Re: BITCLUB NETWORK: Prison is not the place to be right now
by
CoinClarity

Jobadiah “Joby” Weeks has plead guilty to two counts of BitClub Network related fraud.
As per the terms of a plea agreement reached with the DOJ, Joby Weeks has pled guilty to conspiring to offer and sell unregistered securities and tax evasion.
I don’t recall specific figures pertaining to Weeks’ tax evasion being included in his original BitClub Network indictment.

As per the plea agreement;

Quote
Weeks agrees that he willfully evaded tax reporting requirements for the taxable periods 2015 to 2018.
The parties agree that the combined tax loss … is greater than $3,500,000 but less than $9,500,000.

One can imagine Weeks’ anti-government beliefs and use of cryptocurrency played a significant role in him dodging taxes.
The two counts of fraud Weeks has pled guilty two carry consecutive statutory prison sentences of up to five years each. A statutory monetary penalty will also be applied.

The plea agreement also requires Weeks to pay restitution to BitClub Network victims.

Pending Weeks’ satisfying the terms of the plea agreement, the DOJ will not pursue any further BitClub Network or tax fraud actions. This includes dropping the wire fraud count in Weeks’ indictment.
Week’s plea agreement was accepted by the court on November 5th.
On November 6th bond was set at $2 million dollars. To secure his release, four properties in the US belonging to Weeks and family members have been offered as surety.

Pending Weeks providing pre-trial services with a travel itinerary and a custodian arranging to travel with him from New Jersey to Colorado (presumably a family member), Weeks will be released to home incarceration with location monitoring.
Sentencing has been scheduled for March 17th, 2021.
Weeks’ guilty plea brings the number of BitClub scammers who have pled guilty to three. Programmer Silviu Catalin pled guilty in July. Promoter Joe Abel pled guilty in September.

The DOJ’s case against ringleaders Matthew Brent Goettsche and Russ Medlin continues.

Thanks for your update on this. I heard about the court case outcome elsewhere and logged back in specifically to see if you had written about it -- very informative summary. Please keep up the great work in exposing scammers!

Really?

CoinClarity is another account from nutildah and behind is the same person.

LOL.

Dumbass.

Even if that were true (and its not), how would that change the fact that Bryce just copy/pasted a project while claiming it to be his own work? Seems like nutildah really rustled your jimmies here.

I suppose every critic of Bryce is also an account of nutildah.

who is this guy calling NotSoFast a Stupid https://twitter.com/CyrusEfx/status/1248823650016346112
and Bryce Weiner a scammer https://twitter.com/CyrusEfx/status/1247840673245450240
And then posting a link to nutildah scam accusation thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5239328

Looks like nutildah got lazy and just made the mistake to uncover his identity.

Busted!!

That's me.

Just want to demonstrate that at one point I was willing to give TAO a chance:

A History of Weinercoins:

https://coinclarity.com/spotting-a-scamcoin-number-1/

This thread was highly educational. It will be very interesting to see how Tao plays out.

I really was hoping he would turn things around here, but he didn't, just a slower burn while engaging in the same 'ol tactics. As was evidenced by his fallout with Hakeem Draper and the ODB estate, he apparently lacks the capability to act honestly and in the interest of anyone other than himself.

That being said, many (most) honest projects are suffering right now, but let's not confuse TAO with them. We can just hope he doesn't try to start fresh with a new scam.

I've been following this thread and covering the scams of Bryce Weiner for quite some time. I was honestly rooting for Bryce to pull a 180 and not go back to his old habits, but recent events have proven that's impossible.

As always, buyer beware.

I think this is in response to this guy getting called out for making a death threat to Peter McCormack, who posted his message in a tweet:

The thread he wants deleted is linked in a twitter comment under there. Law Enforcement is probably reading it right now.

Four big reasons to be bullish on bitcoin:

1. The case for bitcoin as a form of payment shines.
2. Bitcoin remains a deflationary asset.
3. Bitcoin is currently on sale.
4. Reward halving is only 50 days away.

This is basic knowledge to you guys but I thought you might enjoy this article I wrote on the subject. Just trying to spread the good word in times of strife and bring cheer in the face of the coronapocalypse.

Can't believe bitcoin is tied neck and neck with coronavirus in the poll.

Had to fix that by voting for the correct answer, which is bitcoin.

Coronavirus can be contained and controlled; bitcoin cannot.

