Re: Everyone looses in the long run

This is obvious. Everybody DOES lose, because of the fact that there's a house edge and you're not infinitely wealthy. It's simple statistics, really.

It's only obvious if you gamble constantly and incessantly as mathematically you will eventually hit a unrecoverable losing streak due to lack of funds but many gamblers can stay in profit without bankrupting themselves so its not a gurantee for the small percent that are really lucky or have the relevant skills to make good bets. I think casino gambling is also much easier to lose on then say sports betting. Casino games are usually ramdom whereas sports you can use educated guesses.

In bitcoin I gambled about 0.5. Got it up to about 1.2 then lost it all so I quit. Should have quit whilst I was ahead but didn't so lesson learned. I'm good at sports betting though and am up a few thousand in that but that's over a few years so gains over time.

Re: General Football Discussion - 2015/16 Season
by

They sold Di Maria, Chicharito, Van Persie, Falcao and only bought one striker back..... Van Gaal is destroying United.

City buys TOP quality players such as Sterling, De Bruyne and Otamendi. United buys mediocre players as, Schneiderlin, Sergio Romero, Matteo Darmian, Memphis Depay... Bastian Schweinsteiger and Anthony Martial are the only good signings they made this season.

It's not Gaal's fault. People are always quick to blame the managers but it's the players on the field who should be blamed for not puttin g the ball in the back of the net.

No premier league games today cos of the Euro qualifiers Sad . They should play them midweek.

Benteke, Sturridge and Lallana out against us reds!!! United easily going to win 3-0

Martial rumored to be joining stoke city for a 12 million fee in 2017

Wales above ENGLAND!!!!! IN THE FIFA RANKINGS AHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA England deserve to be 3/4 they are potentially world beaters whilst wales are just below average

So you three sockpuppets just signed up to post that? Don't make it too obvious.

Re: OpenBazaar - decentralized eBay

OpenBazaar Can't competitor to eBay in anyway.  But OpenBazaar is good platform for Bitcoin users to shopping.

and it can't compete with eBay because ... ??

Let's be honest, it's not really going to do any damage to ebay. Ebay is too big. It's like comparing fiat to bitcoin. Sure they are different brands of the same thing but it's unlikely bitcoin is ever going to over take over or get close to fiat much like OB is to ebay.

interesting you pick a "black" girl with 90% aryan features

Interesting that you pick an aged aboriginal woman to make your point about an entire 'race'.

You thick, uneducated... I'll stop myself here. You should figure out your place.
Do some biology, just a bit of information, us whities mutated because we couldn't get enough sun so our skin melanin broke down.
There is no difference between races, other than social constructs that all of us create for ourselves.
Then again, you don't care. Go suck your brother's cock, you damn inbred!

If you took all the make-up and photoshop probably wouldn't be much difference  Grin. I've also seen that woman on a couple of documentaries. She's probably far smarter than the white girl. What does that say about your 'master race'

Looks like we still have a long way to go before Bitcoin will be accepted

What makes you say that? Judging by their criteria they should have already added it to their dictionary as bitcoin is frequently mentioned in the media and articles. Besides both bitcoin and cryptocurrency are in the Oxford dictionary: http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/bitcoin

For anybody here who knows anything about this, can you tell me if it's possible to use the faucets to acquire bitcoins, then sell them?

Example: I get 1 bitcoin, I go onto an exchange site and sell it and receive £180.

Well sure you could do that, but it'd probably take you all year to get a whole bitcoin from a faucet. You only get dust for them and certainly not worth your time doing. IF you want to earn any significant amount of coin you'll just have to earn it other ways I'm afraid.

Re: Loan Collaterals ???
by
Clegg
on 16/07/2015, 20:11:05 UTC
Is a jnr even worth 0.01? This is why you get collateral that is worth a lot more then if they do default you can easily get your money back or maybe even more than you originally lent out if the account is decent. For instance, if you take a Hero as collateral lend out 0.2-0.3 or something. If they scam you you could probably sell the account for much more than 0.3 so you've made good profit. In fact, better for you if they do scam but getting decent collateral usually means that they will pay you it back so it's a good guarantee.

Re: Bitcoin is NOT a currency debate!
by
Clegg
on 16/07/2015, 19:58:30 UTC
An it has nothing to do with trolling. It's a debate. Substantiate your argument and join in.

You need to learn to quote properly. You don't need to double post with massive walls of quotes each time but I've already substantiated it, but you haven't other than posting your incorrect opinion constantly so you need to substantiate yours or provide something more than hasn't been disproved time and time again. You're not going to change any ones opinion here but you can keep parroting it like it means something.

I could guarantee you that you would find more people how would accept a piece of gold before they would accept a bitcoin. Following your logic, gold is currency...

