I don't think EOS is a competitor at all to ETH. NEO has a better chance at doing this and even then I don't think it will. I see NEO and ETH both being strong competitors but to different users. But as crypto gets bigger, we will need these type of competition between the big players to keep them innervating and accountable to their investors.

I doubt it, but I would be very happy to be proven wrong on this one. It will see a very nice increase, you would think, from the levels it's at now but I don't think it will be any where near $500,000.

Nexus was one of the first coins I come across when I started researching crypto. I like the project and continue to keep up to date with what's going on. If the launch is successful the price for this one will be $30 minimal. Great project to follow.
Hi all, what's happened with Nycoin? Its price has kept continuously falling on Crypto-Bridge exchange. Astonishing to see this coin with new android wallet at such low prices.
I reckon. This coin has everything going for it except volume. The discord is active too.
Like a lot of good projects, this one is hidden by the ever increasing amount of scam/shit coins. Once more people become aware of it, it will show its true value. It Just takes time and some cleaver marketing to rise above the shit.

I know of 4 of them. InvestFeed, Debitum, adbank and Tenx
Tenx is a hold for sure, A lot of risk in the other ones. If they produce their product you might see some good gains but it will be a while (year) down the track before that will happen. Maybe see what the markets are doing by the end of July and hopefully offload them then at a better price then now. I think there's better option available who have their product working.

Some great tips and information in here for securing our wallets. I appreciate the post and have taken note. I'll be asap, going out and getting a hardware wallet like the Nano s. Thank you again.
Regulation is defiantly needed for ICOs, continual scam ICO are hurting the crypto adoption and turning new investors away. These ICO teams need to have to register with full personal details so they can't just run off with investors money.

It would be a bonus and easier for me trying to learn and research how Masternodes work if it was in one place. I use the search button and that works to a degree. It's growing in interest from what I can tell.

Re: You joined a bounty get nothing or your stakes are missed, what would you do?
by

You do nothing and move on. If you didn't get a stake then you probably didn't do the task right like the instructions told you. There's plenty of bounty campaigns that the project didn't reach soft cap and you won't get paid for that either. Make sure you read ALL the instructions on the first page, Including the general rules.
And if you done it all correctly the bounty manager could have just missed it (They can make mistakes) or maybe the bounty manager isn't to trustworthy. Try and pick a bounty with a reputable bounty manager. Don't stress to much there is plenty more to do.
I do like the topic thread you made but, calling out the bad managers by the community is good.

This looks like a interesting project. MN are defiantly the future and you have all aspects covered. Will be looking to use your services once you have it all up and running.
When I first looked at it I thought here is another scam MN project, but doing some reading it looks legit at this point. Lauda doing the escrow gives this project some trust for me. Unfortunately I won't have the funds for pre sale but will be investing in the near future.
The only way in taht you can really store your crypto is if you have a hardware waller, or at least, a very good and protected wallet that is almost unhackable because of the high encryption that it has in there.
If you'll consider the situation, there are crypto holders that can't avail to purchase a hardware wallet so that's already mentioned my OP that they can use desktop wallets / mobile wallets.
I will have to disagree with you soon. I seen that Blockbid exchange that is in beta testing is one of the first to be fully covered by cybersecurity insurance.
Still an exchange is an exchange so if its your money and you are good for storing large amount of money there, it's up to you. But the warnings has been spread in the community that don't put much crypto in exchanges that you can't avail to lose.
The warnings that are spread around the community are because most exchanges have no insurance if that exchange was hacked. These warning are correct and should be listened too.
BUT, With all the exchanges security against hacking, as well as been fully insured that if it does get hack your coins are returned, then yes when blockbid is up and running it will be way more secure and safe.
This is really great advice and there really is nothing much that can be added to it. I like at the end how you added that people should never store a significant amount of coins in exchanges because a lot of people make this mistake using exchanges as wallets
I will have to disagree with you soon. I seen that Blockbid exchange that is in beta testing is one of the first to be fully covered by cybersecurity insurance.
But they're not decentralized as they're fully compliant with the AML/CTF guidelines outlined by AUSTRAC (Australian Digital Currency Agency).
I feel once the exchange is up and running and knowing that what coins you have on there will be insured if it gets hacked, it will be a safer option.
But if you like to control it in a decentralized way then the option the OP gave are spot on.

I think you make some valid points that gets me thinking.
But when you say the market is down a lot less then 6 months ago you're right, but looking at this way, it's up 3x then it was this time last year. So I guess it's building. Hopefully the none stop influx of useless coins and scam coins will stop ,but unfortunately it will have to be done with regulation.

Are Masternodes The Future Of Blockchain
by
Crypto_Train
on 01/06/2018, 01:22:27 UTC
So I ask this question, are masternodes the future of blockchain?
With environmentalist and others jumping up and down about how much energy/power that POW uses, should we be looking towards masternodes as a alternative way to run blockchains?
I'm still fairly new to cryptocurrency, especially blockchain technology and would like to hear your thought on this topic.

Re: KYC Is not for cryptocurrency users
by
Crypto_Train
on 01/06/2018, 01:11:22 UTC
The problem I have with KYC in ICO is that a lot of these projects are scams. Lets use the recent Hashcard ICO scam for a example. They ran away with over $4mill which isn't good, but on top of that they have all the investors KYC information. So what protection does the investor have against their personal information being used by a scamming ICO? Until there's a regulating authority for ICOs ,then KYC should not be required for the safety of personal data to the investors.
Can anyone tell me why all coins have almost the same price trends even though they have very different algos.
BTC is the initiator it seems. When it rise, every other crypto coin rises. Very predictable.
So if BTC becomes $500k as predicted by some, can I say EOS or Eth and all other coin will increase in value exponentially too?
Or am I are lead to believe the fluctuation is independent. The price graph trends says otherwise.
Go to sites like Coingecko and see the graph trends in one page. Looks more or less similar.
Correct, All altcoins are pretty much measured against BTC. So as long as the the altcoin, say NEM for example stays the same compared to BTC and BTC goes up 10x then in $$ wise NEM would be worth 10x more. Even thou it's still the same value compared to BTC.

Re: Are you running any masternodes?
by
Crypto_Train
on 31/05/2018, 06:19:26 UTC
I been doing some research on masternodes lately and apart from the obvious ones(DASH, PIVX) these 2 stood out to me.
FantasyGold- working product in the fantasy sports industry, also hosting a DragonBall FighterZ esports contest in Las Vegas with future Esport tournaments. The development team seem very active in their Discord channel to any question ask. It also had a low total supply, the daily volume did seem a bit low the day I looked. They have been going for a while but had recently done a rebrand swap from DFScoin to FGC for the masternode. The ROI looked good to me. https://masternodes.online/currencies/FGC/
Rebellious- Very large community that are changing from Token to their own blockchain. This article off their website probably will explain it better then I can https://www.rebellious.io/masternodes/ Their was no ICO for this one, they gave the community free tokens in the hope the community will drive the token. It has also been around for a while now and has grown in leaps and bounds. High volume on Bit-z exchange.
