Re: Is bitcoin dead?
by

on 22/04/2018, 04:15:12 UTC
Hey all check out my interview following segwit2x explaining why bitcoin is not dead!  https://humblyyourservant.com/2017/11/13/bitcoin-is-not-dead/

Would love any feedback!
Is this even a question?  Absolutely not!  There is still an amount even it is lower than before,  but again,  it still has an amount.  Also,  I think it is close to impossible for bitcoin to be dead and that will be just possible if internet will be also gone someday.  But that is unusual.

Possesses bitcoin as well as holding a gun  Huh Smiley Huh
http://bitcoinnews.com/cryptocurrencies-gun-crime-canada/
I think it depends on their country you are residing in.  If you are in a country where bitcoin is banned,  then it is illegal to possess one and the same with countries which does not banned bitcoin then it is OK to have one.

Re: Why compare BTC to USD?
by
Craigne
on 21/04/2018, 04:17:27 UTC
When people talk about Bitcoin price, they usually refer to its price expressed in dollars. I really don't understand why...

US Dollar is going down in price, US economy is collapsing. There are many other countries which has more Bitcoin users, like Russia, China, Japan, Philippines and the whole Eurozone. Even ICOs are forbidden in the USA. It's not a so Bitcoin-friendly country, its national currency is not so strong. So why price Bitcoin in $?

There could be many other more appropriate currencies like EUR, CNY or RUB...
Yes there are many currencies you can compare to but they compare bitcoin to dollars just because dollar is like English which English is the universal language.  Dollars is the most important currency because it is the main comparisons for all currencies like here in Philippines which know the stock market they compare the value of peso and dollars and what have been changed day by day, but it doesn't mean that other currencies can not be compared to bitcoin. It is just that for uniformity purposes,  people uses dollars to compare the value of bitcoin.

Re: Had a talk with my son today about my bitcoins
by
Craigne
on 21/04/2018, 03:26:04 UTC
I sat my 7yr old son down and showed him my ledger nano and how to use it in case anything ever happens to me.
I explained there is electronic money on it and it will be his one day. Went through the process of wiping it and restoring with the seed. But reminded him never ever tell anyone about it is our secret.

He's a smart kid and was amazed at how it's secured by an extremely complex code and that no one can steal the money you can take it anywhere and it's safer than a bank because the ledger is a bank itself (i know that's not quite correct but still). I didn't tell him how much are on there but told him one day it will be extremely valuable that's why I'm telling him about it is for him when he grows up.

Later that day we talked about how to secure the seed and printing it on a metal plate. He thinks it is so cool.

It amazed me how a child instantly understood it and showed how cryptos are for the future generations not us. We are early adopters so buy at least 1 bitcoin for your kids. Just might set them up for life.
It is good to share them your knowledge so that they can adapt to these modern advancements easily and smoothly but be careful on sharing him your knowledge and some of your keys.  He might use it for certain purposes that you didn't know.  Educate him the best way you can.  Hoping he will be also successful in this field.

Re: Is Bitcoin Still Good to Make Investment in it

Absolutely yes.  Bitcoin is a good investment even though it has a lower value and for me it is actually a blessing in disguise.  It is because lower price is a good opportunity of buying some coins and holding it until the value of bitcoin increases,  and it is absolutely will happen,  hopefully.

Re: Will bitcoin destroy the world?
by
Craigne
on 19/04/2018, 11:13:29 UTC

Bitcoin mining is based on very high energy costs and environmental costs.

One bitcoin =20 barrels of oil.

How many barrels of oil do you think the industry consumes every year?

10 barrels? 50 barrel?

Each year, the mining industry consumes more than 24 terawatts of energy, the equivalent of 13,239,916 barrels of oil.

Every 10 minutes, 12.5 bitcoins are dug up, meaning 20 barrels of crude oil have been reached since each bitcoin was dug up (not yet traded).

In other words, the amount of energy consumed by the global bitcoin mining campaign is 40 times greater than the amount of energy needed to support the Visa card network.

One bitcoin transaction = one American family USES electricity a week.

According to encrypt the currency analyst Alex DE Vries estimate an index, the currency trading energy consumed each year more than 24 tw, this is equivalent to total energy consumed each year in Nigeria, which has a population of 186 million.

Currently, about 300,000 bitcoins are traded each day. Each bitcoin transaction costs 215 kilowatt-hours of energy.

The average American household USES about 901 kilowatt-hours of electricity a month, which means that each bitcoin exchange consumes enough energy to make an American family comfortable for a week.

What do you think about the energy consumption of bitcoin?
Where is the source of this information?  Where do these numbers come out?  I mean,  is this even reliable? But for the question if bitcoin will destroy the world,  absolutely not! If you are talking about the electricity consumption,  I think those who are in bitcoin min in ng,  they are just a little amount compare to the worldwide consumption.  It is not felt by electricity producers. So not.

Re: No future for bitcoin

Guys, I think in future bitcoin will fell down and Instead of old blockchain technologies will come new and more large-scale projects. Bitcoin It is just the beginning.
I think this is not a intuitive guess. For me it is nearly impossible for any cryptocurrency to dethrone bitcoin in the top.  It will take a lot OT happenings for it to happen,  and for me that would not like to happen.

Yes of course, bitcoin is a good investment.  It is not because te value of bitcoin from these days is lower than it used to be it means that it is not a good investment. It is actually a good opportunity to buy some bitcoin because of its lower price.  We are all sure that bitcoin will retain its value as months passes by,  and boom!  You now earn.

Bitcoin is very good to young people.  It is because it is making them productive,  not just a bystander. It makes them even money and making them more responsible to things they have.  It also makes their decision making wiser, making them a better citizen.

Now a day bitcoin is more popular all over the world, several people makes bitcoin as a source of everything either ordinary or riches people. They use bitcoin to help theirselves and others, but if you will be given a chance to have 10 Btc would you think can you give some Btc for those who belongs to indigenous peoples including charities?

Share your thoughts.

Thank you.
Obviously,  yes,  I am willing to do so.  It is because I felt so much sympathy to poor people or anyone that needs help,  and I am sick of the feeling of not helping them because before I do not have that power. But now,  I am having these money so it's time to help them.

I think its not too late if you won't let give up, you still must try. But if you not give yourself a try then maybe you make an opportunity to make things late. As long as Bitcoin standing do not hesitate, remember you'll never discover the essence of a book if you'll never try to open it.

Re: How to motivate a person to work?
by
Craigne
on 11/02/2018, 08:54:34 UTC
Let that someone see how work essential for living. Some people use to be dependent than being independent because there are someone or something they can lay for. One of the ways to motivate them is to make them realize that working is not just about money but also profession. It is something you don't need but want, it is important that they are happy not because of profit but because they want what they'll do.

Re: Hey guys do you think that Bitcoin price will continue decreasing ?
by
Craigne
on 08/02/2018, 06:10:05 UTC
No one can predict the future. Bitcoin user and funder hold bitcoin's future, There are some instances where the bitcoin's value may decrease but time comes that it pays back. Bitcoin may define as unstable, value may decrease but for now this some sort of unfortunate event is surely temporary and not be longer. "Patience" should be part of bitcoin user's vocabulary.
