Very jealous of those amazing miners.

Here are some pictures of my secondary miner (operational for 3 weeks now I think)

Less guetto then my first machine and happy to say these miners cost me so little.
The P5K motherboard with the E8400 was unused for over 5 months,
I just found 2x Radeon 6870's for 125$ each and jumped on it.
Added an "AcePower 600W PSU" and voila. (Brand sounds cheap, but they are excellent quality)

High end Maxtore 40Gig IDE Drive does the job  Grin.

I originally posted this in the newbi section requesting to be set free.

Specs:
AMD Semron
AMD 890 Chipset with 6x PCIE slots
80Gig drive
Windows7 X64
Using Guiminer. (again lazyness)

700W Acepower PSU (Cost effective but very reliable)

5570     60-75Mhash       680Mhz GPU Clock          temps   83
6950     380Mhash          946Mhz GPU Clock          temps   62           64           68
6570     75-90Mhash       725Mhz GPU Clock          temps   68.5
6950     360Mhash          905Mhz GPU Clock          temps   79           84           89

cheers.

The total hash rate of the above is between 900 and 910Mhash according to slushpool
When I started generated around a bitcoin every 10 days, now with the release of Avalon it's up to 14days and counting due to increase of difficulty.

Price of hardware.
Motherboard + CPU + case = 120$
6950's 220$ for both
PSU = 75$
HDD was laying around
Radeon 5570 and 6570 were laying around the house.

All in all I am doing this for fun, I now have 2 bitcoins from the above and with the current price, it wont be long for my machine to pay itself off... about 1 more month.

I am looking forward to seeing ASIC machines drop in price in the future so I can get one... when demand goes down and when It's mandatory.

The beauty of it all is I don't pay for power. It's all included in the office lease.

Excuse the server room mess. It needs a good cleaning and half those machines need to get tossed.

Anyone else getting emails of "invoice Payment Confirmation" from info@cloudhashing.com ?

I ask because I got 2 of those today, with an attachment called invoice_773.jar

If you get such an email, obviously, don't open the attachment.

I got my X1 miner today. Can anyone point me in the right direction of a setup guide with linking it to a pool etc?

I have managed to access the miner by finding the IP address from my routers attached devices but thats as far as I have got.

I have found the guide on Minersource not very helpful as the IP address on there didnt work and it doesnt say anything about adding pool details as the images on their guide are different to what I am seeing on the webpage.

Thanks

Try minersource thread

You want to google slushpool and create an account with them.

You create a miner for example

x1.accountname

You go to your miner's web login

you go to pools

url: stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333
user: x1.accountname
pass: password

it will start mining right away

In slush pool, point your payments to your bitcoin wallet.

It's pretty easy.

So I had a 2 week vacation in Greece, I was pretty sure that I would get my X1's while I am away.

And now I check the forums to see that very little changed and after reviewing 5 previous pages, I just can't find any worthy information.

Please help.

Have BA shipped out X1's to BA Customers yet ? (I purchased 10 X1's from BA Directly)

So, you guys think the X1's will ship out this week ?

I would love to have an official update on this from the guys at BA or Bob.

Time for me to get a little bit of hate by my fellow members  Grin

I actually like the compensation plan, I find it way better then 25% hosted power for 6 months.

And I certainly understand the frustration of people who only got 1 X1 because I would also be pissed off, and I also wouldn't want to pay more to get more.
But this is something you have to take care of with your re-seller.

For BA, it's logical and works fine, considering they only sold batch1 unites in bulks of 10
. (Correct me if I am wrong)

I am not saying BA is perfect, far from it in fact. There is much they could have done better, however buying those devices as a pre-order, I expected this to happen.
The only thing that would make me unhappy, would be to have to wait another 3+ months. I can deal with a little more wait.

For the silence, I take it they don't want to give bad news untill they get all their cards right and give a final accurate update.

The one thing many companies should start doing is "Under Promise, Over Deliver"
Give an extra month delay, ship 2 weeks early... everyone would be thrilled.

I don't feel BFLed so far... and speaking of which, I just want our toys to be in our hands before these f***s ship their Monarch...
Just principle of entertainment for me after following their hate thread on the original ASIC's.

Sadly it's nothing new.

I have seen cryptolocker 3-5 months ago...

As an I.T. consultant, I have had at least 7 clients get hit within the last 5 months...

I spend many hours of research to unlock or decrypt files... in most cases, it was a backup recovery. In others, a loss of not so critical data.

