Re: Supporting Families in Venezuela with Bitcoin
by

I was wondering if there is a way to support families in Venezuela through Bitcoin.
Perhaps you've heard about this person who asked for help in the Nano subreddit and eventually received enough Nano to buy 300KGS of food for his small community in Venezuela.

This is the story, which I've also posted in Altcoin Discussion:
Sorry if there is already a topic about this, but there has recently been a new update on this story, so I'm making a new one.

Reddit user 'Windows7733' recently made a topic on Reddit, saying that someone donated 0.5 Nano to him, which was almost an entire month's salary.
He used it to buy food for himself and his relatives.

Now after this story broke out, he has since then been able to buy a whopping 300KG of food for the people around him.
He's receiving more Nano every day, so soon he'll be able to buy even more food.

Check out the topics here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/nanocurrency/comments/8v6dcy/got_my_first_05_nano_venezuelan_user/?st=jj97a6ns&sh=4d530240 (first topic)
https://www.reddit.com/r/nanocurrency/comments/8yfmrp/update_venezuelans_are_ready_to_work_with_you/ (update topic)

Very interesting story to say the least.

Now my real question: Is there a way to come into contact with individual people of families in Venezuela and support them through micro crypto donations?
It would be pretty amazing if there was a platform that made something like this possible.

I know this sort of thing could be abused, but it could be possible with a decent verification process and personal contact between donor and person in need.

When you read that story on the Nano subreddit, the guy from Venezuela mentions that 0.5 Nano (around 1.4 USD at time of writing) is almost an entire month's salary!
If I could possibly help people that much, with just donating a few dollars worth of crypto, count me in!

Wasn't sure whether to post this in Serious Discussion or here, can always move the topic when needed.

It's great to see when someone from the community will step up and offer help with few bucks, wherein Venezuela it's a month's salary and can improve someone's live by a mile. I don't understand 80% of the comments here, where people are debating about mining, electricity etc. People have no funds to buy the food Smiley  I would donate in  EUR or BTC / ETH / BCH / ... if I knew that funds will reach the most needed ones.

Fair play to you eternalgloom. You have a kind heart.

I am completely lost and don't understand what the hell is going on with community. MN coins with such distribution is pure nonsense. it might few people make some bucks, but at the end of the day the whole strategy is to get in asap and get out even faster...

Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments

Can anyone tell me why price of Byteball should rise up?

I read much about it and I belive that Byteball is udervalued and it will rise soon.

I am asking because it is always better to know more opinions Smiley

Not long time ago people were buying GBYTE because of the airdrops (and were immediately dumping it on Bittrex ) and neglecting the technology completely. Now when airdrops have been put on pause (till march 2018...) people can & will reconsider the coin and its potential. The main goal was to promote Byteball as much as possible among the Bitcoin community (the largest to date) and it was done in a timely manner and smartly. Now its time to explore it and use it properly.

Taking into account only the heavy development work which is ongoing non-stop since launch of the project,  creates trust to this project (check github). Coinmarketcap displays majority ICOs coins with no product whatsoever just WP site (in best case scenario), so ask yourself, when the dust settles with ICOs where the money will go? (90% of them will fail at the end). I personally believe in projects that have a solid foundation, reputation and product of course and Byteball has its all.

P.S. I mentioned only the development, not the actual possibilities of the Byteball  Wink

Re: [ANN] Spectrecoin & XSPEC - Privacy for the Future....Here Today!

I wouldn't worry about the max supply at this time. 5% is not as much as it sounds like and it will take years before there is a significant increase / inflation and by that time the user base will be larger, fiat currency inflation will increase etc. If at some point it seems inflation is an issue or threat to the network there is always the possibility of adjusting the PoS to a reducing scheme. This would require a sufficient number of transactions to provide enough fees to satisfy node owners. At this time I would not worry about the max supply. We need to get all the core features running perfectly and then expand on that. Privacy is the key and the supply is in reality quite low. There are only a few hundred thousand in circulation being traded.

5% is not much at all. Take for example Bitcoin, 21 mil is a fixed number, but only god knows how many of them were lost at the very beginning. If  you do not backing up you wallet, seed, private keys... Funds are lost for good. So the actual current supply is way less than on coinmarketcap.

5% of additional coins help to overcome this problem. Because people do lose and forget passwords (and it doesn't matter how many times you repeat this, it is inevitable), laptop crashes and so on, so constant supply will maintain the right balance.  Wink

How is everyone feeling about this coin so far? Looks pretty cool at first glance

This coin has a very big potential. Syncing the chain takes about an hour or so. The payments are just simply fast. Try to send it from one wallet to another. And most importantly  the Stealth payments, which are completely anonymous.

People have to realize that once governments try control and regulate crypto, anonymous coins  will be in big demand. They already are, but in upcoming years it will be more relevant. And to send payments that no one can trace is a winner.

But the coin with better tech and user experience will be the leader and Spectre has everything to be the one.  Mark my words

Minereum is an interesting one. Cool idea of fair distribution for the next 47 years, with predicted amount of coins. But they need to get marketing to do properly, you can't expect huge adoption when 'dev' is updating once in a lifetime, as a result its $4, so there is  huge drop.

GByte is not good investment
because comunity Gbyte user is low, and Gbyte price is very high, and not big exchanger same poloniex

Such mind thinking what makes this coin so undervalued. Because users don't bother to open the whitepaper and read, at least the abstract  Roll Eyes As per my previous comment there is 1 million of GBYTEs  or 1,000,000. So for 1 GBYTE you are paying $820, which is 1 of a millionth. Each GBYTE equals 1000 MBYTES, in other words, if Coinmarketcap placed MBYTE instead of GBYTE, then total supply would be 1 Billion and price of a coin would be $0.82.

Moreover, every BTC owner is entitled for a free GBYTE, every single giveaway BTC address submitted is increasing.

Denomination used this is where people are get confused. Actually, let it it be that way, less educated people are involved healthier the project will be.

Don't be fooled with harvesting! What people are saying about 10,000 NEM is true but its only 1 side of a coin, this harvesting thing will bring you nothing because the 10K is a minimum. The harvesting will work when NEM transactions are taking place, but at the moment not much happening. I hold 10K I know what I am talking about. Yes, its great time to get some but don't get all in.

Best of luck

I am afraid few people realize what GBYTE is truly is and what potential it has. At first glance it might look it costs a lot $820 (at the moment of writing) per coin, but you get  1 coin out of 1,000,000 and the coin doesn't have scalability issues whatsoever + smart contracts, bots,  market place, token creation, anonymous transactions. Just get in after the full moon, when the price will be dropped a little. But the coin will rise and it will be in top 5 no doubts.  Grin

At the moment everyone is focused on ICOs that will shake the market big time.

Alot of weak hands right now
That is not weak hands, they simply want to go with the btc train. It is normal in altcoins. Don't worry, it will come back up even more.
Specially when the word on MNE comes out.

exactly! this is what is happening. The marketcap  reached 100 billion, and in 24h BTC dominance vs other alt coins increased by 1.5%, which means all money is going into BTC pot, which is also good. Every single time the ceiling of BTC marketcap increased, it automatically increases the ceiling for other coins

So, be patient Smiley

Well this is happening due to lack of vision  Grin I had to register an account in here, to say how cool the idea is with fair distribution. If DEV, will keep its word, and everything will be released as promised, it can be a real goldmine. This aka "Satoshi Nakomoto" style, is kinda cool as well. Let's see how it will perform, the coin is very new, so it will take some time when ppl start realize the actual value of it. in the mean time I would do more shopping Smiley
