Version 2.0.0.1 out!  https://github.com/electroneumclassic/electroneum-classic/releases/tag/v2.0.0.1

- Fix offline created wallet not syncing properly (balance always 0.0)
- Change default data folder from ~/.electroneum to ~/.electroneum-classic
- Add 10,000 checkpoint
- Compilation fixes

When upgrading, should we rename the existent electroneum data folder to electroneum-classic or start from scratch and download the entire blockchain?

I like the fact of a much smaller premine and ASIC resistance, lets hope the DEV don't dump it and keep the development ROADMAP.

Funny how a coin with 1 day life,no GUI wallet, no exchange has an hashrate of 1250 kh/s and other cryptonote coin with longer history, traded on exchanges get just half or less of that.
Some miners must know something that I don't

Many coins have premined coins for many reasons (look at all the majors). I'm sure their use will be explained in the road map and white paper. While a giveaway or a burn would be nice, right now the focus needs to be on having the coin listed on am exchange. Some exchanges request some of the coin first up, hence the need for some premine lying around I guess. Let's see how this goes.

Let's hope so, but a lot of users will have the fear that Dev's would dump those coins at a first opportunity, that's why some coins  will lock out a big part of the premine for some time, another good way to get rewarded for the work is to allocate some % of each mined block to Dev's.

Ex: I rather those 1.200.00 coins being given to DEV's overtime as a % of each mined block, than as a premine.

About ~1200000 coins have already been mined.
It you premine?
Hi
Those coin have been mined in time of work by dev, to make sure then everything is working fine with transfers and wallets.

Regards

That's a awful lot of coins just to make sure everything is ok, it's a shame that so many interesting projects get rekt'ed by their own creators before they have a chance to grow up.

No reputable exchange will ever list a coin with such a big premine.

I would suggest doing a giveaway or even burn most of the coins and keep something around 1% to 1,5% of total supply (180.000 to 270.000 coins), if you can manage to get some credibility it's almost sure that 180.000 coins will be worth a lot more than 1.200.000 coins with little or no value.

11.5 million premine (50% of total coins) and the rest mined at a rate of 11.5 mill/88 years = 130.682 coins a year, means that even after 4 year's Dev's have (1-130.682*4/11.500.000)*100= 95.45% of all coins.

Amazing.

CommCoin was a good coin that shouldn't have died, and the proof is still working, on auto-cruise but working.
How can we manage to get a team to check the tires, oil, brakes, etc and relaunch it? There's plenty of much worse coins still spinning around.

Someone took the time do a lot of newbie profiles and SPAM praise about this coin.

If I had any doubt about this being a SCAM, those fake testimonials sure removed it.

Even to be a SCAMMER you need some INTELLIGENCE, and these guys have none.

we can use a new code/new wallet and do a coin swap, with a deadline
after the deadline, we can burn the untaken coins and also have some for development
i know at least one coin that did this method (KTK to PHORE) and i believe the developers have done a good job so far

That could be one way to do it, yes

I agree that would be better but COMM is not traded anywhere now so how would you convince a developer team to take COMM as "payment". That's why the next best things to do is burn the coins and reduce the overall supply

It wouldn't be easy, but a big enough CommCoin reward and the prospect of valorization if relaunched might convince someone to take the job. After all 70 million CommCoin at even 50 satoshi  would be worth 35 BTC.
But I agree, burning would be the fairest thing to do other than returning it to the rightful owners

Re: [ANN] AIRcoin
by

We haven't gone anywhere.  Just finished draft one of our SBIR applications to the DoD, new technology (in our INS unit) is going to take a while to get right.  We don't have all the funds necessary to do promotion and what not, we have just enough to do the work we want to do.  So that means, for now, the rebirth of AIRcoin as Aleph remains a rumor. We prefer it that way, let the rumors of what we're working on spread far and wide. We're okay with this being one of those "you had to have been there" opportunities.  Those of you who know what's coming, we ask that you patiently hold on for some time longer.  It might be a few months, it might be a few years.  Either way, make sure you're keeping up to date with our progress: when our product lines launch you're probably going to want a front row seat.

Its nice of you to post news about the work in progress. For most of us, AIRcoin was a big frustration at the time, not just because of loss of potential gains, but mostly by the failure of such an innovative idea at the time.

I don't hold a lot of coins and I would never be a millionaire out of AIRcoin , but it would be very satisfying for me to see this concept rise from the ashes, mainly because it was the first altcoin that I really believed could stand out from the swarm of clonecoins appearing at the time.

Thanks for keeping us informed.

bumbacoin, any luck with getting your wallet synced? any chance of just burning the 70 million that you received from the Cryptsy wallet to reduce supply/centralization? It's not like the coins can be traded anywhere anyway...

Those 70 million could be used to hire a team and relaunch CommunityCoin, it would be an almost poetic use for those coins.

anyone else's wallet goes into long periods of "not responding" and then eventually starts working again? my wallet seems to do this where it will not respond for a minute or two, respond briefly and then back to not responding...seems like something to do with network possibly since when i disconnect the internet, it starts to respond much better.

I experienced some strange behaviour too, maybe it's time to start looking for someone to "revive" this coin and maintain it, any whales around with big enough pockets to hire someone?

Re: Electroneum Mining - Do You Receive Your Estimated Profit?
by
Cryptosapiens
on 06/12/2017, 20:07:56 UTC
I'm mining Electroneum with a hashrate of 3.6 kH/s and my estimated profits are around 300 ETN per day. In reality, I receive around 150-180 per day. When I mined Ethereum the estimated profit was pretty close to the one I received, but with Electroneum things look a bit different.

Been using:
Easyhash.io
Hashparty.io
Electromine.fr

All of them were pretty unstable with payouts (using Hashparty.io right now and I have 62 ETN pending from the morning) Undecided.

If I may ask, then how many ETN coins do you mine daily and what pool are you using?

That is my experience as well, way less than estimated. Bad estimation? badly implemented pools? siphoning?
Going to try the pool mentioned above. will post results tomorrow, if they fail as the others then mining Electroneum is not worth as much as WhatToMine wants us to believe.

Not saying that OCminer is scammer, but everytime I mine at suprnova, I get about 20-30% less than expected.
Just don't mine there anymore, I sure don't.
