hi guys, i am having memory problems with 1 miner, and not the other.
i am using win 10, gtx 1060 6gb (5 total gpu), mining ethereum.
i have 50 gb as virtual memory, and still Sad
the strange thing is the other miner is working, its only 1.

what can it be? thanks Smiley

Hi guys Smiley i hope you are doing good Smiley

in my country there are constants power cuts, so the miners will restart. the thing is, everytime it does, as i didnt start the miner as administrator, it would run without the voltage mods, so it gets high temperatures Sad

i created a shortcut and use the options for it to always run as administrator, and to not ask to click it, but it either wont boot (if i put it on sell:startup), or will run but not as admin so no mods Sad

is there any way to do this?

to start the pc and it runs the miner as admin so the voltage and clock and power mods work?

thanks :=)
Windows or linux ?
You should start your own thread as its more about automatic overlocking / undervolting than PhoenixMiner itself.
Hint: Both windows and linux have ways to automate such things.  Windows have batch files and linux can run scripts at startup.

thanks for the answer Smiley

windows 10. ive always used the bat shortcut into startup:shell in the past times (claymore dual times). but it does not seem to work now. it starts, but without voltage oc etc. i even have that shortcut so it automatically is admin, actually when i click it myself it works, but not when it starts Sad
thanks again

In Windows when you use PM is not necessary to run the PM as administrator to change clocks and voltages. Just read the Readme file on how to set up these commands:

Code:
-powlim <n>
-cclock <n>
-cvddc <n>
-mclock <n>
-mvddc <n>

You must run PM as administrator, only if you want to do memory tweaks without modding the BIOS. Depends on your hardware, use these commands:

Code:
-straps <n>
 -vmt1 <n>
-vmt2 <n>
-vmt3 <n>
-vmr <n>
-nvmem <n>
-rxboost <n>
-vmdag <n>
-mcdag <n>

Note memory tweaks work only on older hardware. The recent Nvidia 30** and AMD 6*** series are not supported yet.

On all my rigs, I have set up for the miner to start automatically after Windows restart, and it reads the commands from the config file. I only lose about 1Mh/s per card for losing the memory tweaks. All the clocks and the powers are the same as when it is running as admin.

thank you very much for the information. ill try that. i dont use mem tweaks, only powlim and mem core clocks (like powlim -35 cclock -300 etc)
but i do that on the .bat, not on the config. ill try that on the config file.
Sad
thanks

Best (or perhaps the only) way to open a program as admin without UAC prompt (that yes or no alert) is using Windows Task Scheduler:
You have to create a task with "Run with highest privileges" and "Allow task to be run on demand" enabled.
I don't know if Task Scheduler can directly open .BAT files or not, try it first but if it can't, you can use this command instead:
%WINDIR%\system32\cmd.exe /c "D:\My Folder\My Batch File.bat"

Also you can find step by step guide for how to create a task here:
https://superuser.com/questions/1070619/how-to-grant-elevated-privileges-to-a-windows-10-startup-shortcut-to-auto-start

nice thank you very much. ill try that (i misclicked and didnt quote the last post)

Hello guys Smiley i hope you are all doing good Smiley

one question:

for ravencoin mining on windows 10, amd rx 570 4gb, what is the best way to control fans, voltages and clocks?

can i do it from the miner (like eth mining on phoenix or old claymore, where i can control temps, fans, etc via a command)

thanks

As far as I know, you cant control voltage and clocks,.. I do it throug OverdriveNTool program.

hi good sir, sorry to bother you.

ive been using overdriveNtool, but when i have a power cut problem or something, and the rig restarts, it will restart on the default clocks, not the overdrive ones.
how can i set them auto at win start?
thanks Cheesy

hello guys Smiley i hope you are doing good Smiley

i wanted to ask:
is there any command for target temperature? so the fans automatically adjust to get to that temp?
so i dont have to put a fixed fan speed?

also, how is it the hashrate of rx 570 4gb on kawpow ravencoin windows 10?

thanks Smiley

--tfan' - space-separated list of target temperatures for fan (0 - ignore), only Windows is supported (for example: '65 0 70')
--tfan_min' - space-separated list of minimal fan speed (0 - ignore) for tfan option, only Windows is supported (for example: '30 0 35')
--tfan_max' - space-separated list of maximal fan speed (0 - ignore) for tfan option, only Windows is supported (for example: '90 0 80')

thanks you Sad

i am getting this:
gygabite radeon rx 570 4gb not supported for this algorithm Sad i ma using kawpow ravencoin on windows 10 Sad

is that true? or is an error? or do i need to do something else?

thanks

You need to use linux

Why? 4GB are enough for mining kawpow on windows10!!

