Yeah, the team has received quite a lot in donations and I have yet to find any clear info on them. I love the concept here and have donated but I don't see the point in keeping the dev identities secret. I mean, if you plan on this becoming successful, you'll need to reveal your identities at some point. Pretty much every other legit coin dev has done so, even if they didn't want to at first. (Ok, not Satoshi)

So, who's the team? What have you worked on in the past? Any Linked In or Twitter links?

If this is a serious project you will need some trust from the community. Might as well start now.

Linking your ICO funds collections to a completely separate project/coin (a really bad one too) is a big scammy red flag in my book. Too bad because I really liked your plans for Aida and was planning on investing quite a lot.

I was about to invest with ETH but when I clicked on "Invest in ETH" it brought me to a Googledocs page with these instructions:

(ETH) Step by step instruction how to buy AID tokens for ETH

  Open https://ico.eristica.com

Then that link asks me to buy ERT tokens. What's going on?

It's been a year and still no exchanges?! That's pretty sad in and of itself but rebranding to a name that mean "simply" then showing a video of coding for 3 minutes doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Simple would be clicking buttons, not coding. Then asking for more money after doing almost nothing for a year? Really? Good luck. The crypto world moves fast. Much faster than this usually.

Other Bitcoin debit cards are stopping service outside of Europe from mid-October.

Is CryptoPay affected by the same new regulations? If not, how did they get around them?

Is that why the limits are lower than other crypto debit cards?

Hello

I didn't read this forum for couple of years.

I missed the IOTA ICO and I really like the idea of this new technology. I'm actually in love with it!

Who could sell me some IOTAs at a fair price?
I will obviously send first but will only do it with people I can see that have done a few other sucessful transactions with other users.

I think I'd go for around 0.5 btc. I want to see the list of people who was in the IFO and how much they put into it.

Thanks and sorry if I sound a bit newbiesh. Any help will be appreciated.

Don't be silly. Follow these steps and you'll find a proper Iota exchange. http://www.iotaexchange.com/#details

Get them quick before they hit bigger exchanges.

Some of the blockchain-based cards are divisible. How does that work in terms of gameplay? If I own half a SatoshiCard I can't use it in the game right?

That's not true. You cant buy half a card

You can buy even 1 satoshi of some (old) card  Shocked So you should be very careful while selling it on the CounterParty exchange as a bad buyer can spoil it  Angry

Recently I had my buy order partially fulfilled (it was Ripple card), so I did not get the whole card - well, it does not appear on the team tab or somewhere else in the game.

Yeah, That's what I mean. If you look on sogassets.com under Divisibility you can see there are 11 cards in the list that are divisible. I don't really like that aspect. I mean sure, the value can still increase so buyers can potentially still profit from the partial purchase if they can find a willing buyer who doesn't care about using the card in the game... but it seems to me you lose a lot of value with the loss of game functionality.

Anyway, I have a few divisible cards that I would be willing to sell but I don't want to offer them if buyers can cut them up in parts. It just seems like a waste. Is there a way for me to offer "full sale or nothing"?

If not, it would be a welcome feature.

Here's another in-depth write-up on the coming changes in the automotive industry. The article was tweeted by New Mobility Labs, which is hosting an Iota meet-up in Chicago next week. I found this part interesting:

Cars will become intelligent and create a virtual hive mind to improve transportation

Unlike the interoperability conundrum facing the IoT industry, autonomous cars will be able to talk to one another (Vehicle-to-Vehicle aka V2V) to share road and environmental data. For example, cars will be able to report obstacles or hazards to following vehicles to optimize routes and prevent accidents. Additionally, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) capabilities with allow for the exchange of information between vehicles and infrastructure and application services.

Vehicles become data centers

Every aspect of the vehicle and its environment is generating unprecedented levels of data. Its estimated that one car will use 4,000GB of data per day. Machine learning, AI, deep learning, and data science overall, is need to translate everything into value. This will lead to improved or new services, increased safety, new conveniences, better parking, greater fuel efficiency, faster delivery times, cheaper insurance, integrated payment systems, personalized experiences, and disruptive innovation.

Can anyone show the steps to store the ágora tokens on a bitcoincore wallet?

better use omnicore wallet (from omnilayer.org). anyway you can receive tokens into an address generated by bitcoincore and then import that address into omni wallet

Ohad, are you the only developer working on this coin?

yes, but that's true only very temporarily.