So he has lobbied and met with lawmakers with direct power over the cryptocurrency industry. If he is the scammer that you and others claim, why would he do this? Why would the SEC take no issue with him and seemingly approve of his conduct?

That's an easy one. To create a smokescreen around the fact that he is a well-known scammer among the crypto community. Lawmakers and politicians have no time to perform any kind of background check on him, nor do they care. They just see this unshaven hobbit bearing a big smile approaching them and probably feel bad for him, thinking, well this guy's a voter and he has a good attitude, so we should try to make him feel special.

I feel its all kind of a moot point by now, anyway. Any slim remaining chance Altmarket or TAO may have had at one point is now gone with the wind. We are in a new bear market and nobody has time for this extremely fringe, small-time stuff anymore. However, the best thing that can be done is preventing him from starting anew, trying to collect more money for yet another scammy venture that will inevitably end in failure, just like all of his others.

SCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How to find this crazy australian - Francesco Alibrandi?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh
He given only 10 days to withdraw, I've discovered down-site yesterday, my 10k USD are lost with this stupid scam-change!!!!!

Please, help anybody!!!

You can find a street address for Alibrandi here:

https://www.nzlbusiness.com/company/registered/Cryptopia-Limited

He was a shareholder in Cryptopia. The only thing is it might not be his most current address as the filing is a few years old. I'm pretty certain he still lives in Sydney, Australia, though.

Roll Eyes Jeez. I will ask yet again, the question I ask the trolls in this thread which I don't think has *ever* been answered: if Bryce is a scammer, why has he met with and had positive, cooperative meetings with regulators including the SEC as documented multiple times on his twitter feed and in this thread?

Who cares? He managed to fool a few bureaucrats for a few minutes. He is very small time and wasn't on their radar. I guarantee you they don't remember meeting with him by this point. It was a PR move designed for scam defenders such as yourself to continue milking it years later.

You think its not possible to simultaneously be a scammer and have briefly met with some bureaucrats? If so, you're even less intelligent than I previously suspected.

Bryce Weiner is a well-documented crypto scammer. Tao is his latest scam. Of course, you will be the last to admit this, even when you actually have to pay people to take your Tao bags off your hands.

Nobody serious about business will ever use Tao, because as is similar with the ongoing Craig Wright / BSV saga, nobody wants to use a coin developed by a con artist.

I've been following the situation for a while and wrote up an article on it, also have a post about it in the Exchanges section which will hopefully help increase awareness. Sounds like they are selectively letting a few people withdraw BTC, but others with bigger balances are still locked out.  Undecided

Pretty weird that this got moved to the Exchanges board. But whatever. It does indeed pertain to exchanges so I can't complain.

I'd like to know more about the connection between Trade Satoshi in Cryptopia. The founder and designer of Cryptopia got caught attempting to arbitrage Safex tokens between Cryptopia and Trade Satoshi by moving them directly from hot wallet to hot wallet. From an article on Altcoinbuzz:

Quote
We reached out to one of the delisted projects, SafeX. Richard Bate, SafeX advisor, commented:

“Over 18 months ago, Safex was delisted from Cryptopia, apparently due to an “aggressive community member”. The former CTO of Cryptopia, Adam Clark, decided on the spot in Discord to delist Safex because someone (apparently aggressive) asked when the wallets would come out of maintenance.

This seemed like a very unproportional response to a lone member who didn’t represent the entire community. So we did some digging.

Reviewing the known wallets of Safex on Cryptopia, we noticed big trades directly between the hot-wallets of Cryptopia and TradeSatoshi. (The unusual part here is that you don’t deposit to the main wallets on either exchange, you deposit to a personal address so they know how much you’ve deposited.

Our running theory was that someone internally on both sides was attempting to do arbitration trades and managed to lose a lot of Safex in the process.

This was further confirmed later when they didn’t have the Safex to cover the withdrawals of those who had funds left on their Cryptopia account. We saw regular withdrawals from TS [TradeSatoshi] straight to the Cryptopia hot-wallet which co-inside with the timing of when certain members suddenly got their funds back.

The delisting of Safex due to this one community member was a convenient exit strategy so they could save face.

Make it a problem with us, rather than them.

A few months later, we learn that the CTO, Adam Clark, had been “let go” of Cryptopia. My guess is that something was discovered that was bad enough to force one of the founding directors of the company out.