Use Teamredminer for rx570 and kawpow. It is the fastest one for AMD. Hashrate for RX570 13 - 14 mh on kawpow with Teamredminer

thank you very much for your answer.

i am using trm, the thing is, trm cant control via commands core clock, memclock, voltage, target temperature, etc.

what can i use for that? i am trying msi afterburner, but it has some issues (sometimes it gets the clocks and voltages only on the 1st gpu, i have to use a flat fan speed, etc)

is there other software that is better than msi afterburner?
thanks again Smiley

sadly, trm does not support core and mem clocks/voltage on the miner. is there a way to control that ? as msi afterburner has been a pain Sad i am used to use commands on the miner for target temperature and clocks volts Sad

rx 570 4gb Ravencoin mining on windows 10 with Team Red Miner
Hi guys Smiley

i used to mine eth with claymore dual miner then phoenix miner. at this moment, god willing, i am going to mine ravencoin. i have rx 570 4gb gpu bios moded for eth.

i was using hive os, but i had problems, i dont know if it is due to the bios mod. so ill be using windows 10 i think.

i just wanted to ask, if someone can help me:

1) what windows 10 driver should i use? i need to patch it because of the biod mod right?

2) i used tt and fanmin on phoenix/claymore. is there any similar command in trm?

3) how should a .bat look like?

thanks Smiley

To be fair this is pretty simple stuff you should have found if you read the docs(EX search for driver in each for instance of) IE USAGE.txt / KAPOW_TUNING.txt , ETHASH_FROM_0.7_TO_0.8
1: I use a few behind newest but a newer driver: amdgpu-pro >= 20.30 or
Adrenalin >= 20.9.1.

2:Fan:
55::::20:80  Target core temp to 55C, start fan at default configuration's speed,
always keep fan between 20% and 80%.

3: teamredminer -a kawpow -o stratum+tcp://us.rvn.minermore.com:4501 -u RDpPHx43bhrmdyd8L6BcpkHtjuc1vMpNSk.trmtest -p x then tune according to the document

hi guys Smiley
i am mining with some gtx 1060 6gb.
i was using claymore before, and i could set the clock mem etc.

when i try to do the same in phoenix, it gives error. it can mine, no problems, but at stock settings, and says unable to set clock delta etc.

what can i do to fix that?

also for a rig with 5 of gtx 1060 6gb, what should be the virtual memory amount on windows 10?

thanks

edit: it says error 137

I am not running any Nvidia cards, but I just happen to look at this today and my guess would be that Phoenixminer takes offsets for NV rather than direct values, i.e. from page 1:

-cclock <n> Set GPU core clock in MHz (0 for default). For Nvidia cards use relative values (e.g. -300 or +400)
-cvddc <n> Set GPU core voltage in mV (0 for default). For Nvidia cards use relative values (e.g. -300 or +400)
-mclock <n> Set GPU memory clock in MHz (0 for default)
-mvddc <n> Set GPU memory voltage in mV (0 for default)

Just a guess, but thought I'd chime in....

thank you for your answer. and yes, i have it as a delta (-200 core +300 mems)
maybe should i decrease it less?

The power of AC should be equal to power used (=heat produced) by miners.

Without actually forcing hot air out, we talking (1250w*4)+ (3200w), which will require a very huge air-con system, which is a bad idea IMO.

Use a Y duct with an incline duct fan, and rest assured that the AC hole won't be large enough, the standard hole saw we use here is 6.5cm, you will need to widen it by a lot.

thanks for your answer.

that would be, in terms of btu ac, how much? Sad

Depending on OC that you are using a single hole and good fan should be fine. I'd advise against using AC but you COULD if you have no other options.

The power of AC should be equal to power used (=heat produced) by miners.

thanks Cheesy and how can i calculate the heat produced by miners in btu?

Hello guys Smiley i hope you can help me

i have 4 s9 antminer and 1 m21s whatsminer, and ill put them in a friends home.

there is a room with no windows. there was a hole for air conditioned, but now is sealed. but we can open it again.

is it better to just use one ac for cooling? or ducts to take out the heat?

the electricity at least for the moment is cheap, so for that part there is no problem.

also, what should be the potency of the ac?

thanks Smiley
