So I have a bit of a head scratcher maybe one of you can help me out with.
I have 4 cards - 2x Gigabyte OC Gaming RX560's, one XFX RX560 4gb and 1 asus 4gb RX560. When I have them all hooked up, the gigabyte cards get around 13.5mh/s, the xfx gets 10.5mh/s and the asus gets 9.5 mh/s. All are set to Compute mode except for the Asus which for some reason I can't as there is no option to do so. Here is the head scratching part...The gigabytes always get around 13.5, but one day I disabled them just to play around and the XFX and Asus cards jumped up to 13 & 12 respectively. I plugged the gigabytes back in and boom they both went down again. I thought it could be a power supply issue as I only had 500w. I bought a 750 80plus gold Thermaltake PSU with the hopes and dreams of solving this issue but alas...it did not. I know I should just chuck those other two and get two more gigabyte cards but i have sunk more money into this than I wanted to already.

Any ideas you folks may have would be greatly appreciated!

PS...I have modded the bios of all 4 cards, the asus even shows as 16CU now.

That's really strange. You should get at least 1Mh/s extra instead.
Could you compare timings of the 2 mods, please? Are the timings same? If not, try to move your timings to the mod I've made.
looking at it in PBE the timing straps are exactly the same as when I used One Click...should I be looking for something different?
Ok. Could you share your mod, please?

Sorry it took me a bit....had a lot going on this week

I zipped up all of the modded ones.

So thanks 1337toolz for the rom! It unlocked 16cu which is awesome. Just for some reason every card decided to take a hit of over 1MH/s so I went from almost 51 to just over 45. I redid the bios with the one I created and boom! Back up to over 50. Weird. With 14cu that ASUS card gets between 11.6 and 12 MH/s but when it unlocked to 16cu it dropped down to 10.2 and it took down the other three cards as well. I also lost the compute function in the Global settings but it is running where it was running before so no harm no foul

any one try this cards

Gigabyte Radeon RX 560 4GB OC GDDR5 GV-RX560OC-4GD
singel fan

ASUS Radeon RX 560 4GB GDDR5 RX560-4G dual fan

what is your hashrate

Yes, I had a couple of the Gigabyte Radeon RX 560 4GB OC GDDR5 GV-RX560OC-4GD - Were locked to 896 shaders, Micron memory, so after some searching and following some instruction I unlocked them to 1024 shaders, also found a custom strap for Micron memory flashed it all back and managed to get 13.6MH/s.

Also purchased some Gigabyte Radeon RX 560 4GB Gaming OC, running PBE OneClick, getting around 14.8MH\s at the moment.

Mind if I ask how are you getting 14.8 with that card? I am only getting 13.3 with PBE OneClick and my memory set at 1950/850. I bumped it to 2000 but there was no real difference in hashrate so I dropped it down a bit. I tried overvolting the ram a bit at 900 and 950 but again I saw no difference so I dropped it back down to 850.

The Asus is only 14cu so I think that one is about as good as it is ever going to get.
Did you try to unlock 16?
No cuz I honestly did not think that was possible.

No cuz I honestly did not think that was possible. I am assuming it is just a rebranded 460 as even the bios says baffin while the other three say polaris.

So I got it all up and running today! And that is mainly because of all the advice I found here! Just wanted to say thanks!

ASROCK AB350 Pro
8gb ddr4 ram
AMD A6-9500 Bristol Ridge Dual-Core 3.5 GHz
120GB SSD
Win10
500watt enermax PSU

I have 4 cards.
Running the 18.2.2 drivers all on Compute mode

The best ones I have are the gigabyte RX560 OC Gaming cards. With PBE oneClick and mem at 1950/850 I am getting around 13.4 MH/s
The Asus RX560 OC-EVO with PBE gets around 11.9 with 1925/850
The XFX RX560 with PBE gets around 12.3 with mem at 1750/850.

The gigabyte and asus card I can't push past 2000 and there is no difference in MH/s so I dropped it a little. The XFX is a head scratcher as I can push the mem to 2250 but anything after 1750 shows no benefit. The Asus is only 14cu so I think that one is about as good as it is ever going to get. In total I am getting around 51MH/s which isn't bad but if anyone has any advice as to how to bump that XFX card up I am open to ideas.

Hey Guys,
thanks for all your help so far. I think I have the overclocking and undervolting down and my two cards which are NOT rebranded 460's are getting 10.5 MH/s consistently. The other one can barely get over 8MH/s.

I think it's time to look at modding the bios but as much as I read up on it the more I need some help. There are a lot of terms I am not picking up and I would like to ask if someone oule help me out and mod these for me. Unfortunately given the scarce nature of the cards I have 3 different cards.

Asus RX 560 OC -Evo

Gigabyte RX 560 Gaming OC

XFX RX 560 RX-560P4SFG5
https://www.dropbox.com/s/tl9n39iu2x5satq/xfx-Polaris%2021.rom?dl=0

Even if I can get gigabyte and XFX to 13 and change that would be a 30% increase which would be awesome!
Any help you could give would be appreciated. You folks have been great!

Bump!  Anyone?! If not let me know I'm cool either way.

Try asking over at the Anorak.Tech forum. It may take a bit of searching and asking but they are a helpful bunch.
https://anorak.tech/search?q=rx560%20category%3A12

Or you could try PolarisBiosEditor and just use the "One Click" option.
https://github.com/jaschaknack/PolarisBiosEditor (you only need the 'PolarisBiosEditor.exe').
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1882656.0 (variant of PBE).