A few months later after that, we find that Adam started working for Trade Satoshi as a Senior Developer.”

Adam Clark had a hand in designing the Trade Satoshi website:

Quote
“Cryptopia, Tradesatoshi and Assetylene obviously all look alike because I made/designed each platform, so I guess I have a style maybe,” he said.

https://www.theblockcrypto.com/linked/24750/cryptopia-founder-plans-to-set-up-new-exchange

Is there a possibility he is behind the downfall of both exchanges, or is simply a case of one unreputable individual helping another?

[2-23-20] Trade Satoshi Exchange Closure Looks Like Exit Scam

The Trade Satoshi exchange announced on Thursday it is closing down on March 1st, giving its users just 10 days from the date of announcement to withdraw their coins. The exchange had been riddled with problems for quite some time, including frequent withdraw delays, account closures, absurdly high withdrawal fees, and the locking of customer accounts for seemingly arbitrary reasons.

One of the things making it hard for the exchange's remaining customers to withdraw their coins is the fact that they frequently have been in "maintenance mode" during the last few days, and even when customers can log into their accounts, they see the withdraw option for Bitcoin (and other coins) disabled.

Some customers logged into their account only to see new KYC documentation requests, preventing them from attempting to withdraw coins or even cancel trades. Others are reporting that their 2-FA codes are no longer working on Google Authenticator.

Whatever the actual reason for the closure seems to be, it would appear that Trade Satoshi seriously does not want customers to withdraw their coins, despite there being only 8 days remaining before the scheduled closure.

For a background on the exchange, its operator, and a look into its bizarre connections with Cryptopia, you can read more here:

https://coinclarity.com/trade-satoshi-closing-exit-scam-likely/

Here is the Twitter announcement, followed by scores of complaints from frustrated users underneath:

It is not his job to pump coins for your profits or pay listing fees to get on bigger volume exchanges.

This is the actual reason why your coin never made it to any real exchanges:

I think alpha nodes are deliberately not turned on yet? I think I read that somewhere, maybe on the slack.

Yes they have never been enabled. The info is on here and has been said on the slack.

So much for "you are all part of the network".

I know a shitcoin when I see one, and this is one. Do yourself a favor Bryce Weiner, do not get music-companies involved with TAO, they will sue you for every penny you got after they realize you only delivering shit slow shitcoins which don't even trade on real exchanges.

I did take a round to speak with exchange-operators to see if there was anything I could do to get listing, but apparently Bryce Weiner, you have threatened people so badly in the past, that frankly unless you sincerely apologize to them in person, they will never do business with you again ever. And since you are too proud to admit any mistakes, I assume this project will just be another "PandaCoin".

My suggestion - Set up an ICO BuyBack wall and buy it all back, call it a non-profit that failed, Kill the Chain and let us all move on with projects that are more serious and capable then this project will ever be.

Hey guys, I've seen such tweets posted here before, so I'm wondering would you be kind enough to point me to the twitter person or website that displays fiat currencies in terms of bitcoin? Its like an opposite Coinmarketcap or something. I need it (or a similar such comparison) for a news article I'm writing, and it hasn't been extraordinarily easy to find. Thanks in advance.

That bus on the left seems to go to a much more popular destination:

Quantum Hedge Fund has now roped in Godfrey as their Fund Advisor (alongside other usual suspects). It's either an extreme lack of due diligence on the team's part or just your usual cash grab. Betting the farm on the latter.

Exit scam in 3.. 2...

I checked the Quantum Hedge bounty thread. Its up to 114 pages of bounty signups and reports, and contains exactly 1 post by the bounty manager. There's no way they are keeping track of this stuff. I suspect in the end they will end up shafting most bounty participants out of what they are owed. Not that it matters because the token will be useless anyway.

Godfrey is great at doing 1 thing: collecting money. He's an absolute disaster when it comes to everything else. His involvement in a project almost assuredly spells doom for its investors.

Here's what he had to say about Keplertek, which was 100% a scam:

Basically, his judgment is observably terrible.

This one denotes quite a lot in this declaration:
I am still not understand with blockchain and what does mean by blockchain and what for using blockchain, I only understand with bitcoin and altcoin because its the way how to get much profit with investing and trading, I don't take care with blockchain feature and function in real life.
Who gives a crap about blockchain? It’s totally irrelevant in the eyes of a "profit maker".
