Re: Is anyone actually going to buy the 600 GH/s BFL unit after their customer serv?

BFL wont ever get anymore business from me. Paid 50 BTC for miners. Had they been delivered on time, would have made that back + small profit.
Now will be lucky to make 10BTC back.

Open up the street lamp outside ur house. The jally should fit nicely in the cable space at the bottom, and it should also be within wifi distance of ur house Wink

Where's the logic in the price of these?

At current difficulty (19M) they would mine 0.26BTC per month (thats 10 months ROI assuming no difficulty increase, before you see a profit).

In the next 3 months you will see difficulty at ~ 60M meaning these will only mine 0.08BTC per month. (fast heading towards 2 years ROI).

In fact they may never pay for themselves.

If you've got $200 to spend just buy bitcoins.
If you've got 2.2 BTC might as well just keep hold of them.

IMO these are not worth more than 0.5BTC each.

Sorry but i think you've just priced yourself out of the market.

I pre-ordered in march from BFL @ ~ $25/GH
Even now their 500GH Minirig is @ ~ $50/GH

KNCMiner's Jupiter 350GH works out @ ~ $20/GH

You're essentially offering PCB design service and using Avalon Chips for ~ $125/GH

I was holding out to invest in CM3/4 but your current pricing model is way out.

...but which one has an August 2013 delivery date? Wink

Exactly CM4 will be there August.

So, the ROI on CM4 is still at least 5-6 months before you start to see a profit.
My BFL order will be with me August/September and making profit in less than 1 month.
If KNC deliver in September/October they will be profitable within 6-8 weeks (still some 2-3 months before the CM4 turns a profit)

Whilst i believe enterpoint have the competency to pull it off anything above $70-75/GH makes zero economic sense just for the privelage of having the gear sooner. (very same reason i won't invest in Erupter blades)

Far to many HW errors there. What are the pool stats reporting? I guess you're only getting about 3GH/s at the pool.

Ok i've compiled terracoind ok no issues there.

It's in xubuntu@xubuntu~/terracoin/src/ (ie /home/xubuntu/terracoin/src/)

I now need to create .terracoin/terracoin.conf which fails due to permissions error when using 'nano' or 'cat'.
sudo nano /home/xubuntu/.terracoin/terracoin.conf (wont save)
sudo cat /home/xubuntu/.terracoin/terracoin.conf (wont create)

So where the hell is .terracoin as it's not the same dir as ~/terracoin

Re: Cgminer Xubuntu not detecting GPU's
by

on 20/04/2013, 23:56:45 UTC
Turns out it didn't quite fix things.

Cgminer now detects the cards but it just generates Hardware errors.

Not sure what version as it didn't say, just said 'Experimental Beta Drivers' so i guess it was 13.3.
Probably the version listed here is what it installed:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx?type=2.4.1&product=2.4.1.3.42&lang=English

So far Version 13 either fails to compile correctly or generates hardware errors in both Ubuntu 12.04/Xubuntu 12.04
Standard flgrx (i assume these are the open source drivers) failed to work.

So i'm working my way down this list now until i find one that does work:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/previous/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx

Fixed by installing the 'Experimental Beta' proprietary drivers from AMD via the 'Additional Drivers' in the settings panel.

Cgminer Xubuntu not detecting GPU's
by
Clearfly
on 20/04/2013, 03:17:53 UTC
After trying Ubuntu 12.04 and it totally failing to even install ATI drivers correctly i moved onto trying Xubuntu 12.04 with a slight improvment.

Aticonfig is detecting my cards correctly but CGMiner is not detecting any of them.

Code:
xubuntu@xubuntu:~/cgminer-master$ sudo aticonfig --adapter=all --odgt

Adapter 0 - ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
            Sensor 0: Temperature - 42.00 C

Adapter 1 - ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
            Sensor 0: Temperature - 35.00 C

Adapter 2 - ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series
            Sensor 0: Temperature - 35.50 C
xubuntu@xubuntu:~/cgminer-master$ export DISPLAY=:0
xubuntu@xubuntu:~/cgminer-master$ export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
xubuntu@xubuntu:~/cgminer-master$ ./cgminer -n
[2013-04-20 02:57:33] CL Platform 0 vendor: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
[2013-04-20 02:57:33] CL Platform 0 name: AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing
 [2013-04-20 02:57:33] CL Platform 0 version: OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1113.2)
[2013-04-20 02:57:33] Error -1: Getting Device IDs (num)
[2013-04-20 02:57:33] clDevicesNum returned error, no GPUs usable
 [2013-04-20 02:57:33] 0 GPU devices max detected

Any ideas?

Running Headless USB Xubuntu 12.04

Graphics Drivers: sudo fglrx fglrx-amdcccle fglrx-dev
Then intitialized with: sudo aticonfig --adapter=all --initial
Then AMD SDK 2.8, ADL 5.0, CGMiner Master branch.
Rebooted inbetween etc.
