You see the problem with incentivised platforms is that people are in it for the gains, and then they find ways to game the system, and then eventually you get a whole load of content that's just fake, or of poor quality, just voted or rising to the top, because they're made by guys who want those incentives. You can see the difference between a hot/trending list on Steemit vs hot/trending on Reddit, for example. Vast difference.
Besides, people can tip meme creators on Reddit.
The ultimate reward, dare I say, for meme creators is viral fame. No different with Bitcoin memes.
Indeed, but we can take the example of Youtube aswell.
Early days their communication was more towards rewarding youtubeurs for their videos and incentivization helped quality content for them. From this emerged a whole community and it even created the Youtuber job too.
I believe it's more about execution than the idea itself. From the day steemit founder went to EOS, there haven't been much updates ever since.
Does it have something common with steemit? I post there a picture and the more people view and like it, the more I earn. Yes?
Yep it does look similar in a way, we even based our first version on steemit, but having 3 cryptos really made it hard to understand. And as whales messed up steem quite a lot, I didn't think it'd be a long term solution.
So right now we plan on building this on top of Loom!
But yes if the picture you posted gets famous and go to the hot page, you earn cryptos.
And you can also invest on memes, if the meme you invested in goes to the hot page, you get cryptos too depending on how much you've invested.
