You can use it unless your PS isn't capable of handling those extra GPU's

I am building my first rig. I got 1x1080, 3x1060 3GB, 1x1050Ti, cpu is i3-6100. My question is if a 850w Gold PSU enough for them?
1000W[80plus Gold/Titanium] is the best option

Re: Why my rig is entering automatically in BIOS and freezes?
by

I doubt it is the PSU. I have a SeaSonic - PRIME Gold 1200W 80+ Gold Certified. My graphics cards are Radeon Pro Duo Professional with 32 GB memory. Their consumption is 200 w maximum while mining.

your cards can draw more than 250watts/cards during mining ! Max Power Consumption for those cards  during "normal workload is : 250W (Typical Board Power (TBP))

I cannot even get to mining. I cannot even switch on the computer. When I turn it on it freezes with a black screen and it shows nothing. I tried 2 psu. I changed the risers, the same thing happens. I think it something from bios but don't know what for sure.
The gpu are dual so they are seen as 2. When I insert 4, motherboard sees it as 8.maybe this is the problem
Yes OS/MBD detects it as 2 GPU's. So this should be the problem and I don't think your motherborad supports 8 GPU's

Re: This psu work with this setup?
by
CryptBoy:)
on 06/01/2018, 17:40:49 UTC
motherboard: ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ Intel H110 LGA 1151
psu: be quiet! Dark Power PRO 11 1000W
cpu: Intel Pentium G4400 Pentium 3.3 GHz - Skt 1151 Skylake - 54 W
ram: G.Skill Value Series DIMM - 4 GB DDR-4 2,400 MHz - non-ECC
ssd 120gb
6x rx580

i wonder that psu can work with this setup without problem?

6 x RX580, 110w each = 660w
CPU - 54w
RAM/SSD - 10w
Mobo - 100w

Total 814w. Never run your psu at 100% for 24/7, so add 20%, which comes to 976w, so I would go for 1000w PSU.

Just want to point out that the math here is slightly flawed as we usually calculate based on 80% efficiency of the PSU.

If the total is 814W, the calculation should be 814/0.8 = 1017.5. So in this case, the OP should go for a 1100W or higher PSU.

That said, the difference is very small, so a 1000W at 81.4% utilisation should be alright. Smiley
Yes Anything above 1000W should be fine.. but not below 1000.

This is the best time to buy bitcoin when the price of it will decrease, more investor and trader do the same to buy it and that's the time bitcoin price will pump again because of the demand.
Yes , When the price decreases you invest in it  Grin

I want to use this motherboard for mining

Then use ALL RISERS

Once again I am telling this that if I use riser in full gpu slot (8x,x4,x4) slot than It does not recognize it and Currently there are 4 Gpus connected, one is in motherboard.

Other 3 are in risers and are plugged in Pcie 1x slot (The mini slots that we cannot put a gpu on them and these are only 4 in this mother board (one is not usable as it is under main gpu)

So I want to use other full gpu slots for risers but when I plug riser into full gpu slots(8x,4x,x4) than windows does not show any new gpu actually it does not recognize anything new).

You should be able to connect x3 ATI GPU's(x8,x4,x4) without any issue. Please check with MSI. I had a chance to work with this board ..

Let's talk about gaming on this motherboard.

First I was able to crossfire 2 rx 570 but than I removed for some settings after sometime I inserted both into motherboard than in windows there is only one rx 570 showed (Tried Bios Reset ETC).

So currently tried to crossfire one main gpu 570 and 2 other 470 but in windows there is only one gpu shows the main gpu 570 and other 2 does not show and their lights, fan works fine.

AMD Drivers used
Beta Aug 11 and 23
ReLive-17.1.1-Jan16

Is there some issue with windows 10 should I reinstall it or there any problem with this motherboard?

Anyone confirm this motherboard supports 6 gpus? without 4g decoding option? if yes than I will reinstall windows 10 it will be a last try.

Then it seems the problem could be with the motherboard than OS. Better raise a support ticket with MSI. They would help much faster than US Smiley

Hello guys! Yeah, it's another of those threads where a noob asks for some sound mining advice.

I've been in crypto since 2014-2015 and doing pretty well overall, i'm a FA / long-hold / storng hands type of guy, really loving the crypto scene so far (mostly for the memes). I've never mined anything except for some brief experiments with my gaming PC (i remeber mining around 7 DCR per day in early 2016 and thinking "yeah, this is not really worth it". Damn me.).

I've read quite a while in the last couple of weeks about mining, but i still could use some advice from you. So i'm about to buy my first rig and this is what i'm currently looking at:

Mobo: Asrock H110 Pro BTC+ A bit expensive maybe but could allow me to connect 13 GPUs to it if i want to expand my mining operations
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2 80+ GOLD two medium PSUs Vs a single, big one. Still undecided, can't see the cons of having a huge 1300 one
GPU: 6x Radeon RX Vega 56 this is ofc where i'm most hesitant, i've picked the Rx 56 over the 1080ti because seems way more efficent in XMR mining ( https://www.reddit.com/r/MoneroMining/comments/74hjqn/monero_and_vega_the_definitive_guide/ ) and i think i'd be fine just mining XMR, i'd also not hate to mine ZEC but i can't find a credible comparison between 1080ti and rx56 for ZEC mining.
The 6 x rx56 should use about 1100 W, i'll be fine with that PSU, right?

Any advice is really appreciated, being it specific to my hw choices or more general, tips, memes..
Thanks for your time
Don't run full capacity on 1300 better go for a 1500W PSU.

It is the board of a friend , I manage it. It has 3 GTX 1060 3 Gb from Gigabyte. Now I am being told it runs for 1 hour or several hours and then nicehash stops responding. I will try gen1 and also I have to update to 1709 in Windows and also to latest driver. Will try all of these and report back today or after a few days depending on my time, although I will try to fix a few things via teamviewer , updating to latest 1709 of Windows 10 and latest GPU driver.

Still no TDR Video Failure anymore.
Hope your machine is good now Smiley

Hi
Bought a MSi Z97 Gaming 7 Motherboard and want to start 6 gpu mining but.

When i put 2 gpus (Without risers) and want to use it as crossfire it does not show the second GPU? whatever i do in Bios

Pcie Gen 3 three times.
8X4X4
Disabled Audio, Lan, etc
there is no 4G decoding option
Also tried z97 gaming 5 settings
Updated to latest bios Version 1.C (In Bios Shows 1.12)

What works is one gpu into motherboard and 3 Gpus in risers but in Pcie 1x ports when i put any one riser to full gpu slot it does not recognize it.

Please help me.

You should be able to connect x3 ATI GPU's(x8,x4,x4) without any issue. Please check with MSI. I had a chance to work with this board ..
