What if the 'Bitcoin Revolution' actually takes 20 years to happen... instead of happening this year (2014) ?
What if it never happens? It probably wont. Why? Because people. If people had any sense there would be revolutions daily. People don't know what's good for them and they would just like to get on with their miserable lives without any fuss as long as nobody bothers them.
I find this to be very true. People tend to act docile and repeat the same tasks each day, doing their best to not "disturb" anything. This culture doesn't translate well for revolutions. Knowing how fast trends spread on the internet though, I think 20 years is an overestimate.
I tried to login to pay some peeps for an OLY coin giveaway but I can't login the page is blank. Is anyone else having trouble logging into Poloniex at this time or shall I send in a support ticket?
Same, login screen is blank for me.

A thriving community is at the top of my list. Secondly is of course, a feature that makes the currency more attractive than Bitcoin in some way.

Is Counterparty overvalued?

I don't see what Counterparty is doing better than other currencies such as Nxt yet the price has exploded recently. Is there any future in this currency?

Re: Petition To Remove Mark Karpeles From The Bitcoin Foundation Board
Re-elect the entire board. No bitcoin company owners anymore. That's not healthy for the coin. Choose independent boardmambers. professors, visionairs. Believers, not earners.
That's a excellent idea. That way we wouldn't have any issues like the one in hand, we need to keep things like this separate from business members. I know a lot of the users here who would be doing a better job than the current members of the Bitcoin foundation. This process could also be continued as those who were previously elected go onto other things such as Bitcoin businesses would get removed by newly elected members, the election would have to be decided by the community though and not by a few certain people.
Agreed. Election of board members should be reminiscent of a direct-democracy.

This currency needs to be regulated less, not more. Regulation can lead to centralization, the very aspect Bitcoin was designed to circumvent.

Darkcoin. I would say it's the first alt to properly execute complete anonymity.
I had some I bought @0.004x, sold too early. 10 @ 0.014 and 14 @ 0.022. Still have almost 3 that I will hold till the end. I'll have to sit this one out till the dump. Some guy named wolong is buying them all, not sure when he is planning on dumping. I guess he has a twitter, I don't follow it though. Probably would have held out longer if I had the extra info.
Yeah I wish we had more info than we do about it. I appreciate the heads up about wolong, wasn't aware of this. I also had some which I sold too early, thinking it was dead.
Is it just another pump-and-dump to stay away from?
Ding ding ding.
Thanks for the confirmation.

Unobtanium seems to be one of those currencies with no innovations or communities, yet it is skyrocketing lately. Is it just another pump-and-dump to stay away from? Or would it be silly to not have some?

"Dogecoin" is a joke and a fairly useless currency as it doesn't add any innovative features. However, the community that has formed around it has convinced me that it is one of the most important crypto-currencies that exist right now. A lot of people might not have been interested in Bitcoin if it wasn't for Dogecoin.

I do agree that altcoins need to diverge into their own forums and communities, and develop their own independence. While this sub-forum has been entertaining, I can't say it has produced or advertised any innovative or useful cryptocurrencies.
