Re: How often do you join airdrop?
by
Coin.Master636

I have only joined one airdrop: the DeepOnion airdrop. It's a very rewarding AirDrop, but was pretty difficult to join in the beginning. There are only 882 active AirDroppers currently. A couple of months ago it was hovering around 500 for a while.
I think you should only join AirDrops of coins you are planning to buy anyway. Usually it requires some work before being able to join, so coins without a future seem a bit useless to me.

Re: Best altcoins to day trade?

Most well known altcoins are good to day trade. Fluctuations vary daily, not much predictable. Even fake/shitcoins can be great for day trading, but you should get out soon enough. Long term investments is a completely different story, as there you have to keep in mind the goals of the project and the mass adoption.

Re: Too many ICOs

Usually I don't really care about ICOs. I mostly invest in coins which are already on the market.
Sometimes I'll check out an ICO if it crosses my path or a friend recommends it. I'm not really fond of ICOs.

There are no stable cryptocurrencies at the moment because there is no regulation. That's the beauty of cryptos. They're extremely volatile. They can seem stable for a while, but suddenly drop or boom extremely.
If you're looking for stability as in FIAT, you should stick to FIAT. Why would you invest in cryptos in that case?

Overall, still in the green here as well. Some coins in the red, but most in the green. I started trading in October 2017. Can't wait for what the future holds!

It's a great time to buy!! Love the prices nowadays! Let's hope the surge in March will be as huge as ever! Money is always transferred from the impatient to the patient. You choose which one you'll be.

Only by using a wallet, you really own the coins yourself. If you like to trade, I recommend spreading your funds over a couple different exchanges. Never put everything in one coin or on one exchange.

Re: Coins with potential to x100?

I think it's better to invest in many different coins and take part of the profit when they reach between 150% and 500% gains. Then invest that part of the profit in another coin. By just gambling on which one will reach x100, you will miss a lot of profit.

Re: Did Verge pump only because of McAfee?
by

I think many people were watching Verge, but John McAfee gave the start signal, the spark it needed. This one man is popular and followed by many, but he wouldn't be able to influence useless coins in a meaningful way. Quick pump & dumps are always possible, but the way Verge grew was not only his doing.

I still think Verge isn't that great of a coin, but who am I? Cheesy

Are you looking for FIAT withdrawal too? If not, I can recommend Kucoin (https://www.kucoin.com/#/?r=E62l7t).

In my experience, Kucoin is very fast, nicely designed and growing every day. They are already doing server upgrades before it's even necessary, where Kraken for example is doing upgrades way too late and too little.
I'm using Kucoin while waiting for the NVO DEX, I hope this will become a very mainstream DEX with high volume.

If you want to register on Kucoin, you would do me a great favor by using my referral link: https://www.kucoin.com/#/?r=E62l7t . They also have their own coin (KCS) which is growing steadily. Holders of this coin get small amounts of all the listed coins on Kucoin periodically. The amounts are increasing with volume increases on Kucoin itself.

Re: Problems with crypto - we arent there yet
by
Coin.Master636
on 03/01/2018, 21:07:13 UTC
There are still many problems in crypto:

- This year we had many HARD FORKS.
- high transaction costs ($40,- btc)
- transaction speed
- realy decentralized? Who are the big players, who decides the hard forks..
- almost all crypto needs to be payed with btc
- ICO’s - to much greedy and some good projects

We arent there yet. But these problems wil be solved  Grin
Maybe in 2018..

I really don't like the fact that BTC is used as the base crypto. Why should we have to buy BTC when we want other cryptos? BTC is way too expensive and slow. Exchanges should make more trading pairs available for all coins.

I would prefer alternative means of verifying transactions. I don't like the fact mining is using so much electricity for relatively simple tasks. (I know the algorithms aren't simple, but the action "verifying" is.) Cryptocurrencies are about the future, but there won't be a future if we destroy the environment :-)

Re: Why are people buying Ripple?

