Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread.

Hi

A few questions to S3 users:
1) is it possible to place four of these in a small room (15-20 m2) without AC and work comfortably there during summer Wink ? (in other words, how much heat and noise these devices produce?)
2) I've got one Toughpower Grand 1200W - will it be enough for three S3's ?
3) how it goes with overclocking and how does it affect ergonomy (noise+heat and increase in power consumption - see 1) and 2) ) ?

thx in advance

hi, I have question to S2 users: how much heat does it blow away with it's fans? I've heard it's easy to overclock it even without additional cooling, so it' shouldn't warm up much a small room in standard mode, right?
I use mine as the lounge room heater since it's 65dB it's not too bad.
(room is ~ 8m x 12m)
65db.. hm... quite significant level of noise, I thought it could work below 40dB.

It's winter here (though not that cold)
Room is 22C, outside is 14C
Most of that 8C is due to the S2.
(my only other 'heaters' are an Avalon140 running at 100 in the kitchen and an Avalon300 running at 200 in my bedroom, no normal heaters anywhere Smiley )
That's what I'm worring about... So it will definitely heat up a lot small 5m x 3m room during summer.

By lowering the price, you just devalue yourself, while you're not increasing the demand. In other words, if it weren't for newcomers who position themselves on price alone, more of us would be renting out our rigs. So your logic that you are making more at betarigs than somewhere else is a bit flawed, because you could be making even more here if you priced it higher.
yeah, price fixing on betarigs...

I dont understand all this grumbling about prices here - are you able to earn more using your rig then leasing it? Great, so you can earn much more by renting all these cheap rigs! What am I missing here? It's a damn free market!

Could total rental time be added under Riq quality? I think it's quality indicator as much important as number of jobs done; average job time may vary between rigs.

If rent payment takes too long, rental should be cancelled and funds (with BTC tx fee deducted from them) returned to payer after his payment is confirmed - because it's renter's fault to make a mess with wrong tx ammount or fee - right?

I think a straight forward solution to this problem is to introduce an online wallet on betarigs -> Rigs can only be rented, if there are enough funds in the renters account.
It's unsafe for the whole service IMHO.

It would be nice if there was a QR code option for payment so we could use mobile app.  As well as a way for users to contact each other
Thanks for renting #88 Dragons Den, I hope the rig served well.
Any new users are welcome!

Re: [ANN] BETARIGS.COM - Lease and rent mining rigs - As simple as adding a pool!

I rented Mining rig #88 Dragons Den with 2.8 Mh/s but pool reports only 1.2-1.3Mh/s. It's running for more than 1 hour now so it should be pretty stable but it's not :/
I've checked logs, no problems on my side during rent time, rig switched to betarigs correctly with full speed - there was only one quick restart on midnight (made a small config update).

I rented another rig (Mining rig #88 Dragons Den) and directed to the EU pool. If the owner is here please let me know how it looks from your side? It hasn't swiched yet to my pool, so can't tell more about this rig yet. This time it only took 9 mins to get BTC confirmed after sending from Cryptsy.

Where is your rig located? Cgminer screenshot would be great!

Poland, wyślij PM to pogadamy Smiley
Currently it's mining with full speed on betargis, no issues being reported. I will post screenshot later, I'm too busy right now.

I think something's wrong.

I'm receiving usually about 20% less coins then online calculators show lately, while it should be sometimes even more then calculations, due to variance. I cant remember any day receiveing ~100% amount of calculated dogecoin on fast-pool. Today is even worse. Will check that on some other pool.

GUIMiner - passing extra flags to tune up GPUS
by
Cryptus
on 21/12/2013, 10:46:47 UTC
Hi, I'm using guiminer v0.04 with my 4xHD7850 rig (will upgrade it to 6x7850 soon - all GPUs are identical) and I'm wondering what is the correct way of passing these setting to cgminer used by guiminer:
Code:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
--gpu-engine XXXX
And what core clock XXXX setting I should try? What Mhz increments I should use from start and whether is there any danger of damaging units? (I think I'm not going to do anything with vddc BTW)

I want to check these settings
Code:
7850, HD7850-DC2-2GD5 362 1050 4800 1.135 Y 115 GUIMiner v0.04 -I 12 --thread-concurrency 8192 Windows 8.1 x64, 75C, i5-3570K, 16GB RAM, x16 risers
from litecoin.info.

My GPUs are Club3D Radeon HD7850 CoolStream 2GB (860/4800) - I will also appreciate well-working tips for this hardware - they are running 300 khash/s now(using -I 13, ATI catalyst 13.4,  looks like these give best results), I think at least 10% increase is reachable.
