Re: Is now a good time to invest in ICO?
by

on 22/03/2018, 02:58:37 UTC
I've been searching for ICOs for a few days and there seems to be many cases of scams and hacks which kinda scares me. Obviously, there is no 100%

Some ICO's are good and have actual use cases. they are risky and typically tank right when they hit an exchange. i've found the best time to buy is about a week after they hit an exchange.

Do you have any good reason to believe that the crypto market is going to grow this year? Do you think we may end up in all red? I do not see the growth and happy investing of last years.

Its not even through Q1 yet, everyone needs to be patient. it took BTC 8 years to get to 20,000.

seems like this summer (after quarter 2) crypto market will be back on the rise, and we might see some new ATH's. lots of devs are hard at work to make the tech better behind their coins.

bitcoin won't become much. it'll be a novelty soon because it doesn't progress with the new technology. bitcoin is controlled entirely by mining pools now. seems pretty centralized to me.

Re: altcoins for 2-3 years holding!

Hey guys, I wanna hold some alts for 2-3 years. Can you advise me some? I am thinking about Bitquance, XVG, OMG, NEO....anything else?
2-3 years i would strongly recommend XRP, MOD, Quantstamp, PRL, and definitely ICON.

ripple will probably have the biggest gain than any of these other ones though.

its the exact same as last year. we didn't see "growth" until the end of 2017. its been the same for the last three years. the last half of the year is seemingly much more profitable.

Re: Will there be a "next Ethereum"?
by

on 01/03/2018, 03:30:43 UTC
Ethereum is facing a lot of competition from platforms like EOS, NEM, NXT, Lisk, Waves, NEO, Stratis, Chainlink, DragonChain and others.  The playing field is very competitive, but Ethereum has a clear advantage in usage and community.  Do you think these other projects stand a chance?  If so, which ones?
as long as the platform or more specifically the coin, have actual real life use, it will be successful.

I'm wondering why bitcoin was made if there are too many currencies in each country, why would anyone add or make a type of currency in the internet? For easier and faster transactions or so ?

bitcoin is not anonymous, nor is it a very good option for payments. there are much better options available now. Deep Onion being one of them

Re: How does a Bitcoin have any value?
by
CryptoMoonDevil
on 22/02/2018, 05:49:39 UTC
Bitcoins do not have value as a physical commodity like gold and are not widely accepted as legal tender like dollars.

Rather, Bitcoin appears to have value for the following reasons: It is popular.

In short, people accept and trade in Bitcoin because other people accept and trade in Bitcoin.
because its "Popular"? no. not so. bitcoin isn't that popular. USD is popular. the GBP is popular. the CYN is popular. Bitcoin has value because of its store of value. it is a social value NOT linked to anything (not even popularity) Satoshi Nakamoto purposely created bitcoin to be this way. otherwise it would ebb and flow as would the value of whatever it was linked to. Hence miners solve complicated monotonous algorithms that do NOTHING for mankind. it just burns energy, thus giving Bitcoin its own value independent of all other variables.

If the world uses a single currency, will the economy be more stable?
This is a very interesting question. The sovereign nations issue their own currencies and are taken for granted by many people, but few consider whether this is the economically optimal option.
no, proof of this is the European union when they all switched to the Euro. how many of those countries are in default? they leave Germany to carry all the weight.

Re: TAX TIME- BTC???
by

on 21/02/2018, 06:23:28 UTC
I think this is a good news and a way to make bitcoin become legal and be accepted in every countries in the world, hence we know that bitcoin has been pressured by government law and if bitcoin being used as another payment for tax i think its a great idea, not to mention every bitcoin miner might be charged with income tax too. But i think this is what we need right now to get approval for bitcoin transaction  Grin Grin

but what if this is just a ploy to get all cryptocurrency users information added to government watch lists? to me it seems counterproductive to bitcoins original white paper

Re: profitability and roi questions

hey guys, so after lots of search, the only available gpus for me are ASUS 1060 strix for $350 and the MSI 1080 armor 8gb for $888.
I got zero electricity cost, but the roi seems to be a bit long and I'm not sure if things gonna go worse with time. my targeted currency is zcash.
I can buy 2 1060 and 1 1080 that's all I can afford but the I just can't risk losing this amount of money I need your opinion on what I should do, it's my first rig and I'm kinda nervous.
In most cases, your ROI is much much higher by just diversifying into several different solid altcoins. use the money that you were initially going to use to buy the rig, and dump that into the crypto market.

I do not think this will happen because every country has its own policy. The eye was made to control the people. If the currency is not theirs, the people will live by themselves. Even dollars are also used in some countries or maybe bitcoin could be the world's currency. It all depends on the development of human life as what they want to create in this world.  Cool
That was the whole idea for bitcoin to begin with, however nowadays its much to expensive to transact with, especially in third world countries and other impoverished nations.

I would like to hear people's pros and cons lists about paying your taxes with Bitcoin, now that several US states are accepting BTC to pay their tax liability.

It seems like bitcoin is hemorrhaging more and more each day (as are all the altcoins) however, i feel bitcoins days are numbered. as more and more practical use coins come about, more people start to realize that bitcoin is becoming a novelty.

I think people should stop and think money will flood into Bitcoin.  Whose money will this be.  There has already been tens of millions of pounds flooding in and still people have lost a lot of money and the price has crashed.  Where has this money gone.  Why flood in more money so somebody else can take it.  No more money should be put in for a while and wait and see what will happen then.
Tens of millions of pounds flooding in?? where are you getting your information? according to coinmarketcap.com total marketcap is WAY WAY down. ATOW its at less than 413 B USD. That's right around a 50% decrease for the month of January. This is weak hands of newbies selling based on frivolous FUD.

The important thing is to diversify it a little. don't put all your eggs in one basket. my friend and i have developed an algorithm to find excellent coins that have the potential to go 10x in a year or two. its been very profitable for us so far.

everyone is afraid the bitcoin price will keep down. but I would argue that bitcoin prices will rise again. what we have to do today is to be patient, waiting for 2018 to come. and we will see bitcoin to the moon

obviously BTC will increase in price in the long run. the problem is too many new people have become spoiled to immediate gains. They didn't sit and wait for times like 2017 to happen. they got in when it exploded and now they're learning the hard way of the volatility of all cryptos.