On the other hand: transaction times are pretty fast and fees are usually pretty low, so it is perfectly usable.

Perfectly usable for what? Is anyone using it for said purpose?
For transferring cryptos. I know a lot of people in my vicinity preferring Ripple for transferring between exchanges because of the speed and low fees.

is there a quick way to get invested? i'm still waiting for my bitstamp verification, don't know how long it will take...

why are the asian countries investing that heavy in Ripple, hat is Ripples unique selling preposition that makes it that strong?
I am still using Kraken for Ripple. Changed to other exchanges for other currencies because of the down time and crashes on Kraken servers. Would love to hear good alternatives. Will probably switch to NVO when the DEX goes live.

Re: Why are people buying Ripple?

  • it is explicitly (or at least formerly) not considered a currency
  • it is centralized (the company can freeze accounts if it wants, create more coins, or be sued)
  • it's major use case is for inter-bank transfers. So if Bank A and Bank B was to exchange currency x for y, they will use XRP in-between. But this gives no value to the currency itself, it is just used as an intermediary. Is it conceivable that Ripple the company will not have enough XRP for these internal bank transfers and they are going to have to buy them back from the public??

So it seems that XRP has no value outside its use by the company Ripple. Is anyone actually using it for commerce or any other reason? It is not considered a store of value like bitcoin (in any case one would want something decentralized.

Your third point is probably the reason. People hear "banks use it" and they heavily invest in it, because banks are trusted these days. On the other hand: transaction times are pretty fast and fees are usually pretty low, so it is perfectly usable.

Re: Effects of a new year on market?

What do you guys think the new year will bring us? Massive price drops or maybe prices going up? Or maybe nothing at all? Please share your expectations with me
We have got some serious drops in december, so I guess prices will go up again. Some people spending gifts or their new year's bonus on cryptos... Family gatherings will have spread the word of crypto too, I think. When one family member trades crypto, the holidays are the perfect time to share some knowledge with their family.

Re: Will ICO die in 2018?
by
Coin.Master636
on 28/12/2017, 16:12:50 UTC
Disclaimer: The text below is a personal opinion of the author. If you have a different opinion, please share it

ICO causes more and more distrust - thanks to the scammers. At this point, companies that produce and sell tokens are more focused on the product. The product is being developed and improved. And all before the token sale.

The fact is: those companies that enter the token market with a readymade product are more trustworthy. Now, few people are interested in a company that launches ICO just to make a name and earn a lot of money.

ICO is a serious campaign. It requires great resources and professionalism.

There are many companies on this path. Recently, Pavel Durov announced the creation of a light wallet and the release of the Gram token on the Telegram platform. Here is another example - KickCity, a company that has existed for two years. KickCity is engaged in the development of the event industry and issues a KCY token for further expansion of the company.
ICOs won't die, but I share your criticism. There will always be ICOs, as this is a great way to kickstart a project. I think of it as the Kickstarter of cryptocurrencies.
On the other hand: because of the many scammy or failed ICOs, people will lose trust in the concept and ICOs will do worse.

You say "we have a unique approach to our wallet," but you just link to the website. I think it would be nicer of you to just tell us already Wink Now you just look like you're trying to generate website traffic.

We are adding the ability to send money with audio, ultrasonic modem, we can do all sorts of amazing things with this.

Join our team for more info. https://discord.gg/Rk7mF4w

With audio? Sounds very interesting... Isn't it prone to interception when the wallet is very popular and used in public? Or what's the use case for this wallet?

Re: How to convert bitcoin cash to USD?
by
Coin.Master636
on 20/12/2017, 14:45:46 UTC
Are there any exchanges that allow it? I heard Bitfinex does, but also heard that they only allow conversion to USDT (and people were having trouble converting USDT into USD, unless this has been solved?)
Watch out for Bitfinex... They have pretty high limits on some cryptos for withdrawal. They are not doing that good lately. Also read some articles about inside problems.
