It's pretty tragic to watch this show. 150 units of Z11 miners in shop at 999 USDT each while the aftermarket is flooded with 150 000 USDT forth of sell orders at 675 USDT per whole unit. Only a month back miners were disappearing from the shop as if people were buying them at insanely inflated prices compared to buying them "cheap" at the market. Makes me think that admins were dumping the miners directly to the market to get revenue or a lot of people were completely braindead. Well, now there are no more buyers at the market unless they plan to hold their hashrate until the end of time or the floor price gets lowered and the market price crashes.

And the Z15? Zcash halvening is a month away and people are buying hashpower that they can't sell away at 4000 USDT each. That's quite a gamble. In the past you could buy freshly released miners from the shop and dump them at the market for crazy prices. Or you could buy hashrate, mine for several months and sell the hashrate at the same price or sometimes even higher than what you paid for. Seems those days are gone.

It's almost as if Hashnest is run by some rogue prototype artificial intelligence which is completely out of touch with reality and people are still taking part in this.

I've never understood flat eathers' boners for cheap compact cameras like the Nikon P900 or its successor. They're hailed as the holy grails of cameras and when they're not able to focus correctly because of their cheap electronics and optics, the non-focused blurry images are considered to be the "true" forms of planets and stars by flat earthers. And vice versa, truly sharp pictures which are shot with better equipment and focused correctly are considered to be fakes produced by the illuminati or something.

Most sensible people would consider badly focused images as crap, but ghost hunters, flat eathers and UFO nuts thrive on crappy, shaken, badly focused and blurry images which are believed to show the "truth".

Hey,

I don't have a child because I don't have money private school/private nanny etc. Maybe in the future? I don't want to they being poorness and breadline on days. "Daddy when grandmother brings us food?! We have hungry and school have shit food"
Does your local gov't doesn't have public schools?

I think having a nanny will save you a lot of time. But that time of yours that will be saved is worthier to be with your child. Although we have to work and there's a schedule daily on it. It's better to take your part as the parent and don't let others take care of your child. With the news that I've watched, it's hard to trust others with your kids lately.

Yea we have, but I have the plan to put a private school and private daycare. Much better education.

Yep. The education system, public daycare and public welfare system are abysmal in Finland. Definitely worse than Nigeria or similar third world countries. Lot of starving, illiterate and uneducated kids and homeless, desperate people on the streets. Violent crime is rampant. Food is scarce and of low quality and the stores are mostly empty like in the Soviet Union. Also the polar bear attacks are getting worse every year. Why make kids when they surely get eaten by the polar bears when skiing alone in the wilderness on their way to the nearest public school? I'm glad Hannu has figured that out.

You had huge problems running a single Antminer S5 in your own apartment. The problems never got solved even after weeks or months of asking for help around several forums and you kept running it until it fried.

Now you're thinking about running several hundred pieces of expensive gear in a container. What could possibly go wrong? Maybe you should build your own nuclear reactor while you're at it.

I think somebody just bought a Z11 from the "shop".

So instead of instantly buying  135k hashpower from the market for ~$2200 he/she decided to spend $2400 and has to wait three months. Makes a fuckton of sense.  Huh

Yeah, but for the price of 1070 you can have 2x 580

I doubt there are heaps of 480/580 for sale for about 200 bucks / euros.

Pain? I call it fun Cheesy
That's what makes AMD for lot altcoins the best. 25% more hasrates with same or lower power usage :3

Could you name some of those algorithms and coins? When you compare the algos in whattomine front page, an RX480 beats a GTX 1070 only in monero.

1070 have more option for sure, with amd you are stuck there mining ETH,if ethereum sink what you will do with amd gpu? nothing, there is only monero which is not profitable, other algo are not optimized or the optimization is private

Care to elaborate on that part ?

hasn't AMD been the best brand overall for mining over the past years, and not just for ETH (I'm thinking aboute BTC of course, Litecoin, BOINC etc... ) ?

