Re: Is Trump official meme coin a threat to Bitcoin ?

When he rug pulls, it's going to crash the Bitcoin price. It won't hurt it long, except for added bad press/being associated with a failed, criminal President.

People hoping that he'd be good for Bitcoin, and not just run scams for himself, are suckers.

It doesn't have much of a real world use (Monero is better in most ways), and it doesn't have a group early preminers with money to hype it up. I think it's time has come and gone.

Re: Are We Witnessing the Death of Privacy in Crypto? 🚨

You said it... Monero still offers privacy. They can put pressure on it all they want, it still works.

The young/new folks here might forget... the same people tried to suppress Bitcoin too.

It didn't work then, and it won't work with Monero now.

Re: Monero (XMR) is by far the most undervalued crypto token if you ask me.

Due to its disadvantages like scaling issues and being hard to use, Monero has not been able to attract enough interest to go up as high as some people expected it to. This is why its current price is at this level. In other words it may not be as undervalued as you might think just because it also has some advantages.

Is it really harder to use than other cryptos? Or do you just mean because of de-listing?

Monero (XMR) is by far the most undervalued crypto token if you ask me.

The privacy coin has a massive user base- but the market cap has not kept up. This analyst predicts that it’s ready to go to the (dark side of the) Moon, and soon.

Monero (XMR) is the world’s top privacy coin- a cryptocurrency that can be used without leaving behind a trace. Initially released over 10 years ago, it has stood the test of time… through intense testing and major government attempts to deanonymize its users, it remains a functional way to use crypto in an totally anonymous way.

All signs point to Crypto being in the early stages of a massive bull run. Bitcoin reached an all time high recently, and many alt coins are joining it. Yet for a number of reasons, Monero’s price has thus far stayed level. Despite consistently being in the top 15 or 20 most used coins, it is barely in the top 50 by market cap (the total value of all available coins).

Reasons why Monero is undervalued.

3. I've read that Monero was preparing to deploy a way to make it even harder to track transactions: instead of 8 parts (7 decoys) in a tx, now the entire blockchain will be in theory a decoy for the tx

Can you please point me to somewhere I can read about that?

Is Monero Totally Private? A Comprehensive Analysis of De-Anonymization Attacks

Monero (XMR), a cryptocurrency renowned for its privacy-centric design, has drawn the attention of governments, cybersecurity experts, and analytics firms seeking to deanonymize its transactions. Unlike Bitcoin, where transactions are publicly visible on the blockchain, Monero employs sophisticated privacy features such as ring signatures, stealth addresses, and confidential transactions. This article analyzes notable attempts to compromise Monero’s privacy, detailing the methodologies used, their efficacy, and their limitations.

Monero’s Privacy Features: A Brief Overview

To appreciate the challenges of deanonymizing Monero, it is essential to understand its privacy architecture:

Ring Signatures: Combine a sender’s output with decoy outputs, obscuring the true origin of a transaction.
Stealth Addresses: Generate unique one-time addresses for recipients, ensuring transactions cannot be linked back to a public address.
Ring Confidential Transactions (RingCT): Conceal transaction amounts.
Dandelion++ Protocol: Helps obscure the origin of transactions during network propagation.
These features collectively create a blockchain that is opaque by design, frustrating conventional blockchain analysis techniques.

1. Chainalysis and Monero Tracking Services

Attempt: Chainalysis, a prominent blockchain analytics company, has been reported to develop tools capable of providing some insights into Monero transactions. While specifics are scarce due to the proprietary nature of their methods, Chainalysis has publicly acknowledged limited success with Monero tracking.

Methodology: Their approach likely involves exploiting known vulnerabilities, such as timing analysis of transactions or correlating off-chain data (e.g., exchange deposits and withdrawals).

Efficacy: Limited. Chainalysis’s methods have reportedly provided probabilistic results rather than deterministic deanonymization. For example, law enforcement contracts suggest they may only achieve partial success in scenarios where Monero interacts with non-private cryptocurrencies or centralized exchanges.

At this point I think it's one of two options.

1- Trump and Musk start using government money to build a "strategic reserve", and the BTC price goes way beyond 350k.

2- They decide not to, and we enter a vicious bear market.
