then the bottom is near.

I'm confused. Why Eth which is so in demand by the crypto community is so strongly dependent on bitcoin. Their price charts copy each other. Is there really no way to break this vicious link?

Cmon man.... bitcoin is like 7 years ahead (2008) of Ethereum (2015). ETH is consider to be performing very good already.

ETH is doing great. BTC just has the most volume right now among crypto and several people still use BTC to buy ETH. Places to buy ETH with cash is severely limited yet
Thats why the charts follow each other and btc moves then eth also moves with it

You are right. The Bitcoin could be in trouble again. There is a possibility of hard fork to change the PoW. Bitcoin Cash could be a good alternative.

Not everything is measured by money. There is such a very important factor as trust. If bitcoin collapses it will lead to the collapse of the entire cryptocurrency. People no longer believe any suggestions. Do you think it's worth it to the speculators earned a few million dollars? No I do not believe in such predictions.
People themselves are to blame, because they go into it precisely from greed - the desire to find easy money. And the profiteers are professionals.  They use this.

That is right. If all of us do not buy the Bitcoin, the price will not be that high.

Re: zcash soon 0.2 btc!

Zcash coin started trading at almost 20 BTC in late 2016 and crashed below 1 BTC in a week.
Can ZEC/BTC ever go to those highs again? Strictly going by chart yes but practically thinking no way.

Anyway, I got out last time it was near 0.15 BTC or ~$400 USD and have diversified into other
lot cheaper coins with similar technology such as Zencash and Zcoin.

The price of 1Bitcoin or higher was not normal. If the ZEC price is more than 0.1 bitcoin, it is a good achievement.

That is right. The ZEC price is 0.04 bitcoin now. If it is 0.1 bitcoin, that is 150% increase.

Zcash coin is one of my favorite altcoin but I dont think this coin will reach 0.1 bitcoin in this year 2017 maybe possible price of bitcoin before end of this year 2017 is 0.1 . Zcash its look ethereum coin. Zcash for sure gives you a bigh profit in the future so itsbetter if you have zcash to make sure you did not missed any potential coin. Buy more zcash and hold it and make a lot of profit.

I think zec has already reached 0.1 bitcoin in the past few months.

But it is lower now, along with many other coins.

The price in terms of bitcoin, has not dropped much.

It dropped a lot actually. A few months ago, it was 0.15, now it is 0.05.

The higher the price of bitcoin, the greater the overall virtual currency market size. Growing the market is good for all altcoins in general

The bigger market cap could even attract some pension funds.

Yes I think it's matter, because if the value of bitcoin was nothing, nobody would be interested by BTC, so of course his value is interesting. More his value is big more people who have bitcoins will be happy.

The higher price will attract more investors.

i am sure that the difficulties of zec will be increase as there are many starter miners see that mining zec is an opportunity to them and they can get much of zec right now. but its depend on how much hashrate we have to get much of zec, beside that i hope that zec could be increase too.

Yes, but the higher the hashrate you want to have the higher price you should pay for the miners. Idk, I still think that to mine Bitcoins is more profitable because:

1. The price of BTC is more than 20 times higher than the price of ZEC.

2. ZEC is new and unstable, so the price of it might drop even more in the near future.

Anytime bitcoin mine still profitable. even compare with ZEC. Let say if bitcoin can guarantee his price. and everytime the  supply will be decreasing and it will make the price will increase. economy 101.
The mining phase of ZEC still a long.

I still mine the ZEC. It is profitable.

But for the time being, ETH is more profitable.

When the Zcash pump comes, ZEC will be more profitable.

Wait for the ICONOMI team to release their performance funds and ETH shall moon again. This is the best time to buy ETH for it will surely go up. This is exactly the reason why traders stick to coins that dip and rise quicker.
Interesting, I have managed to accumulate a few ETH during the downturn - will be interesting to see if ICONOMI can reverse the trend.

It is quite possible that the Ethereum price will drop again in the next few months. That is similar to other coins.

Hey Claymore, how are you?

Buddy have you evaluated the possibility of dual mining for zcash?

Have a great day guys.

The ZCash mining needs both core computation and the memory bandwidth. So it might not be a good idea to do dual mining.

i talk today with some guys..as its look zcash is under botnet attack..so price will soon hit 100$ or even les and real miners will gone and go back to eth..Wink if its all true, but its look its it,then soon zcash will hit 20$!

CPU-mined currencies have been mined largely by botnets especially for a high-priced coins. We have seen this already with Monero. ZCash will also suffer from same unless GPU-mining surpasses CPU-mining.

It is possible that 50% or more of the hashing power of the ZCash is from the CPU, some of them are from botnets.

Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter?

Off course does a price of an cryptocurrencie matters allot because lots of people are not sugesting you to hold on the price becuase the price means evrything to the bitcoin when
the bitcoin does not have a prce he is worthless.
I agree the price of the Bitcoin is the most important thing, the price is everything to them and because of it not being stable it attracts allot of people.
If it was not for the price of the Bitcoin it would never be as popular.
yes that is a fact that bitcoin is revolving around its price, if the price fall, people loses its confidence on bitcoin, but when the price start rising then people take interest and invest their money more and more.

Indeed its very important for us all, we are depending on the price and if the price was not here no one was really thinking about what could happen with it.
I think the price is important for multiple reasons these days otherwise people would never invest too.
yes that is a fact that the price of bitcoin is necessary for us for multiple reason, people are trading bitcoin for its price, if the price of bitcoin is really going to increase so they will make good profit but the price is going down then it will really cause them lost.
The price is of the Bitcoin is important and yeah it does matter allot because the price lets people decide what they are going to do next.
Are they going to sell because the price is high or are they going to buy because the price is low.

When the price is high, more people will invest in it and buy things with it. The price will be even higher.

Yes the price of bitcoin matters for people and for investors alot. It also shows and reflects the value of bitcoin.
If the price is low then it means bitcoin is doing bad obviously so the higher the price the better it's doing and the more attention it will get. And that is what we are looking for.

I got one question that is popping up my head whenever the price goes down. Are there really that many people who sells bitcoin that time? The real question is why?
Why are they selling? Is there some news that it will go down that is why they panic sell?
Maybe I am just too worried.

Some people are short term investors. When the price rise to their target, they will sell to get some profit.

It does, and always will. Bitcoin is a currency, one of its primary functions being medium of exchange. You can't pay for stuff with something which has no price.

price will always mater no way to be something else reason is simple price is not stable when price of 1 bitcoin become stable i believe that price will not natter that much

I believe that the price can only stop to matter after the overwhelming majority of companies start accepting BTC for their goods and services, and Bitcoin replaces the most popular fiat currencies as a medium of exchange. I don't think that that is achievable - BTC will always stay a niche currency. The niche can grow very large, yes, but it will never be a universally adopted thing. That's my opinion anyway.

The price of bitcoin matters now because it is mainly an investment tool at the moment. When it is a currency, it does not matter.
