If you just want to sit on the sidelines while still keeping your "money" on Bitmex, what about just opening a short position on half your bitcoin held on the exchange. That'll hedge any volitility while you wait, minus short fees.

Funny, it was good enough to use to fork into Bitcoin Private, then all of a sudden right after the fork it's a "shit coin" again. Does that mean that BTCP is also now a shitcoin, or because you slap the "Bitcoin" name on something it's suddenly a gem?

You can currently purchase BPT on Etherdelta and IDEX at the moment. I used IDEX to buy some, but I wouldn't recommend that exchange if you're buying less than $200 worth, they have unreasonable trading limits in my opinion.
