Re: Are Bitcoin securities Legal?

As of right now only accredited investors can invest, also given the fact that the US Supreme court, recently classified it as pretty much money, it is governed by SEC securities rules.

The US Supreme Court has done such thing  - its not even in session.

As far as I can tell 'legal' in the US these days has more to do with how the various 'law enforcement agencies' feel on any given day than what may or may not be in the body of laws/rules/regulations.
In 50k or so laws/rules/regulations I am sure you can find justification for anything - for or against.

Interesting title, how do 'start' nothing? Ok its not exactly nothing but most definitions of anarchy deal primarily with the absence of X,Y and or Z. Starting the absence of things seems a bit contradictory.

Random characters seems a pretty accurate description. Smiley
Exactly what OS are you on?
The current versions are only available for linux64 builds. And you need to start it with the included bash (launch.sh). Hopefully other builds will be available in the near future, or you can download source from github and build your own. (note: If you do that you will still need art and data files from the download and for now local copies of Cal3d and Crystalspace).

What do you mean by 'exchange'?
1)Changing btc in an out of various national currencies?
2)Buying and selling stocks in btc enterprises?

Why would you care about relative volumes and not better deals?

Indeed.
But that original form of trade/barter/currency has nothing to do with the junk the banks float either.

And the main point - a 'central bank' is one point with its own interests which may or may not be 'good'. Miners are a lot of different people with a lot of different ideas. Spread the risk.

And how much is used to make paper money and coins?
And transport them around in armoured trucks?
And keep the power on in ATM Machines?
and ...

Edit to add: and why quote the cost of electricity in dollars? It comes in lots of flavors.

Re: Is credit possible with Bitcoin? Explain.
by
Chet
on 06/06/2013, 06:32:23 UTC
Anything can be abused.
Fractional reserve doesn't seem possible with BTC, no way you could lend btc you didn't have. But it would be possible to create a system that lent $ (or some other fiat) based on holdings of BTC. I don't see why anyone would, but thats a different question.