Sure. But that's in the past before nVidia Pascal came to the market a year ago. nVidia Pascal architecture is way more energy efficient than Polaris when the GPU core is heavily utilized. If there's a good CUDA optimized miner for a certain algo, a GTX 1070 murders a Polaris with hashrate and efficiency. And of course it should since it's a more advanced and more expensive card.

BTW, mining with Polaris cards is an absolute pain in the ass with the need for bios mods to get a decent hashrate, many different memory brands which need different individual bios tweaks, the need for hdmi dummy plugs or monitors connected to the cards, tweaking with wattool, etc.

I got a bit moar of dem hashes out of a 1700X:

595 H/s @ 3.7GHz @ 1.2V:

650 H/s @ 4.0 GHz @ 1.42V:

Affinity in the config.txt set to even numbers of threads (0,2,4,6,8,10,12,14) and nothing else can be running in the background or the hashrate takes a big hit.

Most Nvidia's went back to ETH mining and most botnets went back to XMR.

Nvidia back to Ethereum? When? Why? Maxwell nVidias suck at Ethereum and if you check whattomine.com, Eth is nowhere near the most profitable coins for Pascal architecture cards like GTX 1070.

Mining Litecoin with a GPU is like trying to fill an empty swimming pool with a tea spoon  Grin . It can be done, but it makes no sense when there are specialized gear for that. (scrypt ASICs)

Several years ago when LTC GPU mining was profitable people got 500-800 kh/s out of a powerful desktop AMD GPU so 500 kh/s sounds about right for a new laptop nvidia GPU.

You might want to try mining ZCash with EWBF miner or some another coin which is profitable. Or just take the easy route and use Nicehash miner which automatically chooses the most profitable coin for you after benchmarking your machine. Mining with a laptop isn't smart though. You might fry it as it isn't designed for long term high gpu loads.

With new driver for pascal nvidia , release next week , eth/etc on new windows 10 x64 redstone ( 1607 ) , has expected 33 mhs with one gtx 1070 .

Confirm ? .

I'm not able to push my Palit Super Jetstream 1070 past 30 MH/s (Win 10 64bit / Genoil 1.1.7 / 369.09 WHQL).

But on the other hand it can do 28 MH/s while taking only 70-80 watts (set at 55% power limit, core underclocked by -400 MHz and memory overclocked by +400 MHz in MSI afterburner).

I managed to build 1.0.8 on Ubuntu 16.04 but I had to make a directory called "CL" in the main directory and copy "cl.hpp" file from my old 1.0.7 build folder in there. Looks like that folder and file are missing from github.

cmake -DBUNDLE=cudaminer -DCOMPUTE=30 -DCUDA_HOST_COMPILER=/usr/bin/gcc-4.9 ..
worked on my testbench on 15.10 the server is still down need to try it there to.

i did a try on 16.04 but got som errors. used the same cmake a on 15.10

I got the NVCC fatal STD error too when building with cmake 3.5.1 but I finally got it compiled on my Ubuntu 16.04 laptop using the following steps:

- removed cmake 3.5.1
- downloaded cmake 3.2.2, built it from source and installed it
- added the following line as the first line of CMakeLists.txt:

set(CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS "${CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS} -D_FORCE_INLINES")

And that was that. I didn't use any special flags and arguments to build it, just the  "sudo cmake -DBUNDLE=cudaminer"

I still haven't tried this on my mining rig though, it was just a test compile on my laptop.

The firmware can be reflashed using a USB TTL programming dongle wired directly to the controller board. There are instructions out there. Of course that method isn't for everybody but the usb dongle costs almost nothing on ebay.

"If it turns out to be a scam"

Oh, come on! They have a counterfeit news history leading back to 2012. They claimed to have 150 000 users in 2014 although the site came online in January 2015.

And according to a thread in Litecointalk they had fake employee photos stolen elsewhere from the net. The site layout is stolen from DigitalOcean.

No need to wait for the payouts to stop until this can be called a scam.
