Re: Have you ever exchanged BTC face to face?

I have done this, however I do not know if it counts because it is with people whom I was doing business with and I paid for a project to be completed and when they came to deliver, I paid in bitcoin.  Does this count?

We sould be creating more ways to get more people to use bitcoin.  There is so much potential here, we just need the people to invite others and teach them about it.

Re: Bitcoin Will Kill The Income Tax

The wealthy already avoid many taxes. I don't think Bitcoin will make that much difference in tax avoidance. Taxes will still be collected on purchases at regular business and possibly when cashing out Bitcoin.
The wealthy avoid taxes legally through the loopholes in the system.  Bitcoin is a whole different ball game and there soon will be a team paid by the government to track bitcoin usage to be sure no one can avoid taxes using bitcoin.  I am not sure how they will do it, but I am sure they are working on it already.

I also have to agree that the security offered with bitcoin is the best reason to use it.  Some say that you could easily loose it by forgetting your address or keys, but that is the same with the money you have in your back pocket, you can loose that also.

Re: What is the best source of bitcoin nowadays?

I do not see the best source mentioned.  IMO, the best course would be earning it by offering a service of some sort.  That would be the best way to get it and get enough of it to make a difference.

Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children

My question since this post has been out, is how many people teach their kids about bitcoin?  If a child has an extra 2 hours to play on this  per week for 10 years, they have the ability to earn about $600 per year with bitcoin.  I think they should all be told about it.

How will this exactly kill the income tax?  I understand what is being written, however the income tax is still due whether or not it is collected from the door or not.  Not paying it will be considered tax evasion and that is not good.

It is bad for business that this company is out. It is bad for bitcoin in general, for if a number of companies like this go out, then others will get scared and follow to collect while they can.  Just IMO

I know there are a large number of them.  I am one of the sad souls who did not take it seriously and lost my whole wallet after I invested $1,800 into 100 of them a long time a go.  It happens and good luck to whom ever finds them.

Iwould have to say that this would be a good idea if someone would run it and not try to do what the banks today do and rip the customers off and loan out 10 times what they have in the bank.  I doubt that will happen, so BAD IDEA!

Re: Effects of Banning Bitcoin ?
by
Conus
on 11/12/2016, 01:13:32 UTC
If your country ban bitcoin i think that you can still earn bitcoin and life good. How your couuntry can controll your secret bitcoin wallets? If you use bitcoin and send to skrill or paypal or other your country cant see your transaction and you are winner.

Your ISP provider can look on your Internet browsing history and find out if you are using Bitcoin in such an easy way. You are being monitored by your ISP and your data can be sent to anyone at any time. This is why I hate the governments seeking for control...... Why can't we just have freedom?
This is correct, however when you log into a VPS, your ISP is monitoring your activity, not that of the VPS.  Because of this, would you not be able to use bitcoin if your VPS is in a country where bitcoin is available?  I know for work, I have logged into VPS from another VPS for the purpose of repairing a computers settings remotely.

Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities
by
Conus
on 10/11/2016, 03:10:19 UTC
i heard many illegal activities used bitcoin in deepweeb
but i think it will rise bitcoin in the future
many ppl used it so many ppl will look for it
yeah I think it is true that the news that there are many users who use bitcoin for illegal activities, even gambling also is illegal, because the bitcoin system are anonymous, this makes the user more comfortable using bitcoin for illegal activities
The legality of gambling depends from country to country so its impossible to generalize, in the subject of drugs the laws of the countries a re a lot closer to each other so you could draw some generalized arguments but even that is changing.
The issue I think people have with gambling is that the governments everywhere must get their cut.  If they do not, then they decide to make it illegal.  Just like alcohol and marijuana in the USA.  It is illegal because the government could not get their cut at first.

Re: Could there be a law on stolen bitcoins?
by

on 10/11/2016, 03:08:50 UTC
There are laws in which this falls under, it is called theft and fraud.  The issue is that there are not enough information about the Bitcoin and not enough funds to help prevent bitcoin from being stolen.  As soon as a enforcement agency comes into play, then there will be issues and problems for these thieves.

Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear?
by
Conus
on 10/11/2016, 03:07:11 UTC
I believe that is it absolutely impossible that btc will destroy the bank system.
Beside its unpredictability, how could btc ever reach every country in the world? Think about the third world and remember: no internet no bitcoin.

this is what i am trying to say too.  for bitcoin to be accessed, people need internet, so automatically those who are i the remote are will not be able to use bitcoin.  Second,  even if bitcoin have replaced fiat money, there are several services of banks that cannot be replaced by bitcoin like storing important physical documents and many more.
The question I would then ask is what is the point of the physical money?  There si no need for it as long as people can access the internet in some way to use the money.  There is no need to use physical money, sop lets just change to digital currency.

Re: how strong is bitcoin really?
by

Nobody is safe even the FIAT money I think but for me Bitcoin is more safer than FIAT in terms of robbery, so in short nothing is safe it's just how you can safe it.
How are you determining whether or not something is safer that BTC, etc?  Biitcoin I though would be safer because there is no way to beat the system and take it.  Unles your account is hacked and such, there is not much of a way to loose it.  The same can happen to FIAT and all other coins.  Just wondering what basis you are using to make this statement.

I do not think that it would be possible for bitcoin to just disappear.  There are to many computers out there running small nodes making it almost impossible for it to just up and quit.  I do think that there could be a slowdown, but not a disappearance of bitcoin.

Re: Bitcoin Mining Just Stopped?
by

Is there enough power throughout the rest of the world to keep bitcoin running and confirming?

Confirmations would slow down for a while (more than 10 minutes average between confirmations).  Then when we reached the next difficulty adjustment period (every 2016 blocks), the difficulty would be reduced and everything would continue normally once again.
How hard would it be to get caught up though?  I understand that it would slow down, but it is an arm and a let in order to get into mining right now with the difficulty at this point.  I think that it would be harder to get into mining and catch up or would mining become easier?

Bitcoin is being used for good all of the time.  There is always a chance that people will be using it for bad and illegal behavior. We need to prevent this as a group in order to help bitcoin further things along.

Bitcoin Mining Just Stopped?
by
Conus
on 24/10/2016, 21:42:06 UTC
What would happen if all these large mining farms just up and quit business?  They have allow of money in bitcoin and all, but what if one of them decided to try to pump the price and then just stopped mining, or just stopped mining for some reason.   Is there enough power throughout the rest of the world to keep bitcoin running and confirming?
