Why FurryCoin?

The main purpose of FurryCoin is to introduce cryptocurrency to a new community with the hope it will be a useful and fun service.

Our goal for FurryCoin is to introduce a new audience and not just be another alternative currency set up for the sake of it. FurryCoin is a Scrypt based coin to allow end users to easily mine it with a basic gaming PC and will have a limited premine to fund bounties, kickstart projects, hold promotions to encourage use of FurryCoin and to cover some of our setup and running expenses. Furrycoin will be released to the general public in the next few weeks. It will be a Scrypt based cryptocurrency targeted at a specific community in the hopes it will be useful and encourage others who are making altcoins to apply more then just a meme or cute image, but to start using altcoins to further promote and encourage use of cryptocurrency instead.

But why Furries? Aren't they weird and stuff?

Although you may choose to make fun of them and I suspect I'll receive a few troll posts below, the community was chosen because of real life ties and because it is not that far removed from the current batch of altcoins, that is coins based on a popular meme such as Dogecoin or cute imagery like most of the coins out there already.

Our approach is to offer FurryCoin as a marketed and targeted service and not bash it down peoples throats like some religion. We do this by using imagery and terminology that is familiar and offering small rewards for people who take the time check out FurryCoin, the value of which is leveraged from the value and ability to exchange the currency with Bitcoin, although we suspect our target audience mostly won't do this initially and that will be a market for you all to exploit if you so choose.

None of the team has access to mind melting hashing power nor has mates to hash the plannet so when the coin launches the vast majority of blocks will be all over to you.
