Hello!

I still cannot connect to EU server for ETH after some updates on pool servers were performed. Before I worked on EU server for few months.
Have to set Asia server instead, it works.
No difference between miner's settings, except of server address.
I need some help...

tytanic, thank you so much for the dashboard improvement! Now it works fine and doesn't make me to log-in every 30 minutes) It even supports being logged-in from different devices, wow!
I'm so happy with SMOS again  Cheesy

Re: Nicehash hash rate lower than benchmark (bug ?)
by

I would like to bring this topic to top as I have a common problem.

I use RX470 and RX480 on stock settings (C1270 M1750) with Nicehash -> Claymore miner.
RX470 shows 17.7 MH/s in "Standart" benchmark and only 15.8 MH/s while mining.
RX480 shows 25 MH/s in "Standart" benchmark and only 19 MH/s while mining.

Tried to run "Precise" benchmark.
RX470 showed 20.9 MH/s in benchmark, still giving 15.8 MH/s while mining.
RX480 showed same 25 MH/s in benchmark.

Tried to run a single Claymore miner - same mining hashrate.

I know that RX470 should give something about 20 MH/s by stock settings and RX480 should have 25 MH/s.
Power is absolutely more than enough. No throttling noticed in MSI Afterburner.

Hashrate for Equihash is the same in benchmark and mining, so I have to run both cards with equihash getting lower profit.

Many thanks for any ideas...

Hello everyone!
I have lost 1 rig. It connects, gets preferences and works. But I cannot find it in rig list. I tried to switch off all rigs, then wait for 5 minutes, then switch on only that rig. It mines, but no definition on the dashboard. Please, any advice?

One question more, maybe someone knows...
I set my RX460 to default values 1216MHz for core and 1750MHz for mem, and largest power stage 7.
But cards are seemed to work on lower frequencies as shown (being still very cold). Why could it happen?

Bugfixes:
The Rig Group lists does not rename easily, they have som sort of autocorrection or whatever that makes renaming rig groups very annoying

Vote for that also with common problem.
When I edit Rig_Group name or Rig name, the cursor comes to the end of line by any key pressed - so I need to delete whole name and then type it fully again. You cannot change something in the middle of rig or rig_group name. Doesn't affect the hashrate, but still some bug  Tongue

I have a gigabyte B250 fintech motherboard. I just can not get simplemining to boot. No matter if via USB stick or hard disk. I tried Etcher and Rufus. Maybe someone has an idea? Thank you!

I had a same issue on my GA-MA770T and GA-EP43/EP45T mobos.

Try HDDRawCopy1.10Portable.exe - I use only it and really do not understand why does Tytanic recommend Etcher for SMOS.

Hello, i have a problem with simplemining os. I'm running 10 x gtx 1080 ti on asrock h110 btc motherboard.

Don't know how to fix this anymore. Please help.

For my experience there are 3 ways for that:

1. Seems to be your SMOS image was corrupted.
Especially if you use USB pendrive - I had to change all my rigs to HDDs because of that.
It happened after "some reason reboot" of the rig. I had to overwrite the image again.
When one of my pendrives was damaged so that it couldn't be read by any program and PC, I changed it to old IDE HDD, and though that rig could reboot still I never had that "kernel panic" issue ever more. Then I changed all my rigs to HDDs.

In one rig, after using it for months, I found that it would be better to set BIOS RAM settings manually instead of "Auto".
Don't know why, but now it's stable much-much more.

2. One of your card is damaged. Bad issue, but may be...

3. Some settings in BIOS bring some conflict on PCI-e bus. For example: try to swich off unused devices in BIOS (like SATA or USB, Audio and so on).

Hope could help anyway...

Please, link account login to MAC-address, not to IP. It is so f*ing annoying to log-in entering Captcha - again and again every 30 minutes after dynamic IP was changed by internet provider (or after I switched for another tab in my browser for a few minutes).  Embarrassed Embarrassed

P.S.: Or just let user to switch Captcha off in account settings for his own responsibility.