Don't forget to run Pixel Patcher after flashing https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher

I have to admit I was a little afraid to run the PBE but the one click tool made it seem like I was just being a big chicken! I updated all the bios' (and saved originals in multiple places) so I will let you know how it goes after I flash them.

Much appreciated!

For anyone that is looking for a bios for the Gigabyte RX 560 Gaming OC 4GB cards with Hynix memory, here is a bios that works great.  Use the following settings with it.  Power Limit % -15, Temp. Limit 90, Core Clock 1149, Memory Clock 2000.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1xIME2dGdYKYwbi1AijagSMeQTnfMz7rH

What hashrate you getting with this BIOS?

What driver you using? What OS?

What temps card running at?

What strap you using?

speeds & voltage set in Claymore or Afterburner or other?

I am curious as well as I could really use it if its good

Probably 6Ghz hynix memory card. These can do 13.5 tops with some mem. errors. I did not found any timing strings for it. I use 1625 strip in 1750 and that is best I can do with it. Mem string for standard hynix don't work, as it simply can't reach more then 1900mhz and all the timings target 2000+

So the card came stock at 1750 MHz so I don't think its a 6Ghz memory card. I actually have this running at 2000mhz for the memory right now. I haven't checked the errors but its still running 10.5mh/s according to claymore. As for the rest....lets pretend I have no idea what you are talking about.  Wink

So I kinda gave up on my Asus RX560 EVO OC as even @-10°c in the garage the card was still pushing 90°c with the fans at 100% and I was barely getting over 7MH/s. Anyway I bought a Gigabyte RX560 Gaming OC card and I managed to get it stable with 1100 / 850 timings and 1950 / 850 memory. It uses Hynix memory and at most it is hitting 40°c with no fan. The catalyst drivers let me change it to Compute so I thought I was well on my way! Still stuck at around 10.5 MH/s however and I don't know how to get it up past that? If I found a bios for this card what EXACTLY is that going to do that I haven't done? Huh

A noob looking for a little guidance if you could.

I picked up the ASUS Rx 560 OC Edition and threw it into an old spare PC with intention of learning more about mining and figured it was relatively cheap so if it doesn't work out or I fry the card I am not out too much money. I am using Claymores dual miner and the August edition of the AMD mining drivers on windows 10. Two things that are happening.

1) I run Claymores script and the card spins up to 90°c with the fans at 100% before shutting down about a minute later. I moved the rig to the garage as it's around 0°c and I added an intake case fan blowing directly at it. Card is still averaging 86°c while the interior of the case is hovering around 10°c.  This does not seem right and my guess will burn the card out pretty quickly.

2) Daily average from ethermine.org is around 7MH/s which is about half of what is reported heere on this thread.

So does anyone have any tips, tricks or a stable BIOS update that would help either of these issues (perferrably both)? Also given my noobness what are straps and strat referring to?  I am sure there are more questions I will need to ask but baby steps.

if I get this figured out then I will start to ramp up with a number of cards and an open air rig.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Ok...so I did pretty much all of that...there are a few things I had already done, I couldn't do or weren't available anymore but man it still ramps up right to 90° and I am getting just under 10MH/s on average. I tried setting the limit on the temp but overdrive Ntool throttled down the fans so much it crashed. The temp in my garage was -3° so I set the min and max of the fans higher and it seems relatively stable but I can't get it to push any higher or be any cooler....sigh...

Try earlier versions of Claymore, some people report better results with older versions on less powerful cards, or try mining a CryptoNight coin, they use less power:

First off I want to say "Thank you" for your willingness to help. I really do appreciate it. Quick question. As I said beofre this is an old psare machine so this card is running on a PCi-E x16 2.0 slot. Could that be part of the cause? If you use a riser with multiple cards are the 1x slots you are using all PCI-E 3.0 as well?

If that is actually the case then I have to start weighing in the cost of a new rig.

Thanks again.

Load latest AMD drivers and select 'compute' mode, don't know if it's an option for the RX560, but it may be there.

You may need to flash the BIOS to get a better hashrate, have a look here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1882656.0
If you mod the BIOS you may also need to run this "atikmdag-patcher-1.4.6.zip" https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher

The type of PCI-E slot will make no difference to your mining hashrate. I have used a variety of motherboards, from old to new, and not had any many problems with the hashrates.

So unfortunately no Compute option comes up for the card the way that I have seen it come up for others...even with brand new drivers. I tried the 15.12 drivers Claymore suggests but they wouldn't even recognize the card. I download brand new drivers and did what i could with Wattman. I have to admit I am a little nervous flashing the bios with that tool as it keeps coming up as a virus when I download it. Some of the comments say its ok...some not....I am a little on the fence on that one. Before I tried downloading it I backed up the bios on the card and it came up Baffin.rom so even though I bought an RX 560 it sure looks like a bought a rebadged 460 unless you guys know any different?

As for Bios modding....that is a little too far out of my league. I can post mine if someone would be kind enough to help me.

Hey guys.. I picked up a couple Asus Radeon RX 560 4gb Evo Oc edition cards, and am getting about 13Mh/s each just with wattman..

My question is, when I try to mod the bios, the memory only goes to 1500, and apparently there is on 14cus..

Is there anything I can do to get the memory past 2000, or should I just smile with what I've gotten?

if you don't mind my asking...What are your settings in Wattman? Also what temp is that card running right now?
