Thanks for the heads-up on Mintpal guys.
I just woke up after a fitful 1 hour of sleep - maybe my subconscious was telling me something.
I managed to withdraw from Mintpal and funds are now in my wallet.
I may not use them again what with the silly trade patterns previously reported in this thread and now this fiasco.
Looks like all current orders are locked and cannot be cancelled

their treating it like bitcoin is a company and your betting on the price. meaning your not actually buying bitcoin and neither is etoro on your behalf
you might aswell get ablank peice of paper and ask a friend to buy it of you and u just write down the details on a piece of paper.. this will not affect bitcoin prices as etoro are not buying from any exchange.
its all fake trading based on following actual trades on actual exchanges that are unrelated to etoro, this is why i think eft's and other crap are not worth it. its great for FIAT traders to make more FIAT. but those that truly understand bitcoin and want bitcoin to succeed. etoro has nothing to do with bitcoin.. its just a logo on their webpage and a chart that changes,, no actual bitcoins are traded on etoro.

I have been involved in the hotel business for 10+ years. Most hotels will require a c.c. to pull funds out of if the customer steals something, or they end up staying hours after the check-out time, buy movies, buy upsells, etc.

Theres a new player in the increasingly-crowded and increasingly-arbitrary world of cryptocurrency.
Coinye West, scheduled to launch on Jan. 11, is as the name implies a digital Kanye-themed currency. Its creators arent revealing their names, perhaps because the whole project surely constitutes copyright infringement. But they were, in an interview with Vice, forthcoming on their motives: Coinye West is a cryptocurrency for the masses. Bitcoin is for hardcore money-hoarders, and Dogecoin was more for the Internet-meme crowds Our goal with Coinye West is to make it easier for people to use cryptocurrency.
For those of us who still have only the most tenuous of grasps on Bitcoin and Dogecoin, an explainer: These cryptocurrencies are basically decentralized financial systems with their own invented currencies. Theyre appealing because theyre anonymous and peer-to-peer no middle-man! and thus potentially augur an age of new, more open financial services. (My colleague Tim Lee has written a brilliant explainer on Bitcoin, which you can read here.)
Heres the thing, though: Because the currencies are invented, and because Bitcoins code is open-source, anyone can theoretically start their own. By some estimates, there are more than 60 Bitcoin imitators in circulation now. These novelty Bitcoin knock-offs are, in many cases, jokes but they can still be worth a lot of money.
That, more than any altruistic interest in educating the Bitcoin-less masses, seems like the likeliest motivation behind this latest coin. But in either case, its a pretty entertaining idea.
