The same can as well be said for cryptocurrency. It Is actually a subset of cryptocurrency and it faces the usual volatility and uncertainty as regards exchange listing, token allocation changes, liquidity, token pump and dumps and even exit scams

It's becoming less attractive especially with the new lottery rule wilhich stipulates that $30 worth of coins will be available after draw for holding over $1500 worth of Binance coin. Coupled with the proposed huge initial circulation supply of WINK which doesn't go down so well with many investors

I have heard that there are some exchange platforms that deceive traders and even owners of new coins, Tell us your story with a bad exchange  platforms that you do not recommend.

Help others to avoid this exchanges that cheat traders

Actually, those exchanges are numerous on coinmarketcap. There's been a case where the project CMA wrote a post about IDAX and its fraudulent ways of conducting IEOs for project owners. This and more are some of the shameful stories you will hear  of these exchanges

Well you must be well aware that you are not a lone in this field. There's is Uhive and Contentos which provides a tokenised content sharing ecosystem. So you have stiff competition awaiting. You can improve on these platforms to stand a better chance

The more new coins that are present in the crypto market, will certainly enliven the crypto world. My question is how do you look at the future of the altcoin, with fairly tight competition. Will it affect the price of old altcoins, such as Ethereum, XRP and others.

The Proliferation of altcoins could be a reason why major altcoins are falling from their pedestal which is came as a result of high competition. But I think this competition is healthy and on a long run will breed only the best altcoins worthy of adoption alongside the Bitcoin

Re: Manipulation of cryptocurrency exchanges.
by

After looking at a lot of crypto exchanges, have you ever thought about price manipulation in exchange? Have you ever experienced or seen it. Share your experiences and I want to hear a whisper from you. Thank you.

I read a news yesterday on cointelegraph.com about a young sophomore who charges as much as $15k to boost cryptocurrency exchanges trade volume on coinmarketcap. This is a revelation that came after several suspicions of many cryptocurrency exchanges faking their trade volume to rank high on Cmc and attract listings and high listing fees.

This is huge and disheartening, in the last few months, cryptocurrency enthusiasts recounted losses from quadrigaX and cryptopia. Sometime I think the cryptocurrency community is not doing enough to curtail these hacks and protect the itself from it which is totally wrong

Re: Libra vs. Bitcoin - What's the Dif?
by
CoinsOrDie
on 19/07/2019, 13:51:18 UTC
Sorry to disrupt your little echo chamber here, but ...

I thought it might be valuable to point out some of the key differences between FaceBook’s new Libra coin and Bitcoin. They are certainly not the same. The greatest features of bitcoin center around it’s decentralized network.

Libra is:

  • A currency that ties not only your basic identity to your money, but includes all the details found on your FB, instagram, What’sApp, and other social media. A near perfect coin for stealing your identity.
False.  Only if you use the wallet that will be built into Facebook.  If you use another wallet then they won't have any info on you.

Owned by a banking cabal including PayPal, MasterCard, FaceBook, Andreessen Horowitz, etc. Users may use their coins if they follow all rules required by the owner companies. Users must also accept that these rules may change at any time for any reason the owner companies decide.
Partly.  Backed by a bunch of big companies.  The money they are putting up the money is equivalent to tethers imaginary backing funds.  they will be in charge of swapping from fiat to libra and back.

A currency who’s distribution, supply, and all other parameters are under the complete control of the owners. They can change the valuation or double the circulation.  (Owners, not Users – FaceBook and it’s partners are the owners of the money)
False.  It is pegged to a basket of stuff (whatever that really means) so will stay at a fairly fixed value.

A currency that can be used at FaceBook’s partner stores. It allows FB partners to pry into your spending habits in an unprecedented way. You may only use their money if they receive a cut of the money and all transactions are allowed only if FB decides it is okay for you to do.
What does that even mean?  Wrong on so many levels I won't even bother with it.

A patch over an archaic banking system that is insecure, ridiculously slow, and very expensive.
    True.

If you are going to argue then at least get your facts straight.

I think you did more justice to that topic in less words than anyone else could ever do. The initial post is Flaws and looks quite horrific. Those points alone would serve as a veritable tool to demarket cryptocurrency and blockchain. Thank you for setting the facts right

Re: Where do you see the future of exchange going?
by

I think centralization is calling. Right from the battles cryptocurrency exchange face in operations in United States, its either they conform to their demands to operate in the US market or exit. Recently, Binance International and Bittrex has ceased operations in US in order to create an exchange that will suite the requirements. This is just the beginning I think

Re: Privacy, it matters!

Privacy to me is one of the core essence of cryptocurrency as its built on blockchain. Decentralization, peer to peer, security and obscurity(privacy). Bitcoin was developed to remove control powers from the prying eyes of the centralized bodies. But if this purpose is defeated, then it defects bitcoin purpose

Re: LIBRA - Strategy for world domination
by
CoinsOrDie
on 18/07/2019, 20:23:47 UTC
Is Libra the first step for Facebook to take control of the world?