It seems like it is very large in scope. Perhaps, larger than maidsafe? And they have worked on it for years. Curious on your thoughts.

the whole point of tau's initial development is to supply very few features that doesn't even matter. what matters is that we can collaboratively program the system *after* it's alive. from there we will build the state of the art altogether. to reach this critical mass doesn't take much, it needs to be a tiny yet perfect engine

Ohad, are you seriously the only one working on this project right now? What happened to the collaborators? When do you expect other core members to join the project? How many people do you expect? What jobs do you expect them do do?

No need for so much animosity. A simple short reply like "Actually, we really need 100%." would be much more productive.

I'd just like to mention that I'm really glad to see the change in tone in iotatoken's communication recently. It's much more straightforward and pleasant and instills greater confidence in the leadership and for the future of this project.

I've donated 8% of my holdings to the foundation and will help out with more donations in the future as things progress.

Hoping for a smooth launch. Should be exciting weeks ahead!

Things are getting exciting! Launch is just around the corner.

Want to sell up to 500 GIOTA for 0.025 BTC/GIOTA.

That means 1 BTC gets you 40 GIOTA

I was thinking of selling in 5 blocks of 100 GIOTA for 2.5 BTC each but am flexible.

Must use escrow (it would be silly not to), preferably Seccour.

PM me if interested.

I share most of the concerns and frustrations that have been voiced here over the last couple of days. All these foundation worries could have been easily avoided if the money ("software" Huh) had just been set aside for it from the start. I think that was a mistake and don't really buy the "we wanted to leave it up to the community and prevent bystander effect" argument because that was not clearly communicated at the start. Actually, I couldn't find any mention of it anywhere prior to the crowdsale (or whatever it's called for this project).

I'd still be happy to have 5% taken from me at launch (or more as long as it's the same for everyone) but I realize it's likely too late for that now. I fully intend to donate generously but will only do so once the process is simplified and I feel safer using the software.

I still think the community will pull through and make the foundation happen, even if it takes more time than expected. To make it happen faster I think the community would appreciate knowing the details of what the funds will be used for. Who will be the members of the foundations? What are the foundation's goals? How will they be achieved? How much money will each objective cost? Of course, much of this is uncertain right now but clear and open info in this regard will help a lot in conveying the importance of the foundation to the community.

Once a clear vision and direction for the foundation has been agreed upon, please post this info in the opening page and maybe send it out to the email list.

Actually, posting more general info to the OP would probably save a lot of time and headaches answering the same questions over and over again.

give people the right to be greedy and they'll make use of their ability to be generous,
force them to be generous and they'll take every chance to be greedy.

thanks for sticking to your contract.

I think those are wise words. I believe people will donate adequately once an address to send to is made available. The foundation will be funded.

Some people might get motivated by the fear of failure "do or die" type of thinking but, personally, I'd be willing to donate more if I knew exactly how the funds were going to be used and I could see the funding goals gradually being met. Even a task-based funding campaign might be a decent idea where people can send to different addresses depending on which task/objective they consider the most important. Just an idea.

Ether way, I think transparency would be valued by the community so people know what they're donating towards. I don't think you'll have any trouble convincing people to donate as long as you can make it clear (in writing and visually) what the funds are necessary for and how the funding is progressing towards shared goals.

No offense to Seccour but would anyone mind vouching/telling me why I should trust him to escrow a sale? I have a buyer who wishes to use his escrow but all I see that doing is removing trust requirement from me and moving it over to someone else I've never heard of before this thread:) Not trying to ruffle feathers, just doing my own due diligence.

His name sounds pretty secure to me.

Aussi, s'il y à un problème il vient à ton secours.

So no worries.

Real business contacts are not established via sites like LinkedIn. A decade ago I made a reputation of high-load backend developer and people are still approaching me via 2-3 chain links. Literally today I've got yet another offer to join a MMOG project as a CTO despite of the fact that I haven't been working on publicly known MMOG projects for several years. LinkedIn founder monetized a dick-measuring-contest idea, good for him. If one day I decide to create a profile and get thousands contacts I'll use my photo in bikini with photoshopped boobs as the avatar.  Cheesy

Why wait?

You need a BCT avatar now! Wink
