Hey Miners,

Kathy processed payouts for the first time today, and she will continue processing payouts each Monday.

A few changes coming with this

- We are suspending the 97% bonus for protected pool miners (it hasn't been used in a couple of weeks anyways)
- If you have any questions or need to request a special payout, you can email Kathy@CoinLab.com
- I will no longer be able to answer your questions about the pools, so please direct them to Kathy.

Thanks, I've had a great time working with you all.  Keep those hashrates up and hardware temps down!

Chris

I'm transitioning payouts to Kathy tomorrow, so this week's payouts will be going out tomorrow instead of today.  Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Sorry, I haven't heard anything about the 90 day thing.  I'm no longer a full time employee of CoinLab and am currently just working for CoinLab as a contractor to transition payouts to Kathy, who will be taking over.

Today's VWAP for redeem pool payouts is $76.49.

Are payments late today or is my Electrum wallet being wonky again?

You didn't earn a full Bitcoin this week (7.6M difficulty! Sad).

With this week's earnings your balance is now over 1 BTC, so you'll automatically be paid out next monday, unless you'd like to request a manual payout via PM sooner.

Can I quickly ask how does one request payout of less than 1 BTC? I have decided to try a different pool for a change (although I must say I've been experiencing nothing but excellent service from CoinLab).

Cheers Pete

Just send me or the CoinLab account a PM saying that you'd like a manual payout, and include your username and which pool you are on.

Nice!  How'd you come by that opportunity?

Patrick Murck passed my contact info along. We know each other through CoinLab.

Fair Play! I liked the part when you held the phone up to your mining rigs. Makes it real for people. They don't get computers but they accept that a physical machine whirring away makes people wealthy, indeed it's the only thing that really ever has.

Yeah, Steve got a kick out of the fact that I was calling him from the room adjacent to mine, because the fans make it hard to have a conversation in my room :-P

I feel like it will take an eternity to re-earn the bitcoins I lost in coinlab shares. No offense, guys @ coinlab. pay me. I only mine on your pool by accident at this point - all of my other pools have failed over at that point. I should've never agreed to 95% and a fiat denominated PPS for redeem points as some type of "reward" for my dedication. In retrospect, that's insanity.

The redeem points were a hedge against Bitcoin decreasing in value/profitability, but it can go both ways. I don't think it was insanity; I'm pretty sure we all signed up because we expected profitability to decline. And thanks to unrelated economic developments, it (happily) hasn't.

That being said, I would love to see a formal procedure for credits buy-outs. I know Giga tried to sell his shares awhile back on the forums and was told he couldn't, but that Coinlab could possibly work out a private deal with him for a reduced percentage of his share value.

Interesting idea: I think it could be good for both sides.  I'm passing it up the chain.

Are there any issues in paying out the balances?

Last txn was on 26/03 for the week 2013-03-17 - dont seem to have been paid out since

Nope.  Looks like you earned less than one full bitcoin on the week of the 24th, so your account was not flagged for automatic payout this Monday. Send me a PM if you'd like me to process a manual payout for you today. Otherwise, you should be above the 1 BTC threshold for next Monday.

Hey miners,

We've resolved our issue, and are now generating work properly again.  If you switched to a backup pool during the downtime, you can now switch back.

No accepted shares were lost, and we are paying full value for these shares done on the malformed work we were sending out earlier today: it was our bug, not your problem.  The bug has been fixed, and we're now generating valid work again.

Thank you for your patience, and our apologies for the inconvenience!

Chris

In light of the forked chain last night, would anyone be able to confirm that coinlab is using .7x client or earlier?

We are running a 0.7x client.

The fork appears to have caused a problem with the way we generate work.  We're searching feverishly for this bug: fixing this is currently our highest priority.

Will post further updates as news comes in. Thanks for your patience.

My overall stats for the protected pool seem to have frozen at 43.48 hours into this week, although it accurately reports my current hashrate. Anyone else having an issue?

Servers are temporarily down while we solve this issue.  We're working full steam to get this back up.

We will not lose any accepted shares (and have a redundant backup of accepted shares), but until servers are back up, your miner will be temporarily idle.  You should switch to a backup pool while this problem is resolved (but we hope to have servers back up very soon).

Sorry for the inconvenience, and we'll keep you posted on our progress.