Could you guarantee me that? Show me this guarantee. I'm not saying gold can't be used as currency, for instance gold coins, but most people won't accept gold coins or bits of gold for things, but you can't make your piece of gold divisible to pay for a packet of cigarettes nor could you get your change back in gold. In fact, I'd say it far easier and quicker to buy cigs for bitcoins than it is gold, so regardless of you saying bitcoin isn't a currency over and over that's just your opinion, and one where you're wrong.

And a lot more people would accept smoke since this is the most used "currency" in jails around the world.

Thanks for the argument Smiley So, until bitcoin reaches the same level of acceptance it's NOT a currency

Oh, look, the troll has an alt account. So cigarettes are currency now but bitcoin isn't? Just because you keep repeating the same thing over and over doesn't make it true, though maybe in your head it does.

Re: Bitcoin is NOT a currency debate!
by
Clegg

From all of the anti-bitcoin arguments against it not being a proper currency that i've heard (and trust me i've read TONS) im yet to see a single one that justifies such claim. Every single claims end up being a critique of how it lacks intrinsic value or how it lacks a proper marketcap to be less volatile, both already refuted.

Ok. Let me ask why do we want it to be a currency? Maybe you are looking for credibility? But if all the arguments or critique have already been refuted in your opinion why is bitcoin still only used for gambling and speculative trading and not as a currency? What's stopping it if it's such a panacea?

IF you can buy shit with it it s a currency. Why do we want it to be a currency? Because it's arguably the only fair and not corrupt one. Not sure where you get all that bitcoin is used for is trading or gambling either.

To buy shit you do not need currency. You can buy shit with gold, a promissory note, or smokes if one is in jail. Bitcoin has some characteristics of currency in particular it's a medium of exchange. The only intinsinc value that it has is based on the fact that it is a pretty good medium of exchange but it would be nothing of there was nothing to exchange it for.

If we say that it is not a currency than regulators of this would let it be, if we continue on the path of enchuching onto the hegemony of USD they will shut it down. All they have to do is to say it's illegal and it would be game over for bitcoin.

Using smokes is bartering, not buying something. Gold isn't really a valid currency because it is not easily divisible. How do I buy a pack of smokes with a gold bullion? I can't. But wait, I can buy them with bitcoin. Why are you not making the same arguments against fiat?  Is that not a currency too?T he gov are not going to shut it down. They'll regulate it because they want to tax it and if people are using it a a currency - which they are - then they're not going to leave it alone so everyone can just have their money to launder or use without having to pay taxes on it. Bitcoin is a currency so stop posting rubbish or half-assedly trolling.

Same as BitcoinAccepted here, im not going to be using anything ilegal. I don't want my coins to be mixed with coins that have illicit origin. Thats the problem of a public ledger, if you get some coins that are proved of illicit origin it may be a problem for you. Who would accept them as payment?
Well since BTC is not refundable it shouldn't be a problem, but it still hurts its fungible features.

There's no way to tell where your coins have come from so if you're worried about this you should be mixing your coins adequately and also making privacy your number one priority. Just because the same site is selling dodgy stuff doesn't mean your coins will be mixed with dirty ones either. As far as I'm aware money goes to some sort of third party escrow agent so it's not like Silk road where they would hold onyo your coins.

If OpenBazaar has listings including drugs / weapons etc on there then I won't be using the platform and I know of many other legit retailers who would follow the same principle.

Its going to be further complicated by individual country laws ie. UK You can sell either seeds or hydroponic equipment but you can't sell seeds and hydroponic equipment together because we have laws covering incitement. It is illegal to germinate a cannabis seed in the UK so listing a propagation light or advising a customer on growing techniques along with your seeds is covered by encouragement laws. It is not even necessary for there to be evidence of a crime being committed to secure a conviction for the incitement part.

If the items you list are legal in your home country and in the country you ship to then I see no problem. It could get messy very quickly though.

This is why I'm unsure of how well it is actually going to work. I think there should be different versions of open bazaar and maybe they will. People really aren't going to be wanting to be listing 'legit' items on a site where you can buy drugs or the worst type of porn. There should be specific sites for each thing. For those that want to buy drugs they should go to the decentralized market on the darknet and for those who want to buy candles or alpaca socks they go to another on the clearnet. Regardless I'm sure it's only a matter of time before a decentralized deepweb market pops up (of there isn't one already - though I haven't heard of it).

You could have a vitamin d deficiency as that can lead to tiredness and fatigue, but to rule things out you'll need to go have some tests done.

Personally, before going to the doctor, I'd take a look at what I was eating, like Hot Carl suggested. (Who refers to themselves at Hot Carl anyway?)

I'm assuming it's a reference to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_Karl_%28slang%29

It was referenced on South Park one time and that's where I heard it.
