Re: Bitcoin going $1000
by

on 23/04/2018, 15:58:41 UTC
Since this is speculation, I say BTC is not going to 1k.

The last 3 years, the low for BTC has been in January 3 times and this year will be on Feb 6th.  You can just say based on history, the low for BTC is in the 1st quarter of the year.

The Feb 6th low was not pierced during the last downtrend so technically, it is producing higher lows.  It has not produced higher highs unless it takes out the last high of 11.6k or so.

Re: Moving staking wallet to external hard drive
by

I purchased one of those mini pc's to stake a coin, but found out pretty fast that the blockchain takes up a lot of memory, so much that a smaller gigabyte HD will fill up in a month or so.

So I purchased an external HD and moved over the folder.  It did free up memory on the mini pc and I thought that the blockchain would now be on the external.  But after a week or so, the mini pc is filling up quite fast with the blockchain data.

The coin that I have is syndicate.  Doe anyone know if I can find the location of the blockchain on the C drive and just move it over?  Or do I need to delete everything and start over from the external HD?

Thanks!

By any means I'm not a professional with things like this but you should find your blockchain info from %appdata% and then from the corresponding folder.
Don't know anything about resyncing it though.

Thanks for the info, I guess that I will be trying different things.  I'm not too sure how common this is.  I did a search a week ago and there are questions about moving wallets to external HD's.  I'll need to re-read them...

Re: Sell ethereum or hold ?

Now bitcoin and eth price is increasing. Is it right time to sell my eth as the price is a bit pump or I just hold it for further increase. Please give help me by giving your opinions.

When you initially bought it, didn't you have a plan when to sell it?  If so, you probably do not need some random person on a forum to tell you if you should sell...

There are traders and hodLers. I think most here are the latter.

I do expect both BTC and ETH to be quite a bit higher by the end of the year, but that is my speculation.

I've mentioned that the Feb 6th is the low point for 2018 and it has come close to dropping below that level.

Can it drop further this year?  Yes, but I do not expect it to (my speculation)

If you look at the last run up with BTC, ETH lagged behind a week or so. You can overlap the two on a chart and see it.

I do think in general, most crypto's will follow BTC as that is the defacto standard crypto.

If the Feb 6th low is not taken out to the downside, that will be the low price for 2018. If that is true, BTC will not have a 1/3 decline from now.

The last few weeks, BTC has sold off but has NOT taken out the Feb 6th low. it came close, but did not print a price lower.

Re: When Bitcoin Will Reach 1 Million in Value?
by
Crytptohack
on 24/03/2018, 12:44:17 UTC
I'm not sure if BTC will hit 1M within the next 10 years, but I do think it will increase significantly in value.

One potential reason is worldwide adoption as a currency. When you look at Metcalfe's law (the value of the asset will grow exponentially as it's user base grows) and apply it to BTC, it has a lot of growth to the upside going forward. There are 7 billion people in the world and there will be a maximum of 21 M BTC, when you look at it from those numbers, $100K BTC is conceivable.

Why will people make the move to BTC? Debasement of their currency/inflation.

Re: The price of Bitcoin will soon reach $15k on April, 2018

I can see a potential breakout due to the decreasing wedge pattern (It typically will break either up or down), but how do you get the 15k number? Pure speculation huh?

The price will double from the current level in just over a month?

I'll say that no one on this earth can give a future price and a date on any stock, commodity or digital currency/crypto.

Re: Bitcoin's bottum price?

Today Bitcoin almost reaching the lowest price on 5 Feb of $7,200. Check out chart: https://www.coinranker.net/cryptocurrency/bitcoin

Will Bitcoin get lower from this point or is the dip over?

I think that the Feb 6th low is the low for 2018. I typically look at the GDAX exchange and the low was 5873.

Looking at a chart, it spiked low to the descending lower trend line for a V bottom
Looking at a fibonacci retracement from July low to the high of 19.xk, the pullback reached the 23.6 level. (retraced -76.4% after the peak)
The previous 3 years, the low was in January. This year it may be in February.

I think many people that are new to these markets think it is easy to make money because BTC and cryptos in general run up quite fast. I also think a  lot of people want to make easy money trying to trade BTC. While it is possible, it is also quite hard as the reversals in price both up and down are very quick.

Technically, if BTC does NOT take out the last low on Feb 6th, it is still in an uptrend.

You can also look into the Heikin Ashi overlay on the candlesticks. Green is an uptrend, Red is a downtrend and you can use it on any timeframe. There is a little calculation on how the candles are colored, sometimes 2 days are combined into one candlestick.

After a price reversal, it typically takes 2-3 of the same colored bars to confirm the trend.

There is a small amount of AI projects compared to monetary coins. If you want to talk about over saturation, look at all of the crap coins that have been produced.

There are probably 2000 blockchain coins/tokens out there and a extremely small amount are AI.  It's anyone's guess which one will survive, time will tell.

I have some DBC, but not worried if it tanks...

We already use YouTube, and this is subject to censorship. Steemit doesn't have the same censorship restrictions.

A member of Steemit produced a video hosting site similar to YT named Dtube which is also decentralized. Many Steemit posters use Dtube as an alternative to YT.

There is an interview with Ethan Fast on YT in which he states that the NEX token will be traded with BTC/ETH and others on the platform. If your staking NEX in a smart contract, you will receive the dividends.

I registered for the lotto drawing this afternoon. It's going to be interesting on how the lotto system works out.

It is available to US citizens, but there are asterisks. It is basically available until it is not. If a branch of the government like the SEC states that US citizens are not eligible, then everyone from the US will be removed from the lotto drawing. (Which is March 31st @ 18:00 UTC)

Re: How to buy BTC in USA?

You can also look into the Gemini exchange in which you can also purchase BTC and ETH with US Dollars.

You can purchase them locally by using localbitcoins.com   With this method, you meet a seller at a coffee shop like starbucks and make the trade there in public.

Will Bitcoins hit 30K before the end of this year?

Do you also have kind of assumption? I already have...

I'm apprehensive to say yes or no as that means I will be giving a price target by a certain time. No one can do that because it would be predicting the future.

IMO, I think BTC will be over 30k at some time in the future.

I also think that BTC will hit major resistance at the previous high of 19.x K. It will make a few attempts before breaking through and who knows when that will happen. If it goes parabolic like it did in Nov/Dec last year, it could be this year...

Re: Is There Any Cyclicality in BTC Prices
by
Crytptohack
on 11/03/2018, 18:24:31 UTC
I've researched a little regarding a correlation between BTC and other assets but could not find anything specific. In general, It may be trading opposite of the USD index...

Finding buying opportunities depends on the hodL'ing time frame. Watch the stochastics indicator and when it is under the 20 level on a daily chart which is the 'oversold' area. Once both lines (K and D) are over 20, the trend tends to continue to the upside and often to the overbought area which is over 80.

I speculate that the bottom for 2018 was on Feb 6th.

Re: Bitcoin or Real Estate?
by
Crytptohack
on 11/03/2018, 18:01:28 UTC
The value of Real Estate has been increased a lot in the past few years. After the major dip in the crypto market a lot a people are wondering if investing in Real estate is a better investment then BTC. The charts for Bitcoins is showing some up and downs and it happens that right now the BTC is losing -6%.

What are your thoughts?

The real estate market is cyclical and typically rises for years and declines for years. Since the crash of 2008/09, real estate has continued to appreciate. No one knows when the top will be in, but there will be a point where real estate starts to decline.

BTC is still relatively new and there not too much history. But it should continue to increase as money continues to be debased as well as increased worldwide adoption.
