Ive been thinking about moving forward with the cloud and how we manage data. Im not sure if many of you know but the Xboxs save files which are kilobytes and purchase verification keys are stored on their servers which the Xbox needs to connect to in order to recognize the correct save file and purchase verification to play games youve purchased. Could this server cloud system be replaced with blockchain technology? Considering data itself isnt being uploaded or downloaded, its just a verification key and a save database to show where you left off in the game. Im assuming a key number can be associated with that data so when the system starts up the game reads the key and then associates the correct data to the game (all the data would already be stored on the system, the key acts like a pattern for how the data is shown). It would replace the whole need for a traditional server. This would really only be possible if the entire game and all its data is preinstalled on the system, there would be no data being uploaded or downloaded. Is this possible?