Just a quick noob question ... I saw in my Nicehash Claymore that multi GPU systems require 16Gb of Virtual Memory (Page File). I see here that the minimum required is 7Gb... so is it safe to go with a 8Gb USB, or shall I take a 32GB better?
I am intrested very much too. I've just found that somehow it works stably with 2GB RAM and 5 * GTX1060 videocards (no chance for Windows even with 2 cards). But my USB-flash was 16GB, so I would like to uphold that question. How does it work??!
The most of question posted here can be replied only by Tytanic, but for our sorry he can do it very rarely...

Anyone good tip for me ? Please

Hi,
I think there is no way to use that option in Claymore because of SMOS dashboard's settings for the rig overwrite it allways.
IMHO, not 100% !

Hello everyone and dear SimpleMining Admin first!

I'm a faithful user of SM_OS, but I have few issuies with nvOS that worry me very much. Please, comment if you know:

1. I use HDDs and USB-flash on my rigs. It seems to be that Linux stops hard drive rudely on switching computer off.
I feel it by fingers on 5 different HDDs & can find indirect evidences on USB-Flash too.

Sometimes soft powering down rig (press PWR button shortly) and then switching it on after a few seconds brings me one of the following:

a) OS boots OK, but then it cannot connect to the server. Rig is not seen on dashboard (red). Only rewriting the image to HDD or USB-Flash can help. Often issue after some update. Never appeared before week or two ago. Please, refer to Photo1.
b) OS boot process fails with "kernel panic" (was a few times only, later too). Hard power down + wait 5-10s + power on -> rig starts fine and works.
c) HDD slows down writing speed from 50Mb/s to 3Mb/s [HDDRawCopy]. One HDD behaved so, then after a few issues on "a)" it ceased to be found by bios at all. Today second HDD slowed down it's writing speed right to 3Mb/s and I'm afraid of it's future.  I'm not sure, drives are not new. But every drive worked well and were tested in Victoria HDD program before being installed into rig.
d) Flash drive showed as Photo2. Rewriting the image helped. Appeared a few times before.

2. One of rigs became to show me Photo3 on booting up. There was no message about "Ctrl+D" before on any of my 7 rigs. Rewriting of the nvOS image to the HDD drive hadn't helped.

P.S.: update for a): The only thing that I changed in my hardware during last 2 weks was adding Cisca router to LAN network. It looked as provider_cable + TP-Link WiFi+LAN router with DHCP + 16-channel LAN switch before. Now Cisca Wifi+LAN router added as a simple LAN switch.
I had a problem with my Windows notebook: after some power off-on it appeared to see Cisca as a main internet gateway, but I fixed it by setting gateway IP manualy. Deleting of Cisca router from network did not help on "a)" issue, only image rewrite helped.

Thankful for any advice.

Sorry, don't understand how to add pictures in right way...

Dear tytanick,
I'm a happy user of SMOS and I would like to give you some feedback about a new v3030 dashboard.
If I had a chance I would vote to stay on the old way of showing temperatures and fanspeeds instead of new "fanspeed/temperature field now shows only biggest value" way.
It was useful for me to monitor all cards readings, simply peeking to dashboard from time to time. Now clicking on temp
Hope my opinion can serve for your feedback statistics. Anyway, thanks for your classy SMOS.

Hi, Friends! It's a very urgent topic still. Anyone knows a decision - please, clarify where should "LOCALorREMOTE" setting be set?
Should I write it underline of my email in config.txt file that was created on USB-flash during "nvOS" image burning?
Something like:

Code:
## YOU NEED TO ENTER YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS !!!
## It will be used for rig authentication and managment
USER_EMAIL=admin@mail.com
LOCALorREMOTE="LOCAL"

Or where should it be??

Thanks in advance and best regards!