If cryptocurrency had been around in 1930, Hitler would've never risen to power, and World War II never would have happened.

Think about it.

Just one more reason Bitcoin is good for the world.

Computers however are one of the positive outcomes of the second world war.

1- GPU mining is now for alternative currencies such as litecoin.
2- You can view an estimate of how cards perform here.

I recommend an ATI, Nvidia cards do not perform well for mining... Someone correct me if I am mistaken.

I hate to admit I didn't put much research on the matter.

I know Vancouver has bitcoin ATM's, Tigerdirect.ca is not the size of newegg, but still very popular and accepting bitcoins.

I wouldn't think it's bad personally... All I know that has dropped to sh!t is our leadership... specially for me...
I got a retard for Quebec PM who wants to separate and offend all ethnic groups and a puppet for Canada that destroyed our reputation of piece keeping and our scientific communities in order to pollute the environment...

Sorry... I got carried away there.

Are you telling me that, if cavirtex sends me cash from bitcoins/litecoins mined... I can get my account closed ?

This would be total madness considering as someone who works full time, and deposits a steady income, has savings, mortgage and insurance with them...
My mining income is less than 5% of my work income...

It would be total madness.

Canada only has a handfull of banks.

TD - Toronto Dominion (I think)
BMO - Bank of Montreal
RBC - Royal Bank of Canada
Banque National
Caisse Desjardins
Banque Laurencienne

perhaps some others, I just listed the ones that are popular in Quebec/Montreal

I personally exclussively deal with TD only and have never had an issue... granted I am one of the smallest of small fries in the bitcoin world... just direct depositing miniscule amounts of cash from cavirtex.

People need to chill. You invested on something that you should have known is high risk, high reward.

Sure, there was a screw up... But please reserve your freakouts for if there is another delay and no progress shown.

All I want is for the damn things to be extremely reliable and run for as long as there are bitcoins.

Might take some time for a ROI on my 10 X1's but as long as they keep working, I will have it and then some.

Worst case senario, it's funner than gambling and reading the entertainment on this forum is amusing.

Now, how are those monarch cards doing ? ... The only way I will be disappointed is if the Monarch comes out before I get my new toys, and work reliably.

What I would like to know is, who is the competition ?

I know there is BFL with their "Monarch", and frankly, that is the least of my concerns...

But what other company has next gen ASIC machines and what are their release dates ?

Dont do anything that you would regret and think about the people around you.

Pretty much this. I am sorry for your loss, but if this is a serious thread, don't do anything stupid.

Seriously, as quoted, think of your friends and family !
There are always ways around complicated situations.

Sorry, but
I think the 1st suicide will be a dogecoiner.

I don`t think he is for or against guns, but the post might pass off as amusing to some people who live outside of the USA.

It would pass off as amusing to some in the US as well. I'm in Canada and own a small collection of rifles and handguns. I also reload my own ammunition, so I'm frequently buying reloading supplies like primers, gunpowder and projectiles. My next purchase will probably be in a couple weeks. I plan on getting a Trijicon TR24G for one of my bullpup rifles, which is intended for 3Gun and short/medium range hunting.

I'd say that my collection of firearms and ammunition would be considered respectable, even by US standards, and I have friends that are in the same boat.

I have tossed the idea of accepting Bitcoin out to a few guys on the Canadian Gun Nutz forum but got no biters. I just keep a wallet address in my sig line in case anyone wishes to graciously donate bitcoin to help me buy more lead to keep my casting/reloading costs low for some of my high caliber fun... Cheesy

I am rather curious about what province you are in.

To my knowledge (which is rather limited on the topic I admit), handguns are illegal to own.
Not that I care as long as the owner is an intelligent and VERY responsible person.

Living in Montreal, I don't think it would be easy for me to acquire a license or a few different type of guns... Reason why I got into traditional archery.
But if I was able to easily get my hands on some, I would love to have some Classics, such as a Mosin bolt action rifle, a PPSH41, STG44 and the good old AK47

In reality, I know I wont get any of them, it's just not in my environment nor would I get out of my way to get any of them.

I don`t think he is for or against guns, but the post might pass off as amusing to some people who live outside of the USA.

For most countries, gun laws are astonishingly strict and people cannot find them easily unless they know people who know the wrong kind of people who are able to get them smuggled.

But in all seriousness, it`s not a bad idea to sell anything for bitcoins as long as you did the proper homework and research regarding your surrounding laws on the topic... However, if it`s the sells of guns, I don`t think the business can be anything else but a local business.