Lets think about the facts:
- Facebook has 1/3 of the world as its user base (2.4 billion users)
- Libra coin will be very easily accessible to all of facebooks users
- Libra coin will be a stable coin, price will not fluctuate providing users in 3rd world countries with a medium to store their wealth.

There are already countries (like venezuela) where a national financial crisis caused fiat money to lose all worth. In desperation people are moving their life savings to bitcoin... Considering that bitcoin is a hard resource for the average person to use, imagine how quick adoption of Libra will be. Libra will be available to use on every cheap smartphone. Developed by Facebook it is sure to be a very user friendly experience, everyone will be able to use Libra. People will use it like real money in every possible way through things like facebook messenger, online shops, international transfers, peer to peer transfers...

Facebook has penetrated our lives in almost all possible ways; relationships, news, entertainment, social gatherings, advertising... the list goes on. The only thing facebook still doesn't have control over is our money. Here comes Libra...

The snowball is rolling, it can not be stopped.

Imagine the world in 20, maybe 50 years.

With the addition of Libra, and a very smart plan for user adoption Facebook can rise to a position of such great power, that it will be in control of the whole world.

There are really no two ways about it but to stop Libra coin from launching else with the assets at the disposal of Facebook which includes a massive trustful community, its only but time before Facebook users commence full banking activities on the Libra blockchain.

I read the announcement yesterday and I was shocked. I have known idex to be a semi-decentralized exchange but I didn't know it will get to these full centralized qualities. The question that begs for answer remains if cryptocurrency is gradually getting forced into centralization

Re: Is regulation good or bad?
by
CoinsOrDie
on 18/07/2019, 20:12:23 UTC
In my view, regulation will be good for Crypto industry. As we can now see  that many Govt are looking for ways to regulate the industry.

Regulation will be a good thing in the long run. It will build trust for the industry among the masses thereby resulting in mass adoption. With regulation, people will feel more comfortable and have a sense of security to invest in crypto.

I don't believe that regulation means we have to declare our portfolio. Just as nobody cares to know exactly how much you own in the bank.

Regulation will also help in curbing the possibility of using crypto to launder money and place a check and balance in ICO which will make it very difficult for scam ICOs to operate.

I say regulation will in the end be a good thing for crypto..

What's your view about it?

Now that the United States Congress is so keen on regulation and control over cryptocurrency, I can now see that the demerits of regulations might just out weigh the merits. If only cryptocurrency personalities  can fully solve exchange and fund raising frauds, things will be fine

what can I do to stop it
I have no evidence

the hacker's address is  0xEEBbC9888fD8Ec5dFC267a915664780c8fa66426

My address is 0xd125a58b966dc8bdf10489fd910ca929934a0dbc

It happened in Jun 6th

I guess I download a virus altcoin wallet and the hacker found my private key in my desktop

I am so sorry for your loss. People should learn to stop clicking random links they come across on social media and Internet. This act will perpetually put you in the dangers of phishing and hack. Any unverified website is a risk to any cryptocurrency user

Re: New coins – GRAM, LIBRA, LAW (Ubikiri)
by
CoinsOrDie
on 17/07/2019, 17:57:32 UTC
What would you choose?
I know LAW as a coin from this project https://ubikiri.com/.
Libra is the most questionable to my mind, cuz I know it's not a crypto coin as we used to use.
GRAM is a coin from Telegram project, app for messaging.
So what is your choice?

I am just learning about Ubikiri (Law) all thanks to you. It looks big but I don't know why I haven't come across it earlier. Libra is more of a stable payment coin equivalent to the dollar and might be regarded as a more bankable coin. I am eager to see gram work on Telegram since this platform is a haven for crypto

Re: ⚡️⚡️ Do you know about "ULTRA" - Gaming Platform Token Metrics?
by
CoinsOrDie
on 17/07/2019, 17:47:59 UTC

Just a brief info is posted here. For details, check this article published just today about "Ultra" token metrics and allocations.

What is Ultra?
Ultra is bringing the blockchain revolution to the gaming industry and creating a fair ecosystem for the future of games distribution.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>   Blog Link <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

More updates will follow soon...

Note: I am not a part of the  Ultra team and am not a point of contact for this project. For any questions related to the project, kindly contact the team members via Telegram

Cane accross it on cryptodiffer review group. They have a good team as well as strong use cases. I tried to buy from the Tokinex IEO platform but could not get in because it sold out in 33 seconds. All round, I think Ultra will do well

The Proliferation of altcoins in the cryptocurrency market is actually a problem but if we are looking at the long term, I belive the low quality projects will die and fizzle off. They will only create instability for top altcoins on short run
