The hype cycle is definitely winding down. What we’re going to see in the next few months will be new use cases for nfts (like what 4K is doing with physically-backed nfts)

Re: NFTs for physical assets - the future of NFTs??
by

What's the point of physically backed NFTs? I don't get it.

The whole point of NFTs in my opinion is to try to decentralize ownership. But if you back something with a physical asset, all of a sudden you are once again concentrating the value of the asset onto the physical object that is under custody of someone.

I'm sure it'll be done but I don't think that it'll be big. Just like how gold backed cryptos don't make sense.

Gold backed coins failed for many reasons because often times they didn’t even have the gold.

How we get from web2 to web3 will require some layer of verification and I think what 4K is doing is fascinating

Re: No one is using dapps

I think there are useful dapps but I think everyone is frustrated with platforms in which they are located on. I think there are a couple newer platforms that will impress the masses when it comes to creating unique and scalable dapps. MOAC is using their dual layer technology to help with scalability on an enterprise level.

Re: Blockchain 3.0 Cryptocurrency- The next evolution

I definitely think that MOAC is an evolution of a blockchain technology especially on the enterprise level with the way they deploy smart contracts. We all know that if this were to happen on say Ethereum's platform it owuld slow the whole system.

There will definitely be many chains because the competiton is actually relatively good. I was just reading about this on Ampleforth's blog aobut the 'one chain to rule them all'

Re: Which coins to invest in for a beginner

I would say to invest in coins that offer what people are trying to currently achieve such as scalability, privacy and interoperability. I would say look into projects like Grin and Moac and learning about what they do/bring to the table

I like that mentality. Especially when you give people the choice to create an application on top of a platform there will be many innovations we haven't even imagined yet.

I don't think you've had a positive experience with altcoins then. Which ones have you invested in?

There are a handful of great projects coming out that I would reccomend checking out to peak your interest. I think the biggest thing they will bring is a solid unit of account rather than a get rich quick scheme. Have you heard of ampleforth before? they have this idea of creating an elastic supply policy that fluctuates in accordance with demand, rather than changing the actual price. maybe somethign that unique is what could change your mind about altcoins.

definitely doing research and staying optimistic this year with all the noise the media is pushing out. I read this article and found it really positive which was a nice change of pace

I  think it will be good for crypto because it will at least bring some security to investors and holders. And since security will be higher, more investor might be tempted to participate in crypto investments.

that's a good point of view for sure. I just want to know if we can ever have a society where trust isn't a transaction

Re: Top 100 coin BUT only on TWO exchanges?!
by
Ccexicocartel
on 18/12/2018, 22:53:57 UTC
I don't know about you guys but sometimes I go through CMC and research every coin on the top 100. I did notice one the other day ranked 96 atm called MOAC (mother of all chains). Looks like they're sitting around $1 and are only traded on 2 exchanges.

IMO that's pretty impressive. Seems like a very interesting project that's focused on large scale commercial dapps with multi layer architecture. Anyone else heard of MOAC??

I think why coins that is included in the top 100 just utilize only two exchanges is because they have much more control of their coins. They might limit the unnecessary selling or dumping of their coin in the market.

I think so too. All we can hope for is them to get listed on more, but we all know that it's extremely difficult to get listed. MOAC is a solid option though

Re: ETH vs EOS vs NEO vs MOAC vs ICON vs ADA
by

on 18/12/2018, 22:51:40 UTC
Found this interesting chart posted in another thread. Lately there's been lots of awesome blockchain projects coming out looking to solve scalability and cross chain compatibilities. Thoughts on this chart??

Edit: I can't upload the freaking chart, so go to the link below

Nevermind I figured it out lol:

Link to image: https://www.moac.io/resource_MoacComparison.html
This is not a comparison on features, this is a random list of things that chains might have, put into a table. I don't see any value in it. Otherwise:
ETH - biggest community, mature dedicated programming language, best decentralization and the biggest amount of devs working on it. Top 2 in terms of funding.
EOS - other coin that's top 2 in terms of funding. Significant throughput advantage. Worse decentralization, questionable consensus. Otherwise solid dev community and more common language use.
NEO - centralized shitcoin, got destroyed by a simple sybil attack. It does have some community and probably supports the most popular programming language out of all of them - c#
ADA - no-one is ever going to use it. Not just because of the functional programming language, it's the worst possible pick - at least go for OCaml like Tezos.

Thoughts on MOAC then??
