Has anyone seen this?  What do we make of this?

STOP using Phoenix miner immediately!
https://www.nicehash.com/blog/post/stop-using-phoenix-miner-immediately

Congratulations on your internet connection. This was discussed a week ago.
TL;DR
Nicehash accused Phoenix of being closed source, tax evasion and not logging into the forum. They also did not forget to advertise their quickminer.
Then Phoenix explained everything and Nicehash did not apologize, although he promised.
As a result, many are now afraid to use Phoenix, and it has lost a lot of its audience.
p.s. mega was restored to him

You could opt for a middle ground, producing your own private key and signing all subsequent PhoenixMiner releases with it, without registering with an official CA to sign that key. You could then post your public key here in the thread's first post, so any future binaries can be verified against it.
and add more DAG epohs  Cool

I agree, NH has a very large army, and they have a lot of purchased media. phoenix is very little advertised, so we need to spread more information about it on all platforms.
Moreover, many bloggers are already calling to leave Phoenix for other programs, this should not be allowed, since Phoenix is the most convenient program at the moment!
Thank you to all the sites, social networks, and bloggers who don't believe NH and continue to support Phoenix!
Yes, we need more good PR for phoenix, otherwise the whole audience will go to nicehash, especially newbies who don't understand it. I read the forums and see in the chats that people believe nicehash.

We have added some additional files that were hosted on MEGA previously, as well as some older versions of PhoenixMiner here:

   https://github.com/PhoenixMinerDevTeam/files/

If a lot of people are using even older versions of PhoenixMiner, let us know and we will add them. However we advise against using older versions because most of them won't even work with the current DAG epoch, and we will not offer any support for anything older than the last two releases (5.4c, and 5.5c).
Thanks  Cool

hmm... NiceHash Co-Founder, Škorjanc, who was known online as "iserdo" and "serdo," is further accused of creating and deploying the malicious botnet Mariposa, which harvested personal data from nearly a million computers around the world. Mariposa caused estimated damages of around $4 million after using cyber-scamming and denial-of-service (DOS) attacks to effectively turn infected computers into remotely controlled zombies.

There is nothing to worry about if you have changed the wallets in all files to your own.

But now it's better to download from GitHub directly.

Guys, I don't want to say big words, but judging by the huge advertising message on Reddit from NiceHash, it looks like they are uploading version 5.5d themselves.
Because everything matched perfectly: Non-existent versions from accounts with 0 messages, then they complain to Mega (at the same time to the real one) and immediately write huge posts that "STOP using it immediately!"
But the guys from NiceHash failed because of the inadequate posts of their representatives.
You should have said "until the link is available, we are disabling this plugin", not "STOP using it immediately!" and accusations of closed source code.
They did not act very nicely.

Fantastic. Are you able to confirm phoenixminer.org? Is it legit? It was hosting on OneDrive last week. That is where I downloaded from because the link in this thread was dead.

I checked the SHA hash from the four executables and .dll that you posted just recently and they are the same.

I'm paranoid because people in this thread said it was not legit. Why is there not more warnings about that site? I'm about ready to wipe my PC and never mine in windows again; only through booting Hive from USB

No, he has said many times that this is not his site.
I also downloaded from there because BitcoinTalk often does not open in my country.
There sha amounts are always the same as here.

So...It's actually the same, but it comes with a lot of pools bats premade. You just gotta change the wallet addresses and the .config with the ones you want if your main pool is failing to connect. It's a secure site, but it's best to download from GitHub now.

You're trying to ruin someone's credibility hard since I know you. Not just Phoenix's but also Claymore's years ago.

Hello,
What happened to Claymore if you know him? Is he alive at all?

please some can notify me ?

Yes, it's safe. There the sums of the .exe file match, as well as .dll, sys.
There are many .bat files in the archive, so the amount of the total archive is different, but the amount of the executable file is the same - hence it is safe.
It looks like this is a site for crypto enthusiasts, there are instructions with referral links and training materials with requests for donations.

Checksums for my unpacked 5.5C files downloaded 29.02.2021 follows:

PhoenixMiner.exe:
SHA1 11428C3BDF728860FD057C411A95B14E13F05DBC

EIO.exe:

IOMap64.sys

check the sums of the exe, dll, EIO and IOMap64 files, they must match these.

you can check the sha amount here: https://md5file.com/calculator. Just upload there there one by one PhoenixMiner.exe, EIO.dll, EIO.exe: and IOMap64.sys.

You should have the same amounts as those I indicated above.

Do not believe NiceHash, they themselves stole money from people in 2017.
Now they are spreading rumors about Phoenix. I've been using it for several years now and everything is fine.
NiceHash is lying. NiceHash is a scam.

Can someone confirm that the MEGA Files from this post (on the first page) were not compromised - they were simply disabled by MEGA.

files were not compromised because all sources have the same SHA1 sum of .exe files:
PhoenixMiner.exe 5.5c - SHA1: 11428C3BDF728860FD057C411A95B14E13F05DBC

So don't panic. Mega simply deleted the link by mistake, and Claymore, Ace Miner, Claymore Mod and other mining software were also removed.
I assume that NiceHash itself is subject to removal. They complained about the file themselves. and then made a hype out of it.
It is also profitable for NiceHash to promote their miners rather than Phoenix. It's just competition.

It looks like MEGA had a bug. Not only PHOENIX was removed, but also Claymore, Claymore fork (mod v1.9) and other miners.
Also, MEGA was removed from sites with instructions for setting up programs. It says how to install and how to uninstall the program, so that they did not violate the MEGA rules, having the same sha amount as the original.
So the problem is with Mega algorithms.

On AMD there's a noticeable difference (cca 1MH/s higher). Besides that I can see a much more consistent submitted share count compared to Claymore. The graph is not so choppy but almost a nice straight line. This goes for nVidia cards as well.
