Re: Bitcoin connected to our banks!!!
by

This will be a good thing for bitcoin as it will create more usability of the coin but the downside is that banks do not like how sharp the price of bitcoin changes on the market and hence the hesitation. If the price of bitcoin is steady and banks are working with it, I believe it will benefit both parties.

Most of these altcoins are utility tokens and hence have a limitation when it comes to their use. They will however offer some competition which I think bitcoin can be able to withstand.

We should accept bitcoins at supermarkets including grocery stores and clothing shops with a lot of discounts for those who will buy with bitcoin. This might get them to use bitcoin.

Re: Bitcoin is independent? or depends on fiat currency

I support your claim. Currencies are used as a medium of exchange, I hope I'm not wrong. Hence normal currencies adopted by countries are exchanged with each other for example dollar/euro, dollar/GHS and so on. Since bitcoin is a crypto
currency, it also follows the trend making it dependent on fiat currency.

That is the general belief but I've seen coins which goes up whilst bitcoin is going down. What I'm not certain about is if these rising price of these coins is as a result of pumping.

If it comes to the use of digital currencies for transactions, I think every country will like to have its own digital currency.

May be a different currency which is not decentralized because cryptocurrencies like bitcoin cannot be monopolized. Besides it is not all the countries that are in support of it right now and that even makes it harder.

I always thought that per the development of USA, the percentage of people who have heard of bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general are more than 90%. I guess I'm wrong but what it means is that a lot needs to be done to increase the statistic of cryptocurrency awareness.

The time for becoming a millionaire within a short period by investing in cryptocurrency has long passed. Cryptocurrency investment nowadays involve a lot of technical decision making coupled with the ability to foresee currencies with potential to give you high ROI. To all those who came in when the market was booming, it is my hope that things will turn around so as to restore the confidence you have in crypto.

Re: Bitcoin 10 years anniversary, what good news are you expecting come 2019?.
by
Caxton10
on 09/10/2018, 21:02:20 UTC
My expectations are that bitcoin rise up and find ways to battle its competitors. Despite the fact that bitcoin is the highest rated in terms of price, it however has some areas to improve upon. When you talk of transaction speed, bitcoin is not the fastest. When you talk about transaction charges, bitcoin's own is not the lowest. I hope that before we celebrate the 10 year anniversary, these issues are looked at and improved upon as it may help the bitcoin community a lot.

I totally agree with you. If we want to increase the awareness of cryptocurrency, then cryptocurrency should be included in the educational curriculum and high schools and collages are a good place to start.

Like you said in your post, competitions leads to the development of innovations. Bitcoin now has a lot of competitions and some of these altcoins have what the potential to be adopted widely. It is my believe that if bitcoin could improve their transaction speed and reduce the transaction cost, its adoption will be made much easier.

Re: What is your strategy for hodling or selling?
by

I don't have any particular strategy but if I buy a coin, I intend to hold it until I gain high ROI and hence I so not panic and sell if the price is dumping.

I don't blame the merchants for those decisions. It is up for the bitcoin team to work hard and shorten transaction time and it is my believe that this will lead to more adoption of bitcoin as a payment method.

The regulation is necessary to prevent money laundering which may greatly influence a country's economy. KYC verifications will be one of the ways to regulate transactions.

I thought same as the price of bitcoin his been stable for sometime now. It is my hope that, its adoption will increase as banks identify this price stabilization and get involved with bitcoin.
