I have over 60 activity, but I only have one gold coin under my name instead of two, so I'm assuming that's why I'm not listed as a "member."  Do I not have 2 coins because I don't have 10 merit?  If so, how do I get merit?  Thank you.

Bitmain Antminer Z9 - Equihash ASIC Miner pushing 10,000 sols @ a whopping  300 watts

Bitmain Antminer Z9 Mini Equihash ASIC - https://goo.gl/vYFNMd
VoskCoin asks Zooko of ZEC and Rolf of ZEN - https://goo.gl/NV18pk

Interested in sharing your opinion on changing the algorithms to be truly asic-resistant and considering to invalidate the Bitmain Antminer Z9?

This gives new meaning to this thread sadly O_o

At least GPUs can change algorithms to mine other coins.  ASIC miners will be left in the dust when/if equihash becomes resistant.

I already sold my rigs but it still profitable in my place, the sole reason I sold it is I already got my ROI and rumors about new GPU coming from Nvidia. sold it early before GPU price plummets for me is the best idea.
The GPU prices of the currently available GPUs may go down with the release of a new generation, but that won't change the performance of the cards you already have.  My 1080 Tis will still kick ass.  Grin

New gpu's that are capable of higher hash rates will drive up difficulty faster than it would be driven up if a specific network hash rate just stayed the same with current hardware.  Difficulty increase will result in older cards being less profitable to mine with.  That's not to say that I would be selling off my 1080ti's right now.  I don't see myself doing that in the near future.  I think that in the near future, I will sell the 1070ti's that I have though.  I'd like to have some capital to replace those with newer gen gpu's.

The other thing I'm thinking about is using the capital from the sale of my 1070ti's to buy Vega's.  We're not seeing anti-asic fork support from anyone at the moment other than those coins that are better mined with Vega's.

I'll never bet it all on one thing though ... I'll always have a mix of hardware for mining in addition to my direct investments into various coins.

New GPUs are out.  Given the price of them, I don't think they'll flood the market too quickly.

Not sure where you're getting your info, but the new Nvidia gpu's are not out yet.

just the Titan V which is 3000$ lmao but excluding that you're correct

Still cheaper and more profitable to own two 1080 TIs than one Titan V...

Any suggestions as to the next 100x? (Please, nothing that has already been pumped, lol)

I'm sure the next 100X is Bitcoin. The development of Bitcoin is very rapid and Bitcoin can survive the next 100X even longer. The price is from year to year is always high so you do not have to worry if you invest a lot in Bitcoin. I believe Bitcoin is the best coin in the present and future.

100x Bitcoin???  So you think based off the current price of $8400 that Bitcoin will reach $840,000 before any other coin reaches 100x?  That is EXTREMELY unlikely.  And I'm not even doubtful that Bitcoin CAN hit that price at some point in time.  That would make the market cap of Bitcoin $14 Trillion.

Re: Ethereum To Be $5000-$10000 in 2018?

So I made a prediction on Litecoin a few days ago that sparked a lot of conversation on the thread. It was very interesting reading the different thought processes and predictions. So I decided to do the same for Ethereum, however, I think that Ethereum has a chance to go beyond the 2-5k threshold in 2018, if only they would market a bit better. I believe that they need to get these new "coinbase noobies" to understand what Ethereum is and why it's significant if they want to stand a chance of getting above that threshold in 2018.

As always this is just my opinion and I would love to hear what yours is, check out my full thoughts in the video :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDiEVo7QZzQ

That wasn't a far fetched prediction given the bull run at the time.  What's your prediction now?  Maybe $2000 by the end of 2018?

Probably heard about the Z9 and said, "wait a second, we could make a killing mining our own coin with those new ASICs." *ahem* "We never had plans to make equihash ASIC resistant." *ahem*

We cannot predict which will go for that. But we can perform analysis to invest in what will stand out.

Technical analysis will only get you so far.  What's more important is the product.  If you haven't checked out Substratum, now is probably the time.  Releasing public beta soon!!!

DeepOnion.  The airdrops have concluded, so the price should start rising soon now that the supply is no longer being dumped into the market.
Perhaps you are right, but only Time will show the real possibilities of this coin. Although in reality the developers have done the right thing, they made an air vacation.

Also, the VoteCentral was just released, which allows the community to vote on proposals, essentially putting the power into the hands of the community.

I PERSONALLY THINK THAT ICON IS A 100X COIN
CREDITS
zilliqa
vertical
oyser pearl
xrp
matrix al
internet node token - the iota of china

No way for iota and xrp to be 100x. Be realistic pls...

Agreed about ICON.  And South Korea just had a petition for a regulation free city!

Honestly, 100x was not far fetched during last year's bull runs, but this year is going to be a much more stable and steady growth than last year's crazy bull runs.

If you're talking about right now, mining is not very profitable, but it is still earning me more than I'm spending... Right now, I'm only earning about $20/day.  At the market's all time high, I was earning about $200/day.  Plus, while the actual dollar value of what you mine now isn't worth that much, holding your coins until the market goes back up to its previous all time high would be equivalent to as if you had mined it at that time.

Come one guys, just give up.  We all know these days are over.  We had several bull runs and the last one was just absurd, waking up the regulators AND the crooks.  Now everybody is making their own scamcoin and all serious investors know this.  Hardcaps don't get reached anymore, no one is willing to invest in anything anymore.  We all have to wait for things to settle down and be happy when we get 20% profits in a YEAR.  Which is normal and good btw.  Don't expect much moon in the future anymore.  Steady climbing up the hill will be the next goal.  For those who were there from 2014 until now: we had a good ride!  Time to settle down now because the sheeple have arrived  Smiley

Agreed.  When I first invested, not too long ago in September 2017, I expected to earn $1 million from it, but I invested expecting it to take 3-5 years to make that million.  So in the meantime, sit back and enjoy the ride.

Thats relative...earning 1 million might be easy if you have 500k. If you have 100$ it's a bit harder.

Point taken, so to put it in perspective, I started with $40,000.  A fair amount that I think made my expectation reasonable.

Re: MSI Afterburner alternative
by
CryptoJoel
on 20/03/2018, 21:54:43 UTC
so what do you guys use since AB only supports upto 8 gpu?   Tried looking for an answer but I can't seem to find any  Cry
For AMD, Overdrive like it was already suggested, there is also an integrated tool in AMD driver's software, it supports my 2 GPUs just fine, not sure about 8 though. Another alternative could be GPU-Z.

Problem is that it's a mixed and match rig (13 gpu total) so that's why I can't use afterburner.  I tried the overdrive but it's quite confusing since I can't tweak it as I go..   didn't know GPU-Z can over/under clock GPUs

Anyway, I took the easy way out...shuffle my rigs around and now I can control those vega cards (although I do have another problem in another post)...

Thank you all for the help!

I have a mix and match of GPUs as well.  All Nvidia 1080 Ti, but some are MSI, ASUS and EVGA.  I've noticed that MSI afterburner isn't properly controlling my EVGA GPUs.  Anyone else notice this?  Is there a work around for afterburner or will I just have to switch software?

zoin , ethereum meta, and deep onion are all scams, countless shills everywhere.

I see a huge community behind DeepOnion and active work by the developers.  I'd be interested to know why you think DeepOnion is a scam.
