Re: Do you think you were scammed by GAW? Tell Ars Technica

Sir, I have had dealings with Gaw and Mr. Garza since the days when they offered asic scrypt miners.  I've purchased a hosted black widow, a hosted fury, a non hosted fury, and many hashlets from Gawminers.  I've ROI'd on each and made money on top of each.  With the latest Paycoin buy back, I will stand to ROI on my purchased Hash Stakers as well as profit from my converted prime hashlets.  I do not think I was scammed.

Linked is the source, some config examples, and binaries for Windows and Raspberry Pi.

https://gawminers.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202184744-cgminer-source-and-config

Out of curiosity, the latest committed change I can see by looking through the zip (since we can't get this on github) is on 5/22.  I'm studying through the icarus and cgminer files right now just to peek at what might have changed in those, otherwise I'm curious if this is six days old why it is only being provided now?
I'm sure it had to undergo done QC and testing. If they released a non working version people like you would be pissed!

Seriously, what happened to give me my software and I'll go way?  This is a true troller.

Okay great glad you got that all figured out.

Any chance we can get a look at the falcon and the big surprise. Sorry guys I don't work for GAW so I still haven't seen it. LOL

Yeah, can't wait to hear about prime and the next big thing either.  Top on my wishlist is that there might be some sort of hash trading allowed for the different algorithms out there. As it is, I still have to figure out (other than Coin(O)) what other coins out there I should be scrypt mining.

I think ultimately whatever gets Coin(O) more exposure and meets our endgame goals would be the better path.  Sometimes we want to take short cuts and miss out on the fundamentals.  I am all for the x11 algo, but I think halving will only encourage cycles of pump and dump.

Reactor, I'm not sure what point you are trying to get across. Josh is right, you are "annoying as hell".

@everyone else, just add him to your ignore list.

To be fair, it was the other user that said that Reactor was "annoying as hell", Josh was professional in his communications.

For those who purchased the GAW scrypt miners initially at the higher price with a Credit Card, have you received a credit back on Credit Card yet?  The credit that we would get back for price difference that GAW promised the initial buyers.

I have not seen a credit back on my Credit Card yet is why I was ask.

I got my refund in the form of a store credit. (Some of the msgs above also shows that store credit was given for folks who used a credit card).  You should've gotten an email in regards to this if you were credited (perhaps check spam?).

Well I got a reply from them, they said they'd escalate it lol.  Anyhow, my 400 coinos did make it to Poloniex, but it took more than 12 hours.

Yep, I went ahead and opened up a support ticket with them.  I'll post here if I get anything worthwhile from Poloniex.

I'm having issues depositing in poloniex as well. After 170 confirms as per my wallet I still don't see the balance show up on poloniex. Anyone else having the same issues? With other coins I'll see it pending and the number of confirms left.

Hi Gangyi,

I just sent 400 coinos to poloniex, it's taking some time to be processed. However I sent some coinos to a secondary coino account and it worked just fine (~7 minutes).  I think this has to do more with Poloniex than with the coin itself.

Hi All,

I too got my refund.

Also I am very pleased with Gawminer's service and products as they are professional and committed to their customers.  Their hosting service, while started with a few hiccups has definitely gotten better over time and is now a fairly stable service.  I have yet to be aware of another company that gives me the same sense of satisfaction with their product.

As time permits, the community continues working towards getting Coin(O) off the ground with better features.

Rest assured that the community devs are keeping an eye on things and ensuring that the wallet is up to date.  If you look on poloniex, you can see that Coin(O) is relatively stable.

I've been going back and reading the previous responses, but I haven't pinpointed a probable reason yet for the doom and gloom.  Anyone help me out?

Most of the alt coins seem to be falling in value because bitcoin is falling in value. A lot of people seem to be panic selling, but it seems to be quite a good time to me. I'm sure coino will rise in price when bitcoin rises. It's got fast block confirmation times which makes it harder to attack through transaction malleability. Just for that reason alone I think coino will still be here when bitcoin has reached it's floor and started to rise in price again.

Ah that makes a lot of sense, thanks unent.  Back to mining coinos, I will probably buy some on the exchange as well.
