The most existing Mining scam, beaware :

Scammer : Please create a blockchain wallet and just send me the loging details, let the wallet be empty !

You : I dont want to share my login details !

Scammer : The wallet is empty and I need to connect you to the mining pool and I need the login details !

You : Ok let me share

Scammer : Ok I connected you to the wallet but there should be a minimum amount of btc in your wallet ,so please deposit

You : You would deposit and then they are gone forever as he already stole your wallet pass phrase !

So dont trust these Forex Traders or Minining helps ! They are just SCAM SCAM SCMA ! Stay safe guys !
Who on earth would fall to this trick?
Only stupid would believe such thing .
And people should also be really careful on where they are investing and do their own research ,
Why would a real miner or trader ask for your money when they are already making money?

Thankyou, here it was all the awareness created for newbies, not for masters like you,so yes newbies do fall for such scams and tried to put it here so they can becareful ! dont look down on learners,if you dont want to give advice please stop putting up such comments ! Thankyou for your time though !

Moral of the story: " Don't talk to stranger."

Any suspicious on the internet or even a person should be ignored. Dont trust anyone offering too good to be true or easy money. Also, dont click any links that pops up on your desktop offering bitcoin's opportunities. Scammers are evolving. We should always be cautious.

My story was different,I didnt even get to speak to a stranger,I was called by a scammer who presented himself as a customer care of the exchange where my Bitcoins were sitting and done ,neat sweep !

The latest of the scams seems to happen through the social networking sites, and particularly the focus is getting mentioned with the name of mining. Recently I was contacted through Instagram about mining without investment, those were just traps, and they never demand for money. This way it looks like legitimate service and surely one should not get into such traps.

Very much ! And the FB and many other social media sites just SCAMMERS,worried for NEwbies not to fall for them !

All the information is true. I did not trusg anyone else except to my self because I know what is good to my bitcoin because my knowledge is quiet enough. Just not like before who don't have enough knowledge that can cause me to result losing my bitcoin. Most of the common scam I saw is some people hear story on how they successful and they convince to send bitcoin to them and they give bavk profit after few days only but it's totally scam.

Absolutely,using people's innocence !

I've been in mining before but I didn't encountered a scammer like this where in they will ask for details and connect you to the blockchain well only few people who doesn't have enough knowledge will be tricked by this, It's important that we should secure our personal details including our login details and we shouldn't be giving it to anyone.

A real support will just give guides and instructions on how are you going to set it up properly but wouldn't ask for any details and specific amount of coin/s.

thats what this topic was for, there are many newbies entering into the crypto world which is an advantage for the scammers so they trick them and get their things done and hence was the reason to spread the word !

This has been happening for such a long time and it's great to see that people are already aware of this. They're actually targeting beginners and those who would want to start mining, trading and investing. We should get rid of this type of scheme because they would only do things to fool us and to steal our earnings.

Absolutely

People must be really stupid and naive,in order to fall into this scam.
I don't see the point of connecting a wallet with "mining pool" and all that shit.
The "minimum requirement" of having some coins in your wallet is completely stupid.
More noobs should be aware of this scam.

Exactly, everybody into CRYPTO are completely aware of it and for seniors these scams might sound sillly and people falling for it might look stupid ! But thats how it is,everyone getting into CRYPTO cant become a HERO the first day so sharing few points in the forums for awareness doesnt harm !

to be accurate this has nothing to do with mining!
basically the scammer asks you to give him your private keys and then asks you to send coins to those keys, and if you do, the simply steals them. the scammer in this scenario is using combination of greed plus lack of knowledge (or laziness to do research) of the victims. otherwise that excuse they use to get your private keys is very easy to detect, it doesn't matter if they are using mining as an excuse, trading (API keys), doubling bitcoin,....

I know it has nothing to do with Mining but the conversation itself is initiated luring people saying you can earn btcoins by mining !!

Some of us have learned these things to experience. We could easily stay away from scammers if we don't trust people easily. Also, we must be keen and observant about people's intention around us. We should do some research before doing a certain step like choosing an exchange or a trading site. Being scammed is frustrating so we should protect our earnings.

True ,some of us have learnt the lessons but still there are people who are being scammed ,so spreading a small word could save somebody's hard earned money !

OP, your title is a bit misleading. I rushed in here thinking I was going to read about the different types of scam only to get "Guides to avoiding different bitcoin scams"
Maybe you should consider changing the title to a more fitting one

There are so man bitcoin/cryptocurrency scams that one can't even exhaust all of them. The most recent ones are.
- Fake wallets and exchanges that can steal your coins
- Advanced malware in form of apps and browser extensions that can steal your login detail or private keys.
-  FAKE bitcoin forks meant to steal one's coins etc

My whole intention was to atleast spread little awareness for newbies,as me being a newbie a year and half back was scammed and So here title might matter but the content carries more weightage ! Thankyou for reading and please spread the word !

3) Anybody calls you and says they are from your exchange and request for access/password,just hangup the call !
This is a very dangerous scam. It's common to receive emails from *exchanges* asking for personal details or asking the person to click a link to solve an issue or to claim a benefit.
Always think twice before clicking links you receive on email and always check the sender informations: there can be strange email terminations, or a letter out of place to trick the person.

Thats how I lost Sad
